Mitch McGrath of Waukesha earned his second victory in the span of three days and his 18th career Plymouth Dirt Track Racing Late Model A-main victory in the 30-lap Seubert Calf Ranches Super Six Late Model Series season finale at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, Aug. 22. – JW’s Car and Raccing Photos

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) August 22, 2026 – Mitch McGrath of Waukesha sealed his second victory in the span of three days, while Random Lake’s Brad Mueller wrapped up his seventh Plymouth Dirt Track Racing Late Model championship in the Seubert Calf Ranches Super Six Late Model Series 2026 season finale at The Plymouth Dirt Track on Saturday, Aug. 22.

Two-time track champion Ben Schmidt of Plymouth took another big step toward buttoning up a third title by securing his seventh A-main win of the 2026 season to regain the division’s all-time victory record with his 35th career PDTR 360 Sprint Car triumph.

In the Oostburg Automotive Grand National main event, Mavrick Ruh of Elkhart Lake collected his first feature win of the 2026 campaign at The Plymouth Dirt Track.

Former track champion Justin Green of Sheboygan Falls put on a driving clinic to claim his second Sheboygan Flooring B Mod A-main win of the 2026 season from a mid-pack starting position.

After an aborted start for a four-car incident, outside front row starter Nick Anvelink of Bonduel grabbed the initial lead of the 30-lap Super Six Late Model Series headliner with 2014 PDTR Late Model champion Mitch McGrath, who started fourth, in tow.

McGrath, who claimed a $3,000 Independence 30 victory at The Plymouth Dirt Track two days prior on Thursday, Aug. 20, hounded Anvelink over the next nine laps, hunting low and high for his opportunity to wrestle away the lead.

Finally, McGrath worked his way past Anvelink in turn one on lap 10. Five laps later, the second caution flag of the race appeared for a single-car spin in turn four. On the restart, 2025 Super Six Late Model Series champ Taylor Scheffler of Waukesha used a low move to slip by Anvelink and seize second.

After another caution on lap 20 for a two-car incident in turn two, Anvelink battled back to regain second. However, the fourth and final caution flag was displayed on the following lap for a two-car incident in turn four.

Following the restart, Scheffler bolted back into second and began cutting into the lead gap. However, McGrath was too strong on the way to his second A-main triumph at the Plymouth Dirt Track in three days, which was worth $2,500. It was McGrath’s second win of the 2026 season in his only two starts at the track, and his 18th career PDTR Late Model victory.

Scheffler wound up second, Anvelink was third, third starter Joel Bennett of Hortonville finished fourth, and Brad Mueller finished fifth to nail down his seventh PDTR Late Model championship and third Super Six Late Model Series title.

Ben Schmidt bolted into the lead on the drop of the green flag in the 25-lap PDTR 360 Sprint Car main event from the pole. While Schmidt began to swiftly separate himself from the field, fifth starter Tyler Davis of Franklin used the outside groove to power his way into second on lap 3.

Schmidt caught the rear of the field on lap 6 and made quick work of the slower cars to extend his advantage over Davis. The first caution flag was displayed on lap 15 when an infield tire was knocked onto the track surface.

Two laps later, a four-car incident in turn four prompted the second and final caution of the race.

Ben Schmidt of Plymouth regained sole possession of the top spot on the Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car career victory list by earning his 35th career A-main triumph at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, Aug. 22. – JW’s Car and Raccing Photos

Davis used lapped traffic to cut into the lead gap as the laps wound down, but the veteran Schmidt, in his 27th season of racing, remained unflappable on the way to his seventh PDTR 360 Sprint Car win of the season, and eighth overall triumph of 2026.

The victory vaulted Schmidt back out of a tie with Brandon McMullen and into sole possession of the all-time PDTR 360 Sprint Car victory record with his 35th career win. It was also the 60th triumph of Schmidt’s Midwest Sprint Car Association career.

Davis placed second, Andover, Minn. native and PDTR 360 Sprint Car rookie Carter Chevalier placed a career-best third from the seventh starting spot, T.J. Smith of Greenville moved up from the 10th starting position to finish fourth, and Tristan Furseth of Cambridge charged from the 12th starting spot to round out the top five.

Second starter Will Schumacher of Hartford led the opening lap of the 25-lap Grand National main event before polesitter Mavrick Ruh ducked under Schumacher to take over the top spot on lap two.

One lap later, 2019 PDTR Grand National champion and current points leader Tyler Kulow of Plymouth moved into second from the fourth starting position and quickly charged in to pressure Ruh for the lead.

Two caution flags for single-car spins slowed the pace on laps 11 and 15, as Kulow continued to doggedly challenge Ruh for the top spot. Despite Kulow’s persistent efforts, Ruh was not to be denied as he rolled on to win his second career PDTR Grand National A main event.

Kulow had to settle for second; three-time PDTR Grand National champion Brad Lubach of Kiel maneuvered up from the 10th starting spot to take third in an IMCA Stock Car, sixth starter Jeff Muehlbauer of Elkhart Lake took fourth, and Josh Pierce of Adell placed fifth from the 12th starting position.

Tyler Kulow will take a 30-point lead over Jeff Muehlbauer in the PDTR Grand National standings into the final night of the 2026 PDTR on Friday, Aug. 28.

Outside front row starter Brad Buckman of Kiel took the lead at the start of the 25-lap B Mod main event with polesitter Ryan Pafford of Kiel following in second. The first of three caution flags appeared on lap eight for debris.

Following the restart, third starter Hunter Larson of Oshkosh moved into second with 2017 PDTR B Mod champion Justin Green following into third from the 10th starting spot.

After another caution on lap 9 for a single-car spin, Green worked past Larson to take second on lap 10. Three laps later, Green grabbed the lead and never looked back on the way to his second main event win of the season and 10th career PDTR B Mod A-main triumph.

2018 PDTR B Mod champion Tim Sheppard of Beaver Dam mounted a stirring run to second from the ninth starting spot, Buckman wound up third, Larson was fourth, and fifth starter Steve Lorier of Sheboygan rounded out the top five.

Heading into the final night of the 2026 season on Friday, Aug. 28, 2024, PDTR B Mod champ Travis Schmidt of Cascade holds a slim 8-point lead over Tim Sheppard.

Travis Kleindl of Beaver Dam won the 12-lap B Mod B main.

Mitch McGrath claimed fast qualifier honors in the Late Model division in 13.359 seconds.

Ethon Stear of Hebron, Ill. picked up fast qualifier accolades in the 360 Sprint Car ranks with a lap of 12.551 seconds.

The 15th event of the 2026 PDTR campaign, which was sponsored by Custom Craft Trophy and Embroidery, attracted a field of 86 total cars, including 27 B Mods, 22 360 Sprint Cars, 20 Late Models, and 17 Grand Nationals.

On Friday, Aug. 28, the WABAM Dirt Kings Late Model Tour makes its lone stop of the 2026 campaign at The Plymouth Dirt Track. It will also be the final points night of the season for the Oostburg Automotive Grand Nationals and Sheboygan Flooring B Mods. The Dirt Devil Series will be part of the Grand National portion of the program, and the Akright Auto 360 Sprint Cars will also be in action.

In addition, the End of Season Championship Night will include a total increased purse of $3,000 in the PDTR 360 Sprint Car, Grand National and B Mod divisions, which equates to an extra $1,000 in each.

The 360 Sprint Cars will race for $1,000 to win and $200 to start. Grand Nationals will compete for $500 to win and $105 to start, and B Mods will receive $500 to win and $85 to start.

Spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 6 p.m. and opening ceremonies at 7 p.m.

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) August 20, 2026 – It may have necessitated a seven-week wait, but the Independence 30 delivered the racing goods on Thursday, Aug. 20 at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Thursday, Aug. 20.

The special America 250 celebration event was originally scheduled for July 2. However, rain forced the postponement of the diverse five-division racing program to the Aug. 20 makeup date.

With a strong field of 124 total cars packing the pit area, A-main competition ran fast, smooth, and clean with just two total caution flags slowing main event action.

In the 30-lap Sheboygan’s Rock Station 106.5 The Buzz Late Model headliner, Mitch McGrath of Waukesha cashed in with a $3,000 victory in his first Plymouth Dirt Track appearance of the 2026 season.

Five-time Plymouth track champion and Plymouth Racing Wall of Fame member Donny Goeden of Kewaskum bagged his first Akright Auto 360 Sprint Car A-main victory of the year in just his third outing of the 2026 season.

