(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 15, 2024 – Leaping out of the children’s book genre, Plymouth, Wis. author Karen Meyer makes her first foray into the world of fantasy with the release of “The Knight and the Evil Magician” as her second book to debut during her 10th year as an author.

Published through Pedal Down Promotions of Manitowoc, Wis., Meyer’s 17th book provides a riveting medieval knight storyline with a clash between good and evil serving as the centerpiece of the narrative with her grandson adding the illustrations via his hand-drawn sketches.

“My grandson, Vincent, asked me to write this book when it was his turn for me to dedicate a book to him,” Karen Meyer said. “He even gave me the title for the book.”

With Vincent’s sketches of a medieval fantasy world filled with knights, kings and magicians providing a vivid backdrop, Karen’s storytelling deftly intertwines with her grandson’s keen artistic vision.

“The process of writing his book was different for me because I was writing a story for a requested book, instead of selecting a subject of my own choice,” Karen said.

Over the past decade, Meyer has excelled in the children’s book genre since debuting “Hootch” nine years ago. In April, she released the children’s book, “Papa Bear’s Fence,” and now she has her eye on spreading her wings into different genres.

“I have released picture books for young children and chapter books for tweens over the years,” Meyer said. “Now I have this medieval fantasy book coming out and I’m presently writing a romantic comedy for adult readers. Authoring books allows me to use my imagination. I enjoy connecting with readers.”

Karen says fantasy book lovers of all ages will have plenty to enjoy within the pages of her first book release to showcase the medieval fantasy genre.

“This book is geared to readers who enjoy fantasy, from age eight on through to adults,” Karen said.