Veteran Tim Cox of Park City, Ill. posted his first 2026 Autometer Powered by Gandrud Performance Wisconsin wingLESS Sprint Car main event win in the 20-lap A-main.

Jayden Schmidt of Seymour collected his second Plymouth A-main win and fourth overall feature victory of the season in the 20-lap A Modified main event.

Tucker Bodendorfer of Muskego picked up his first overall A-main win of the 2026 campaign in the 20-lap Street Stock feature.

Goeden, Cox, Schmidt and Bodendorfer each bagged $1,776 first-place prizes for their A-main triumphs.

Mitch McGrath, who claimed the PDTR Late Model title in 2014, grabbed the lead on the opening lap of the Late Model main event from the pole with Nick Anvelink of Bonduel taking over second from the third starting slot.

On lap three, 2025 PDTR Super Six Late Model Series champion Taylor Scheffler of Waukesha, who started second, moved in to pressure McGrath and Anvelink as the three area Late Model stalwarts dueled three-wide for the lead in turn four.

McGrath maintained the top spot, while Scheffler inched by Anvelink to secure second with a low groove move on lap 4. Three laps later, Scheffler pulled in to briefly pull alongside McGrath. However, he was unable to complete the overtake.

Scheffler continued to hound McGrath over the final 23 laps as the preferred line stuck tight to the bottom lane of the racing surface. But McGrath wasn’t to be denied, as he rolled to his first A-main win of the 2026 season, and his 17th career Late Model main event triumph at The Plymouth Dirt Track in the caution-free race.

Scheffler had to settle for second, Anvelink was third, Joel Bennett of Hortonville finished fourth after starting fourth, and fifth starter Terry Casey of New London rounded out the top five.

Two-time PDTR 360 Sprint Car champ Kurt Davis of South Milwaukee, who started on the pole, outdueled three-time division champion Donny Goeden, who started fourth, to lead the opening lap of the 25-lap PDTR 360 Sprint Car A main.

On the second circuit, Goeden worked past Davis to secure the lead exiting turn four. The 42-season racing veteran proceeded to build up a half straightaway cushion over Davis by lap 8. Three laps later, the leaders caught up to the back of the pack, which helped to produce a spirited nose-to-tail four car battle for third place between Josh Walter of Plymouth, Steven Ruh of New Holstein, two-time PDTR 360 Sprint Car champion Ben Schmidt of Plymouth, and Andover, Minn. native Carter Chevalier before the lone caution flag of the race appeared on lap 13 for the slowing car of Chris Larson.

Following the restart, the third-starting Walter ducked under the high-riding Davis to steal second. However, Davis battled back along the cushion to regain the runner-up spot three laps later. Davis then wound up his familiar yellow 6K machine to mount one final charge.

In his 41st season of competition, Davis closed in to pressure Goeden on lap 17. With two laps to go, Goeden caught lapped traffic, allowing Davis to make a run on the final lap, which came up just one car length short at the finish line.

The 62-year-old Goeden emerged with his first 360 Sprint Car victory of the season in three tries, 23rd career PDTR 360 Sprint Car A-main win, and 24th career MMW Industrial Supply Midwest Sprint Car Association victory.

Davis was second, Walter placed third, Chevalier, who started fifth, finished fourth, and Brandon Berth of Cascade charged up from the 12th starting position to place fifth.

Tim Cox of Park City, Ill. netted his first overall main event triumph of the 2026 season in the Autometer Powered by Gandrud Wisconsin wingLESS Sprint Car feature at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Thursday, Aug. 20. – JW’s Car and Raccing Photos

Polesitter Ralph Johnson of Silver Lake paced the opening lap of the Wisconsin wingLESS Sprint Car feature with third starter Tim Cox in tow. Cox stalked Johnson over the ensuing five laps before pouncing on lap 6 to take over the lead.

As Cox commanded the lead, outside front row starter Allen Hafford of Beach Park, Ill. slid past Johnson to claim second, and sixth starter Eric Wilke of Genessee followed in third on lap 15.

Three laps later, Hafford used the high line to track down Cox with Wilke close behind. Despite the late pressure, the 65-year-old Cox held on to collect his first main event win of the 2026 campaign in the non-stop event.

Hafford was second, Wilke placed third, Johnson took fourth, and fourth starter Colin Sivia of Winthrop Harbor, Ill. wound up fifth.

In the A Modified feature, polesitter Geoff Jeche of Juneau led the opening lap before third starter Derek Janke of Symco inched ahead along the inside lane on lap 2. Jeche then battled back along the cushion to regain the top spot on lap 5 with fifth starter Cole Czarneski of Denmark following in his tire tracks into second.

Three laps later, Jayden Schmidt charged his way up from the 11th starting spot to engage Jeche and Czarneski in a three-wide duel for the lead. Schmidt used the inside lane to grab the top spot on lap 14 with Czarneski following in second and Jeche dropping to third.

From there, Schmidt sailed away, utilizing the outside groove to perfection on the way to his fourth overall win of the 2026 campaign and second career triumph at Plymouth.

Czarneski placed second, Skyler Woods of Beaver Dam finished third from the seventh starting position, Jeche wound up fourth, and Dan Roedl of Beaver Dam moved up from the ninth starting spot to round out the top five.

The Street Stock A-main saw polesitter Tucker Bodendorfer take the lead on the opening lap and never let go. Third starter Cory Lemirande of Little Suamico took a brief run at Bodendorfer, but the race-long leader was never seriously challenged the rest of the way.

The only thing that slowed Bodendorfer’s rapid pace was a caution flag for debris on lap 10. Bodendorfer drove away to claim his first Plymouth win and first overall victory of the 2026 season.

Cody Potter of Pell Lake stormed up from the 17th starting spot to take second, Lemirande was third, 11th starter Brandon Mertes of Salem was fourth, and Kelly Brown of Beaver Dam placed fifth, after starting second.

Lakeshore Book Show and Author Signing returns to 3 Sheeps Brewing

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) August 18, 2026 – On the heels of a highly successful debut at 3 Sheeps Brewing in Sheboygan, Wis., a year ago, the fifth annual Lakeshore Book Show and Author Signing is on tap to return to the popular craft brewery and event venue on Saturday, Nov. 7.

Running from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with free admission, the show will once again provide a unique opportunity for a diverse group of area authors to share their books with an enthusiastic audience of book lovers.

Popular true crime and motorsports author Joe Verdegan of Dunbar, Wis., who released the Amazon No. 1 true crime best-seller “The Reformatory – Tales from Green Bay’s Maximum Security Prison” in 2020, will return to the show for the fifth consecutive year.

This year, Verdegan will have copies of his latest release, “The Monfils 6 Case – 30 Years Later,” available for purchase. The book details one of the highest-profile cases in Brown County history in which six Green Bay paper mill workers were convicted in the 1992 death of Tom Monfils.

In addition, Verdegan’s wife, Kim, will make her Lakeshore Book Show and Author Signing debut for the launch of her new children’s book titled “Luna and Pip’s 1st Adventure,” which showcases illustrations from Sheboygan’s Julia Santana.

Among the other authors scheduled to be on hand with copies of their books for purchase are Steven Wilton of Birnamwood, Wis. (action, fantasy, adventure, romance – “On Orion’s Shoulder,” “Queen of Crows” and “Crows and Wyverns”), and author Robert L. Rogler of Kiel, Wis. (fantasy, adventure – “Heart of Light Book One – Madea’s Fate,” “Rendered Soul,” “Witch’s Valley Book Two – Madea’s Fate,” and “Shadows of Fate Book Three-Madea’s Fate”).

The books featured at this year’s show span a wide range of genres, including true crime, auto racing, military history, sports, romance, Christian/inspirational poetry, epic-medieval fantasy, children’s stories, and more.

The 3 Sheeps Brewing taproom will be open with drinks available for purchase throughout the event.

McMullen soars back to top at Plymouth

Pierce, Schmidt, Sivia claim PDTR A-main wins

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) August 15, 2026 – One week after dropping to second on the Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car all-time A-main victory list, three-time division champion Brandon McMullen of Oostburg regained a share of the career win crown on the strength of his first 25-lap main event victory in nearly three years on Saturday, Aug. 15 at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis.

Filling in for the injured Billy Kreutz behind the wheel of the 3BK car, McMullen’s 34th career A-main win vaulted him back into a first-place deadlock with two-time PDTR 360 Sprint Car champion Ben Schmidt of Plymouth, who had claimed sole possession of the top spot with a victory one week ago.

Josh Pierce of Adell captured his first victory of the 2026 season in the 25-lap Oostburg Automotive Grand National main event.

Current Sheboygan Flooring B Mod point leader and former division champion Travis Schmidt of Cascade secured his second 25-lap A-main win of the season.

14-year-old Colin Sivia of Winthrop Harbor, Ill. recorded his first career Plymouth Dirt Track A-main victory in the 20-lap Autometer Wisconsin wingLESS Sprint Car Series presented by Sheboygan’s Rock Station 106.5 The Buzz headliner.

The 360 Sprint Car main event got off to a rough start when T.J. Smith of Greenville drew a red flag after flipping in turn one.

When the race got underway, rookie Ethon Stear of Hebron, Ill. jumped into the lead from the pole with Steven Ruh of New Holstein, who started on the outside of the front row, settling into second, and fourth starter Josh Walter of Plymouth slotting into third.

On lap 6, Stear caught the rear of the field and began to work his way through slower traffic when a caution flag was displayed for the stalled car of Chris Larson of Franksville in turn two.

Following the restart, Walter slipped past Ruh to take second before Justin Erickson stopped in turn two, producing another caution flag on lap 9. Stear used a strong restart to bolt away from Walter, while Brandon McMullen, who started fifth, took over third on lap 12.

The final caution flag came out on lap 16 for Jake Zimmermann’s disabled car in turn two. After the green flag reappeared, McMullen slipped underneath Walter to assume second and quickly reeled in Stear.

The leaders caught up to slower traffic on lap 20, which allowed McMullen to cut the lead gap. While Stear rode the high groove of the lightning-fast track surface, McMullen rolled the bottom to draw within striking distance on lap 23.

One lap later, McMullen ducked underneath Stear to grab the lead in lapped traffic on lap 24. McMullen, who stepped away from full-time racing competition after the 2023 season, went on to earn his first PDTR 360 Sprint A-main victory since Sept. 2, 2023.

The victory allowed the Plymouth native to move back into a tie with Ben Schmidt and regain a piece of the all-time PDTR 360 Sprint Car A-main victory record with his 34th career triumph. It was also McMullen’s 46th career Midwest Sprint Car Association main event win.

Stear finished second, Walter was third, and 2025 PDTR 360 Sprint Car champ Kevin Karnitz of West Bend placed fourth after starting sixth. Just after crossing the finish line, Ben Schmidt collided with the spinning car of Joseph Hintz and flipped into the infield, but not before he wrapped up a fifth-place showing from the 18th starting spot.

“It’s an honor to be tied for lead with Ben [Schmidt],” McMullen said. “He’s a great driver with a great team. He races full time, so he will eventually have the record for himself. To get a win in the second night out in a different car is a great feeling.”

Last week’s A-main winner Derek Kaat of Plymouth led the first four laps of the Grand National main event before Josh Pierce grabbed the top spot with a low move in turn four on lap 5.

On lap 7, eighth starter Dustin Weiss of Iron Ridge moved up to second and pulled in to pressure Pierce at the point. However, Pierce held strong at the front, negotiating slower traffic on the way to his second career PDTR Grand National A-main win.

Weiss wound up second, eighth starter Dustin Weiss of Iron Ridge took third, Kaat placed fourth, and sixth starter Justin Miller of Plymouth rounded out the top five in the non-stop race.

Third starter Tim Thrun of Horicon worked past polesitter Kevin Braaksma of Juneau to lead the opening lap of the B Mod A main. On lap 3, Matt Urban moved up from the fifth starting spot to assume the top spot just as PDTR B Mod champion and current point leader Travis Schmidt, who started seventh, moved into second.

As Schmidt closed in on the lead, Urban pulled off the track with an apparent mechanical issue on lap 10.  After inheriting the lead, Schmidt never looked back on the way to his 10th career PDTR B Mod A-main victory.

Travis Schmidt of Cascade earned his 10th career Sheboygan Flooring Plymouth Dirt Track Racing B Mod feature triumph at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, Aug. 15. – JW’s Car and Raccing photos

Braaksma placed second, 2018 PDTR B Mod champion Tim Sheppard of Beaver Dam worked his way up from the ninth starting position to take third, Thrun was fourth and eighth starter Tony Gates of Chilton wound up fifth in the caution-free race.

Polesitter Tim Cox of Park City, Ill. led the opening two laps of the Wisconsin wingLESS Sprint Car main event before fourth starter Colin Sivia used the high line to sweep into the lead in turn two on lap 3.

From there, Sivia built up a solid cushion on the way to his second career Wisconsin WingLESS Sprint Car main event win and first triumph at Plymouth.

Cox was second, second starter Ralph Johnson of Silver Lake took third, Ryan Zielkski of Oconomowoc moved up from sixth to finish fourth, and Trinity Uttech of New Berlin started and finished fifth in the non-stop event.

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) August 12, 2026 – After claiming his first Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association triumph of the 2026 campaign in his most recent outing, Travis Arenz celebrated his second A-main victory in the span of 13 days in a non-sanctioned open 410 Sprint Car event at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis. on Saturday, Aug. 8.

Arenz, who earned his first IRA win of the season at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis. on Sunday, July 26, opened the night at Wilmot by topping the 14-car field with a fast lap of 12.594 seconds in qualifying.

After lining up on the pole of the first eight-lap heat race, the Sheboygan Falls, Wis. driver placed second to gain the pole in the four-lap dash, which set the front two rows of the main event.

Arenz placed second in the dash to earn the outside front row starting spot in the 20-lap main event. The two-time Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion trailed race leader Clayton Rossmann in the early going before storming into the lead on lap 6.

Once out front, the current IRA point leader never looked back on the way to his second A-main victory of the 2026 season and sixth career 410 Sprint Car win in the caution-free race.

It also marked the 76th overall A-main victory of Arenz’s 19-season career spanning competition in the Outlaw Compact four-cylinder, Sport Mod, 360 Sprint Car and 410 Sprint Car divisions.

“Overall, I’m pleased with the outcome,” Arenz said. “With it not being a points night, I was able to try things that I normally wouldn’t. With the IRA being there in a couple of weeks, I wanted to see if the car worked with different setups than I have run in the past there and stay on top of my program. Typically, I have pretty decent results at Wilmot, but I always want to be better. We are now in the later point of the schedule, and with currently leading the point standings, it is crucial to have consistent finishes and be the best I can.”

After a weekend off, Arenz will resume Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association action at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis. on Saturday, Aug. 22 for the annual Kenosha County Fair night race before returning to Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis. on Sunday, Aug. 23 for the annual Corn Fest event.

All IRA events are streamed live on floracing.com.

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) August 11, 2026 – Alex Pokorski and the GR8 Team turned in a 2026 season-best fourth-place showing in an open 410 Sprint Car event at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., on Saturday, Aug. 8.

Pokorski opened the night by qualifying fourth in the 14-car field with a lap of 12.736 seconds on the venerable three-eighths-mile semi-banked clay oval. After starting and finishing second in the second eight-lap heat race, Pokorski earned a dash spot to set the front two rows of the main event.

A fourth-place dash showing gave the seventh-year Sprint Car competitor an outside second row starting slot in the 20-lap headliner. The West Bend, Wis. native stayed inside the top five throughout the non-stop race, coming home with a season-best fourth-place A-main finish.

“It was a good night,” Pokorski said. “We had a shock go bad for the heat race, but I managed to hold onto a dash spot. The track was a bit treacherous with a big curb in the feature, but I had fun racing on it. I’m happy to have a good result.”

The next confirmed event for the Alex Pokorski-GR8 Team is a doubleheader with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn. on Friday, Sept. 18 and Saturday, Sept. 19.

Schmidt breaks Plymouth 360 Sprint Car win record, Parker snaps victory drought

Kaat, Van Hierden claim PDTR A-main wins

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

Ben Schmidt of Plymouth earned an all-time record-breaking 34th career Plymouth Dirt Track Racing Akright Auto 360 Sprint Car A-main victory at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, Aug. 8. – JW’s Car and Raccing Photos

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) August 8, 2026 – After two decades competing in the Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car division, two-time champion Ben Schmidt of Plymouth became the all-time winningest 360 Sprint Car driver in the history of The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis., with a commanding win in the 25-lap A-main on Saturday, Aug. 8.

Schmidt’s 34th career PDTR 360 Sprint Car main event victory pushed him ahead of three-time track champion Brandon McMullen of Oshkosh to stand alone atop the division’s all-time career feature victory list.

Paul Parker of Kaukauna recorded his first PDTR Late Model main event victory in over seven years in the 30-lap Seubert Calf Ranches Super Six Late Model Series headliner.

Derek Kaat of Plymouth raced to his first career Oostburg Automotive Grand National A-main victory in the 25-lap feature.

In his first appearance of the 2026 season at The Plymouth Dirt Track, Colten Van Hierden of Waupun claimed his first triumph since 2024 in the 25-lap Sheboygan Flooring B Mod main event.

Ben Schmidt wasted no time in putting his stamp on the 360 Sprint Car main event. After firing off third, the 2011 and 2025 division champ got a huge run down the backstretch before diving low entering turn three and sliding past front row starters Katelyn Krebsbach of Johnsburg and Hayden Schmuhl of Beaver Dam to grab the lead in turn four of the opening lap.

A caution flag appeared on lap 2 for a spin involving T.J. Smith of Greenville in turn two. When the race resumed, Schmidt bolted to the front, while three-time PDTR 360 Sprint Car champion Donny Goeden of Kewaskum, who started fifth, seized second on lap 6.

Over the ensuing 12 laps, Schmidt built up a dominating half-lap lead before Josh Walter of Plymouth contacted the turn one wall and flipped on lap 18.

Following the restart, Schmidt again pulled away while Krebsbach, who started on the pole, slipped past Goeden to take over second.

Schmidt cruised over the final seven laps to earn his seventh overall A-main victory of the 2026 campaign and sixth main event win of the season at The Plymouth Dirt Track. In addition to being his all-time division-leading 34th career PDTR 360 Sprint Car feature triumph, it was also Schmidt’s 59th career Midwest Sprint Car Association A-main win.

“This win is special,” Schmidt said. “To get to the top of the career win list here is something I wasn’t sure we would be able to do. It’s a credit to the whole team, my crew, and all my sponsors who have helped to get us where we are now.”

Krebsbach took second to equal her career-best A-main showing; defending PDTR 360 Sprint Car champion Kevin Karnitz of West Bend placed third after starting sixth; Goeden wound up fourth; and Tyler Davis of Franklin stormed up from the 11th starting position to round out the top five.

Paul Parker, who started on the pole, flexed his muscle from the start of the Super Six Late Model headliner, seizing the lead on the drop of the green flag. Following the first of four cautions for debris on lap 8, fourth starter Brett Swedberg of Shawano moved into second and quickly sighted in on the lead.

Paul Parker of Kaukauna picked up his second career Plymouth Dirt Track Racing Late Model main event win in a Seubert Calf Ranches Super Six Late Model Series A main presented by Sheboygan’s Rock Station 106.5 The Buzz at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, Aug. 8. – JW’s Car and Raccing Photos

Four laps later, Swedberg used the preferred high groove to close in on the cushion-pounding Parker. However, the caution came out again when Turk Letizia of Milwaukee stopped in turn two after contacting the front stretch wall on lap 13.

On lap 20, Parker caught the rear of the field, which gave Swedberg a chance to reel in the lead gap. Four laps later, Swedberg used the low line to briefly pull even with the high-riding Parker. However, Parker turned back Swedberg’s advances to maintain the top spot.

Two more caution flags slowed the pace in the closing laps, but it didn’t deter Parker, who rolled to his second career PDTR Late Model A-main victory and first at The Plymouth Dirt Track since May 4, 2019.

Swedberg had to settle for second, seventh starter Nick Anvelink of Bonduel placed third, 2025 Super Six Late Model champion Taylor Scheffler of Waukesha charged up from the 16th starting spot to finish fourth, and third starter Justin Ritchie of New London placed fifth.

Polesitter Derek Kaat outdueled three-time PDTR Grand National champion Brad Lubach of Kiel to lead the opening circuit of the Grand National main event.

Kaat moved out to a half-straightaway cushion over Lubach in the first half of the race before the lone caution flag of the race was displayed on lap 14 for a two-car incident in turn two.

The restart generated some tense action as Lubach battled back to challenge Kaat for the lead in turn one on lap 17. The two raced side by side over the next three laps before Lubach contacted an infield tire, prompting him to fall back in the field.

Derek Kaat of Plymouth collected his first career Oostburg Automotive Grand National A main victory in Plymouth Dirt Track Racing action at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, Aug. 8. – JW’s Car and Raccing Photos

With Kaat solidly in front of the field, a heated five-car battle ensued for the runner-up spot, which included three-wide maneuvering on lap 22. Sixth starter Josh Pierce of Adell emerged from the spirited scrum to secure second as the laps wound down.

Kaat went on to seize the first PDTR Grand National A-main victory of his career. Pierce was second, fourth starter Jason Juech of Plymouth took third, 2022 PDTR Grand National champion Luke Scholten of Oostburg, who started 10th, was fourth, and Dustin Weiss of Iron Ridge, who started ninth, placed fifth.

After outside front row starter Parker Glander of Sheboygan Falls led the opening lap of the B Mod main event, Travis Kleindl of Beaver Dam moved up from the third starting position to take over the top spot on lap 2.

After a series of three consecutive caution flags beginning on lap 5, 12th starter Colten Van Hierden, in his first outing of the 2026 campaign at Plymouth, showed his strength by riding the cushion into second after a lap 9 restart.

One lap later, Van Hierden powered around Kleindl to steal the top spot in turn two. However, Kleindl didn’t back down as he moved in to draw up next to Van Hierden on lap 12 before nosing his way back into the lead on lap 13.

However, Van Hierden regrouped to regain the advantage one lap later. Three more caution flags followed in rapid succession starting on lap 16. When the race went green again, 2017 PDTR B Mod champion Justin Green of Sheboygan Falls, who started ninth, bolted in to pressure Van Hierden for the top spot.

Green went low to draw even with Van Hierden on lap 20. However, the lively battle halted when the seventh and final caution flag of the race was displayed for a stalled car on lap 21.

After a single-file restart, Van Hierden powered away en route to his fifth career PDTR A-main win and first triumph at Plymouth since the 2024 season.

Green placed second, Kleindl wound up third, fifth starter Brandon Knepprath of Boltonville finished fourth, and 2018 PDTR B Mod champion Tim Sheppard of Beaver Dam took fifth from the 13th starting position.

Taylor Scheffler recorded fastest overall qualifier accolades in Super Six Late Model Series qualifying with a lap of 13.354 seconds.

Thiel goes two for MSA two at Angell Park

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) August 2, 2026 – Scotty Thiel of Sheboygan stayed perfect on the 2026 MMW Industrial Supply Midwest Sprint Car Association season, racking up his second A-main victory of the year in the 25-lap headliner at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis., on Sunday, Aug. 2.

Three-time MSA champion and current point leader Ben Schmidt of Plymouth jumped into the lead in the first turn of the opening lap from the pole, while third starter T.J. Smith of Greenville followed in second, and outside front row starter Tristan Furseth of Cambridge slipped into third.

On lap 3, Furseth powered past Smith to assume the runner-up spot. Two laps later, Schmidt caught the back of the pack and began to slice his way through slower traffic on the undulating track surface.

Utilizing the tricky outside line, Furseth closed in on Schmidt as the leaders hit dense lapped traffic in the middle stages of the race. Scotty Thiel, who started seventh, slid past Smith to take over third on lap 12.

Meanwhile, Furseth shot around Schmidt in turn two on lap 13 to take over the top spot. However, Furseth’s lead was short-lived as the hard-charging Thiel dove low to grab the lead exiting turn four on lap 15.

One lap later, the lone caution flag of the race flew for the stalled car of Ryan Sawusch. When the race resumed, Thiel bolted away while Furseth and Schmidt engaged in an epic duel for second, racing side by side for several laps before Furseth finally surged ahead by lap 20.

After building up a full-straightaway cushion, heavy lapped traffic bogged Thiel down during the closing circuits, which allowed Furseth to close quickly.

Thiel, who won his only other 2026 MSA start at Eagle River Speedway on July 4, stayed steady to wheel the Randy Sippel-owned 39s machine to his second A-main victory of the year and 17th career MSA triumph.

Furseth finished an MSA career-best second, Schmidt wound up third, eighth starter Tyler Davis of Franklin placed fourth and Smith rounded out the top five.

“The track had a lot of character tonight,” Thiel said. “It got a little treacherous for me at the end. I searched around a lot and found something where I could make up a lot of speed on the top in [turns] 1 and 2. It’s fun racing for [car owner] Randy [Sippel]. He always gives me a good piece.”

T.J. Smith was the fastest overall qualifier in the 23-car field with a lap of 14.176 seconds on the historic third-mile clay oval.

The MMW Industrial Supply Midwest Sprint Car Association returns to action on Saturday, Aug. 8, for kids coin and candy drop, coloring contest, and glow stick giveaway night at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis.

Pit gates open at 3 p.m. Spectator gates open at 4:30 p.m. with hot laps at 5:30 p.m. and racing at 6 p.m.

Arenz seals 75th career feature victory

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 29, 2026 – In a season highlighted by remarkable consistency, Travis Arenz broke through to score his first A-main victory of the year in Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series competition at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis., and run his overall career feature victory tally to 75 on Sunday, July 26.

With 23 IRA Sprint Cars signed in, Arenz opened the night by qualifying seventh with a time of 13.485 seconds around the historic third-mile Angell Park clay oval.

After starting and finishing second in the first IRA heat race, the Sheboygan Falls, Wis. driver drew the pole position for the first IRA dash and brought it home first to claim the pole position for the 30-lap main event.

From the drop of the green flag Arenz was the class of field throughout the race, pulling away from the pack on three restarts, including one open red, and skillfully slicing his way through lapped traffic on the way to his first main event win of the 2026 season, fourth IRA A-main victory, fifth triumph in the seat of a 410 Sprint Car and 75th overall career main event victory.

The IRA tripleheader weekend opened at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis. on Friday, July 24. After qualifying second in the 30-car field with a lap of 12.081 seconds, Arenz placed third in the second heat race and fourth in dash 1 to claim the seventh starting spot in the 30-lap IRA headliner.

The two-time Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion ran in the top five throughout the majority of the race en route to a strong fourth-place showing.

On Saturday, July 25, Arenz ventured to Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis. for the prestigious $10,000-to-win Jerry Richert Memorial.

With a stellar field of 41 cars on hand, Arenz qualified fifth in Flight B in 12.790 seconds before finishing second in the third heat race to gain the 12th starting slot in the 30-lap main event.

He fell back to 14th in the first half of the race before rallying in the closing stages to post a solid seventh-place finish.

Arenz’s outstanding weekend vaulted him to the top of the IRA point standings with 10 races remaining in the 2026 season.

“I’m very pleased with the results from a long and tiring weekend,” Arenz said. “I wouldn’t say we had any horrible nights, but there is always room for improvement. After Saturday night, I had taken over the points lead, so I knew there was no question that I needed to be smooth and consistent on Sunday at Angell Park to maintain or increase our lead.

“From qualifying in the middle of the group, I was able to make the dash,” he said. “I had a little luck on my side to draw the dash starting position and earn the pole position come feature time. I knew I had to be aggressive to maneuver lap traffic but also be smooth enough to keep the car under me through the ruts. Keeping the car free was the key to the win.”

Of Arenz’s 75 main event wins, 30 have been with the Midwest Sprint Car Association/Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Cars, as well as 20 apiece in the Outlaw Compact 4-Cylinder and IMCA Northern Sport Mod/Plymouth Dirt Track Racing B Mod divisions. He also owns four IRA 410 Sprint Car feature wins, along with a $26,000 High Limit Racing 410 Sprint Car victory.

Next up for Arenz and the members of the Travis Arenz Motorsports Team is a return to their home track – The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. – where Arenz has recorded a total of 38 A-main wins in four different divisions over 19 seasons of competition.

Spectator gates open at 4:30 p.m. with “on-track action” commencing at 5:30 p.m.

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 28, 2026 – One week after bagging his first career A-main win at River Cities Speedway in North Dakota, Austin Hartmann, along with the members of the 87A Hartmann Racing Team, trekked to northwestern Wisconsin for a pair of Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series events July 24-25.

The doubleheader weekend fired up at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis. on Friday, July 24. With 30 cars checked in for the event, the Plymouth, Wis. driver opened the night with a strong seventh-place qualifying run in 12.239 seconds at the picturesque third-mile high-banked clay oval.

After starting on the outside of the front row of the first IRA heat race, the driver of the pole-sitting car slipped up into Hartmann as the two competitors dueled for the lead on the opening lap. The contact forced Hartmann to visit the work area for repairs. After restarting the race at the rear of the field, he ended up with a ninth-place finish.

The seventh-year Sprint Car competitor rebounded to race his way into a berth in the evening’s main event by placing third in the 12-lap B main. Hartmann started 22nd in the 30-lap IRA headliner and capped the night with an 18th-place showing.

One night later, Hartmann and crew traveled north with the IRA to the Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., for the Jerry Richert Memorial.

After qualifying 12th in Flight A in 12.574 seconds, Hartmann placed eighth in the second heat race. He advanced from the fifth starting spot to place third in the first 10-lap B main to miss qualifying for the 30-lap main event by one spot.

“It was a rough weekend,” Hartmann said. “Our night got changed in a big way in the heat race on Friday, not by my doing. On Saturday, we unloaded decent. We just needed to make better decisions on setup. Also, bringing out a new engine for the weekend really changed the feel of the car.”

Schmidt equals Plymouth 360 Sprint Car pinnacle

Lubach, Kleindl, Waelti secure A-main victories

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 25, 2026 – Two-time Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion Ben Schmidt of Plymouth nailed down a share of the division’s all-time career A-main victory record in claiming his sixth triumph of the 2026 campaign during Christmas in July at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis., on Saturday, July 25.

Three-time division champion Brad Lubach of Kiel returned to Plymouth victory lane in the 25-lap Oostburg Automotive Grand National main event.

Travis Kleindl of Beaver Dam collected his first career Sheboygan Flooring B Mod A-main win in the 25-lap main event.

Badger Midget point leader Brandon Waelti of Sun Prairie emerged victorious in the 25-lap A-main.

After rolling off from the pole, Ben Schmidt outpowered defending PDTR 360 Sprint Car track champion Kevin Karnitz of West Bend, who started second, to secure the lead on the opening lap of the 25-lap main event.

Schmidt caught the rear of the field on lap 6, which allowed Karnitz to close the lead gap. Three laps later, the red flag flew for Justin Erickson’s flip in turn two.

Following the restart, fifth starter Tyler Davis of Franklin bolted in to pressure Karnitz for the runner-up spot. The two competitors engaged in a heated duel before making contact in turn two on lap 10. The collision sent Davis hard into the wall, while Karnitz also suffered considerable damage to end the night for both drivers.

Schmidt controlled the restart while third starter Tristan Furseth of Cambridge assumed second in the running order with Billy Kreutz of Kiel, who started eighth, settling into third.

On lap 15, the leaders hit slower traffic, which gave Furseth a chance to get a closer view of the back side of Schmidt’s No. 35 machine. While immersed in lapped cars, Schmidt received a push into the back stretch wall on lap 19.

However, the 27th-year veteran recovered swiftly to maintain the lead on the way to the 33rd A-main victory of his PDTR 360 Sprint Car career to place him in a tie with Brandon McMullen at the top of the division’s all-time main event victory list.

It was also Schmidt’s sixth main event win of the 2026 campaign and the 58th victory of his Midwest Sprint Car Association career.

Furseth earned a career-best runner-up showing, Kreutz was third, T.J. Smith of Greenville moved up from the 15th starting spot to place fourth, and Joseph Hintz of Burnett placed fifth after starting fourth.

After two aborted starts for consecutive multi-car spins at the front of the pack, 2022 PDTR Grand National champion Luke Scholten of Oostburg, who was originally slated to start fifth, grabbed the initial lead after advancing to an outside front row starting position for the third attempt to begin the race.

Following another caution for a single-car spin on lap 3, sixth starter Dustin Weiss of Iron Ridge charged in to seize second and quickly set his sights on the lead. Weiss pulled even with Scholten along the outside groove on lap 6. After the two drivers raced side by side for several laps, Scholten retained full control of the lead through the halfway point.

After Scholten caught lapped traffic on lap 16, Weiss powered in to pull off a low move in turn four and take over the lead on lap 17. His advantage was short-lived, though, as eighth starter Brad Lubach followed Weiss into second and wrestled the lead away one lap later behind the wheel of an IMCA Stock Car.

A single-file restart following a lap 21 caution saw Lubach bolt away from the pack to seal his division-leading 25th career PDTR Grand National A-main victory and first triumph of the 2026 season at Plymouth.

Dustin Weiss was second, Scholten placed third, 10th starter Jeff Muehlbauer of Elkhart Lake was fourth and 2018 PDTR Grand National champ Tyler Kulow of Plymouth took fifth from the 11th starting position.

Travis Kleindl of Beaver Dam secured his first career Sheboygan Flooring B Mod A-main triumph y at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, July 25. – JW’s Car and Raccing Photos

Travis Kleindl seized the lead on the opening lap of the B Mod main event from the pole. Beginning on lap 4, third starter Spencer Long of Sheboygan Falls used the low line to challenge the high-riding Kleindl for the top spot. After three laps of side-by-side action, Kleindl separated himself from Long starting on lap 7.

Kleindl went on to build a half-straightaway lead cushion before the lone caution flag came out on lap 21 for a single-car spin. Following a single-file restart, Long mounted a brief bid for the lead before Kleindl pulled away to earn his first career PDTR B Mod A-main win.

Long was second, Matt Urban of Milwaukee advanced from the fifth starting spot to take third, seventh starter Brad Buckman of Kiel was fourth and Sheboygan’s Steve Lorier advanced from the eighth starting position to round out the top five.

Starting from the inside of the second row, Derek Crane of Racine vaulted into the lead on the first lap of the Badger Midget main event. After the lone caution of the race appeared on lap 3 for a stalled car in turn four, Brandon Waelti made his presence felt, bolting to second from the eighth starting position on the restart.

Three laps later, Waelti shot past Crane to gain the lead. The current Badger Midget points leader dominated the rest of the way, building up a big half-lap advantage on the way to his third consecutive Badger Midget victory, fourth A-main win of the 2026 campaign, and 29th main event triumph of his Badger Midget career.

Cody Weisensel of Sun Prairie moved up from the sixth starting position to take second, Crane was third, Luke Wackerlin of Maple Park, Ill. placed fourth after starting seventh, and fifth starter Eric Blumer of Sun Prairie took fifth.

Tristan Furseth earned fastest overall qualifier honors in the PDTR 360 Sprint Car division with a lap of 12.310 seconds.

Miles Doherty of Delmar, Iowa, set a new Plymouth Dirt Track Badger Midgets track record by registering the fastest qualifying lap of the night in 13.500 seconds.

The 11th event of the 2026 PDTR campaign, sponsored by JDL Automotive and Detailing, attracted 84 total cars, including 25 360 Sprint Cars, 22 Badger Midgets, 20 Grand Nationals, and 17 B Mods.

As part of the evening’s Christmas in July festivities, kids had an opportunity to decorate their own Christmas stocking filled with goodies courtesy of Klips & Tips Salon of Plymouth.

The Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series is set to make its second of three 2026 appearances at The Plymouth Dirt Track this Saturday, Aug. 1. The Akright Auto 360 Sprint Cars and IRA Lightning Sprints are also on the all-Open Wheel card, sponsored by Otte Bus Services.

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 22, 2026 – After a two-weekend hiatus from competition, Travis Arenz and the members of the Travis Arenz Motorsports Team hit the road on Saturday, July 18, for a $5,000-to-win unsanctioned event at Butler Motor Speedway in Quincy, Mich.

The evening was not what Arenz hoped for as his 25T machine was plagued by mechanical issues, which hampered his efforts throughout the racing program.

After qualifying 13th with a lap of 14.192 seconds around the 3/8-mile high-banked dirt oval, Arenz placed fourth in the first heat race to claim the 10th starting spot in the 25-lap main event.

The Sheboygan Falls, Wis. driver worked his way up to sixth on lap 15 and was running seventh when a motor issue forced him to drop out of the race on lap 21. He was credited with a 17th-place showing.

“We found a coolant leak during engine heat, so I missed firing off,” Arenz said. “I also missed my qualifying position. I was able to go out dead last and get one lap of qualifying in. The feature was decent, but I didn’t go far enough on setup. I was battling for fifth when we lost the head gasket on the engine and ended up with a DNF [did not finish].”

After taking a month off, the Travis Arenz Motorsports team will return to Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series action with a tripleheader weekend starting this Friday, July 24, at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., before moving on to the prestigious $10,000-to-win Jerry Reichert Memorial at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., on Saturday, July 25, and finishing up Sunday, July 26, at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis.

All IRA events are streamed live on floracing.com.

Hartmann basks in first win glow

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 20, 2026 – While enduring seven seasons of ups, downs, and everything in between, Austin Hartmann and the 87A Hartmann Racing Team embraced a can-do attitude and steadfast dedication to a sport that is as tough as it is unforgiving.

On Friday, July 17, everything fell into place as Hartmann drove his 87A machine to his first career A-main victory in the 30-lap Midwest Sprint Touring Series-Northern Outlaw Sprint Association Buffalo Wild Wings King of the Wings event at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D.

Hartmann headed into the night with fond memories of a Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association event on July 19, 2024, during which he led 10 laps of the A main on the way to a then-career-best fourth-place showing.

For the evening’s qualifying-free racing format, which featured a deep field of 33 MSTS-NOSA competitors, Hartmann came out strong, storming up five spots from seventh to place second in the fourth 10-lap heat race.

The Plymouth, Wis. driver’s stellar heat race run gave him an outside front row starting spot in the six-lap dash. After placing second in the dash, Hartman launched from second in the 30-lap main event.

After trailing Jack Croaker during the first three laps, Hartmann pounced to seize the lead on lap 4 and never looked back. The 2020 Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car Rookie of the Year endured a couple of caution and red flag periods over the final 26 laps to secure his maiden trip to victory lane.

Hartmann opened the team’s three-race Minnesota-North Dakota swing with a visit to Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minn., where 28 cars checked in for a Buffalo Wild Wings King of the Wings Midwest Sprint Touring Series and Northern Outlaw Sprint Car Association co-sanctioned event at the 3/8-mile semi-banked dirt oval.

The Plymouth, Wis. driver drew the pole position for the second heat race in the qualifying-free race format. Hartmann led all eight laps of the race on the way to his first heat race victory of the 2026 campaign, and a berth in the six-lap dash to set the front four rows of the 25-lap A main.

After placing seventh in the dash, Hartmann lined up from the inside of the fourth row for the main event. The seventh-year Sprint Car competitor endured a handful of caution periods to post a 12th-place showing.

On Saturday, July 18, Hartmann tallied a fifth-place heat race finish before ending up 23rd in the main event at Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon, Minn., to close out the tripleheader MSTS-NOSA King of the Wings weekend.

“Man, what a weekend!” Hartmann said. “It started off with two blown drive tires on the truck on the way to Ada, Minnesota, on Thursday. Friday night at River Cities really was a perfect night. Everything really went our way, and that’s what it takes to win these races. At the start of that feature, I knew the inside was going to fire off better, so I tucked in and waited for my opportunity in traffic.

“Running 10-second laps while in traffic is no joke,” he said. “It was super tough to navigate where the guys were going, but we were able to move around to get by them. It was like a weight lifted off my shoulders Friday night after the checkers. You put so much into this sport, and it’ll show you time and time again that it owes you nothing. I’m super happy I could park it for my team and family. Without them, this isn’t possible. We’ll let this one soak in and gear up for a doubleheader this weekend.”

The 87A Hartmann Racing Team is slated to venture to the western part of Wisconsin this weekend for a pair of events with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association Sprint Car Series.

On Friday, July 24, the team will compete at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., before traveling to Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., for the prestigious $10,000-to-win Jerry Richert Memorial on Saturday, July 25.

Bennett, Taylor, Scholten, Sheppard seal Plymouth victories

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

Joel Bennett of Hortonville earned his second victory of the 2026 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing season in the 30-lap Seubert Calf Ranches Super Six Late Model Series presented by Sheboygan’s Rock Station 106.5 The Buzz A main at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, July 18. – JW’s Car and Raccing Photos

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 18, 2026 – Repeat winners, commanding performances, and a last-lap showstopper highlighted Plymouth Dirt Track Racing feature race action at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis., on Saturday, July 18.

Joel Bennett of Hortonville earned his second Seubert Calf Ranches Super Six Late Model Series presented by Sheboygan’s Rock Station 106.5 The Buzz A-main victory of the 2026 campaign in the 30-lap headliner.

Bill Taylor of Boltonville put together a dominating effort on the way to victory in the 25-lap Akright Auto PDTR 360 Sprint Car A feature.

Former division champion Luke Scholten of Oostburg earned his second A-main triumph of the season in the 25-lap Oostburg Automotive Grand National main event.

Past division champ Tim Sheppard of Beaver Dam pulled off a thrilling last corner pass en route to his second 2026 A-main win in the 25-lap Sheboygan Flooring B Mod A main.

Starting from the pole, Joel Bennett charged to the lead on the drop of the green flag in the Super Six Late Model Series main event, followed closely by outside front row starter Turk Letizia of Milwaukee.

Letizia briefly pressured Bennett for the top spot along the high groove on lap 3. However, Bennett pulled away and was never challenged the rest of the way.

Bennett went on to post his second Super Six Late Model A-main victory of the 2026 season and second career triumph at The Plymouth Dirt Track in the caution-free race.

Last year’s Super Six Late Model Series champion, Taylor Scheffler of Waukesha, placed second after starting fourth, six-time PDTR Late Model champ Brad Mueller of Random Lake placed third from the seventh starting position, Letizia finished fourth, and five-time PDTR Late Model champion Justin Schmidt of Cleveland took fifth after starting third.

Bill Taylor, who started on the pole, got the jump on the start to grab the lead in the 360 Sprint Car main event as defending division champion Kevin Karnitz of West Bend bolted into second from the fifth starting spot.

On lap 9, the leaders began working their way through slower traffic before the lone caution flag of the race appeared on lap 12 when Eric Wilke stopped along the frontstretch.

Following the restart, seventh starter Tyler Davis of Franklin slipped past Karnitz to take over second and went to work trying to chase down Taylor. As the leaders wound their way through the back of the field in the closing laps, Davis cut into the lead gap.

Davis mounted a spirited bid for the lead in the final circuits, but it was not quite enough as Taylor claimed his second career PDTR 360 Sprint Car A main victory and third overall Midwest Sprint Car Association main event win.

Davis had to settle for second, Karnitz was third, fourth starter T.J. Smith of Greenville placed fourth, and Waldo’s Chris Clayton rode the low line from the 14th starting spot to round out the top five.

Outside front row starter Jason Juech of Plymouth seized the lead at the start of the Grand National A main with fourth starter Greg Goschey of Slinger in pursuit in the early going.

Juech built up a big early lead before the first of four caution flags flew on lap 8 for a multi-car incident in turn four. Following the restart, Luke Scholten, who started fifth, moved up to take second on lap 9.

One lap later, Scholten swung past Juech to seize the lead with a low move in turn three. After three more caution flags appeared in rapid succession, Scholten held strong at the point while 2018 PDTR Grand National champion and last week’s Scott Weiss Memorial race winner Tyler Kulow of Plymouth moved up from his 12th starting position to break into the top three as the laps wound down.

Scholten held strong to collect his 20th career PDTR Grand National A-main victory and pull within four of all-time division wins leader Brad Lubach.

Kulow slipped underneath Juech, heading to the checkered flag to grab a runner-up finish. Juech was third, Jeff Muehlbauer of Elkhart Lake placed fourth from the seventh starting spot, and ninth starter Justin Miller of Plymouth was fifth.

Polesitter Travis Kleindl of Beaver Dam paced the opening laps before the first of three caution flags was displayed on lap 3. When the race resumed, third starter Rory Welch of Plymouth powered in to assume the top spot on laps 6 and 7. However, Kleindl battled back along the outside groove to retake the lead in turn four on lap 8.

On lap 11, Sheppard, who claimed the 2018 PDTR B Mod title, advanced from his ninth starting position to take second. After another caution period, Sheppard stalked Kleindl to mount a challenge along the low line.

After the third and final caution, Sheppard applied heavy pressure for the lead before finally pulling off the winning move with a nifty high-to-low maneuver exiting four to nip Kleindl at the finish line by a scant .141 of a second.

Sheppard’s thrilling victory was his second of the 2026 season and fourth of his PDTR B Mod career.

Kleindl placed second, 2017 PDTR B Mod champion Justin Green of Sheboygan Falls took third from the 11th starting position, 2024 division champ Travis Schmidt of Cascade charged up from the 12th starting spot to take fourth, and 17th starter Steve Lorier of Sheboygan rounded out the top five.

All four A-main winners earned an extra $100 and second-place finishers claimed an additional $25 courtesy of Larry Dietz of Next Step Consulting and Business Solutions.

Brok Clifcorn of Cottage Grove won the 12-lap PDTR 360 Sprint Car B Main.

Taylor Scheffler of Waukesha claimed overall fast qualifier honors in the Super Six Late Model Series with a lap of 13.277 seconds.

Tyler Davis earned fastest overall qualifier honors in the PDTR 360 Sprint Car division with a lap of 12.237 seconds.

The 10th event of the 2026 PDTR campaign, sponsored by Next Step Insurance, featured 77 total cars, including 27 360 Sprint Cars, 19 Grand Nationals, 18 B Mods, and 13 Late Models.

Hartmann tallies Outlaws’ best, set to head west

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 14, 2026 – Following a one-month break on the heels of a career-best 410 Sprint Car showing in their last outing, Austin Hartmann and the members of the 87A Hartmann Racing Team secured another career-best performance with the NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11.

With 33 cars checked in, Hartmann opened the weekend by qualifying 23rd with a time of 12.818 seconds before placing sixth in the third heat race. The sixth-year Sprint Car racer then rolled off fourth in the Last Chance Showdown (B Main) before advancing to second to wrap up the 22nd starting spot in the 35-lap main event.

Hartmann was running in the 22nd position when he pulled off the racing surface with seven laps remaining to end the night with a 22nd-place finish.

On Saturday, Hartmann qualified 24th in the 30-car field and placed seventh in the third heat race. After coming in fourth in the Last Chance Showdown, the Plymouth, Wis. driver rolled off 22nd in the 35-lap headliner.

Hartmann, who recorded a career-best fourth-place showing in a Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association event at Shawano Speedway on Saturday, June 13, proved to be smooth and steady throughout the event, dodging incidents and avoiding issues, advancing up the scoreboard en route to a World of Outlaws Series career-best 12th-place finish in a field brimming with touring professionals and regional standouts.

“We never quit working on the car all weekend,” Hartmann said. “Between Eric [Bergschultz] and me, we know what I want for a feel behind the wheel, and Ozzie [Wesener] has tons of experience throughout the years with multiple drivers. I think we’ve hit on something on Saturday. Our qualifying performance wasn’t up to par, but we bounced later in the night.”

The 87A Hartmann Racing Team is set to hit the road for a Buffalo Wild Wings King of the Wings tripleheader weekend in Minnesota and North Dakota with the Midwest Sprint Touring Series (MSTS) and Northern Outlaw Sprint Association (NOSA).

The weekend kicks off Thursday, July 16, at Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minn., before heading to River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D., on Friday, July 17, and wrapping up the three-race swing at Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon, Minn., on Saturday, July 18.

“I’m super excited with the speed we have for a tripleheader weekend out west with the MSTS and NOSA series,” Hartmann said. “River Cities is my favorite race track, and after a two-year hiatus, I’m excited to get back there. I couldn’t do it without all the support of family and sponsors.”

Pokorski mixes well with Outlaws

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 14, 2026 – Accumulating experience against the top drivers and teams in the Winged Sprint Car Racing world has been a focus of the 2026 season for Alex Pokorski and GR8 Team.

Making a NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series A main was at the top of the season goal list. Pokorski and the GR8 Team successfully checked that box during a doubleheader weekend with the Outlaws at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11.

The weekend fired off on a tough note for Pokorski when he clipped the turn-two wall on the opening lap of his qualifying effort on Friday. After failing to record a qualifying time, the West Bend, Wis. native started at the rear of the first heat race.

A seventh-place heat race effort placed him in the sixth starting position for the Outlaws Last Chance Showdown (B Main). Pokorski ended up finishing sixth in the 12-lap event to miss out on advancing to the A main by two positions.

With a clean slate on Saturday, July 11, Pokorski and the GR8 crew hit their stride, qualifying 17th in the 30-car field with a lap of 12.831 seconds around the tricky three-eighths semi-banked clay oval.

After starting sixth in heat 2, Pokorski dueled with 10-time World of Outlaws champion Donny Schatz for the final A-main transfer spot during the 8-lap race. In the end, Pokorski got the best of the Sprint Car legend to earn a berth in his first career World of Outlaws main event.

Pokorski’s A-main effort was hampered by a wing issue after launching from the 17th starting spot in the 35-lap main event. After retreating to the work area to fix the problem, Pokorski returned to score a 21st-place finish in his World of Outlaws main event debut.

“The weekend got off to a quite frustrating start, after catching a rut and putting it in the wall Friday for qualifying,” Pokorski said. “We improved a lot with some extra help in the pits on Saturday. It was fun to race with [Donny] Schatz in the heat race for the feature transfer spot. Our A main started well. But, I had to go to the work area due to losing a bolt in the wing slider. Later on, I faded a bit. Overall, we improved a lot and made the feature, which was our goal entering the night.”

After taking the upcoming weekend off, Pokorski and the GR8 Team will head west with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association to Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., on Friday, July 24, before heading to Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., for the $10,000-to-win Jerry Richert Memorial on Saturday, July 25.

Pokorski recorded a 410 Sprint Car career-best second-place showing in last year’s Jerry Richert Memorial IRA event at Cedar Lake Speedway.

Both races will be streamed live on floracing.com

Kulow captures PDTR Scott Weiss Memorial Wall of Fame victory

Mueller, Smith, Green, Ostrowski claim A-main triumphs

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 11, 2026 – With a strong, enthusiastic, and celebratory Wall of Fame Induction Night crowd on hand, 2018 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing Grand National champion Tyler Kulow of Plymouth turned in a night to remember by claiming a first-place prize of $1,053 in the special 53-lap Dirt Devil Grand National Series Scott Weiss Memorial Grand National A main presented by Oostburg Automotive on Saturday, July 11 at The Plymouth Dirt Track.

In other main event action, six-time PDTR Late Model champ Brad Mueller of Random Lake led flag-to-flag en route to his first Plymouth victory in three years in the 30-lap Seubert Calf Ranches Super Six Late Model Series presented by Sheboygan’s Rock Station 106.5 The Buzz main event.

T.J. Smith of Greenville used a late charge to notch his second A-main triumph of the 2026 campaign in a 25-lap Akright Auto PDTR 360 Sprint Car feature event, which featured three different leaders.

After a few years’ absence, 2017 division champion Justin Green of Sheboygan Falls returned to victory lane for the first time in five years in the 25-lap Sheboygan Flooring B Mod A main.

On the fifth annual Plymouth Racing Wall of Fame Induction Night, four-time Eastern Wisconsin Stock Car Winged Super Modified champion and 2024 Wall of Fame inductee Pete Ostrowski of East Troy took home a trophy in the special Vintage Modified feature.

Three-time PDTR Grand National champion Brad Lubach of Kiel jumped into the lead on the opening lap of the 53-lap Scott Weiss Memorial Grand National headliner from the outside front row starting spot.

Behind the wheel of the 41k car normally driven by Katelyn Sohrweide, Lubach dominated the first half of the race, leading up to a scheduled stop on lap 24 to allow crews to add fuel for the extended-lap event.

When the green flag flew to commence the second half of the race, Kulow, who started 11th, wasted little time jumping to the outside groove to charge into second following the restart. On lap 25, Kulow bolted past Lubach to claim the lead in turn one.

The third of four caution flags flew on lap 28 before the final caution was displayed on lap 29. Following a single-file restart, Kulow again blasted away from the field on the way to a half-lap margin of victory for his second A-main triumph of the 2026 season and 14th career PDTR Grand National main event win.

Kulow’s victory was worth $1,053 in a race contested in memory of the late Scott Weiss, a former racer and the father of current PDTR Grand National competitor Dustin Weiss, who passed away in May.

Lubach had to settle for second, 87-year-old Dick Hed of Plymouth started and finished third, Will Schumacher of Hartford raced up from the 17th starting position to place fourth, and fifth starter Jack Wiroll of Sheboygan rounded out the top five.

Brad Mueller seized the top spot on the opening lap of the Super Six Late Model Series main event from the pole before the first of two caution flags was thrown on lap 2 following contact between Paul Parker and Joel Bennett in turn four.

On the restart, Mueller pulled away while third starter Justin Ritchie of New London worked his way into second on lap 4. Following a pair of caution flags on lap 17, fifth starter Brett Swedberg of Shawano inched ahead of Ritchie to seize the runner-up spot on lap 18.

Meanwhile, Mueller controlled the pace before catching up to the rear of the field on the final circuit. While Mueller got hung up briefly by a lapped car, Swedberg closed significantly on Mueller in the closing lap. However, Mueller held on to secure his first Super Six Late Model Series A-main win at Plymouth since May 6, 2023, and the 25th main event victory of his PDTR Late Model career.

Swedberg was second, Ritchie placed third, five-time PDTR Late Model champ Justin Schmidt of Cleveland placed fourth after starting eighth, and ninth starter Turk Letizia of Milwaukee rounded out the top five.

For the second A main in a row at Plymouth, Katelyn Krebsbach of Johnsburg, who started second, grabbed the lead on the opening circuit of the 25-lap 360 Sprint Car main event.

On lap 3, a red flag appeared when Ryan Sawusch flipped and made hard contact with the fence in turn one. His car suffered heavy damage, but Sawusch was able to escape uninjured.

Following the restart, PDTR 360 Sprint Car rookie Ethon Stear of Hebron, Ill., who started on the pole, rode the high groove to pressure Krebsbach for the top spot. On lap 9, Stear pounced with a low move in turn three to come out with the lead.

However, Krebsbach battled back and regained the lead in turn two one lap later. While Stear stayed with the top side, fourth starter T.J. Smith went to work on the bottom of the speedway.

On lap 16, Smith gained second and, two laps later, he pulled ahead of the high-riding Krebsbach in turn four. After a caution flag flew on lap 19 for Tom Becker’s spin, defending PDTR 360 Sprint Car champion Kevin Karnitz of West Bend used the high line to vault his way from fourth to second on lap 20.

The cushion-pounding Karnitz nearly pulled even with the low-riding Smith, but he was unable to secure the pass. As the top groove faded, Krebsbach repassed Karnitz to regain second.

Justin Green of Sheboygan Falls collected his ninth career Sheboygan Flooring Plymouth Dirt Track Racing B Mod main event triumph at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, July 11. – RC Custom Design photo

Smith could not be denied as he cruised to his second victory of the 2026 campaign and fourth career PDTR 360 Sprint Car A-Main win. Krebsbach nailed down a career-best A-main finish with a strong runner-up showing, Karnitz placed third, PDTR 360 Sprint Car rookie Carter Chevalier of Andover, Minn., took fourth from the third starting spot, and Justin Erickson of Plymouth, who started seventh, rounded out the top five.

Outside front row starter Brad Buckman of Kiel led the opening laps of the 25-lap B Mod main event before Steve Lorier of Sheboygan brought out the first caution of the race after contacting the wall exiting turn two on lap 6.

When the race resumed, Justin Green powered up from the ninth starting position to assume second on lap 6. Three laps later, Green swept his way into the lead in turn four.

Another caution flag slowed the pace on lap 14, but it didn’t hinder Green as he pulled away to earn his first A-main victory since July 17, 2021, and his ninth career PDTR B Mod main event win.

After starting 11th, 2024 PDTR B Mod champion Travis Schmidt of Cascade placed second, Buckman was third, Vince Jung of Iron Ridge took fourth after starting fifth, and 2018 PDTR B Mod champ Tim Sheppard of Beaver Dam, who started 10th, rounded out the top five.

A last row starting spot was no problem for Plymouth Winged Super Modified legend Pete Ostrowski, who raced his familiar red No. 7 car to a dominating win in the Vintage Modified main event.

Rookie Hayden Schmuhl of Beaver Dam earned his first-ever PDTR 360 Sprint Car race victory in the 12-lap B Main.

Matt Urban of Milwaukee was victorious in the 12-lap PDTR Grand National B main.

Brett Swedberg earned overall fast qualifier honors in the Super Six Late Model Series with a lap of 14.768 seconds.

Bill Taylor of Boltonville was the fastest qualifier overall in the PDTR 360 Sprint Car division with a lap of 13.903 seconds.

Thiel takes Eagle River MSA triumph

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 4, 2026 – In his first MMW Industrial Supply Midwest Sprint Car Association start of the 2026 season, Scotty Thiel of Sheboygan, Wis., drove to a convincing victory in the caution-free 25-lap main event to highlight the MSA’s fourth annual appearance at Eagle River Speedway in Eagle River, Wis., on Saturday, July 4.

After rolling off from the outside of the front row, Thiel dueled side by side with polesitter Katelyn Krebsbach of Johnsburg, Wis., on the opening circuit before inching ahead to lead the opening lap.

Krebsbach battled back along the low groove, entering turn one on lap 2, but the high-riding Thiel seized control of the top spot exiting turn two. Thiel wasted little time in building up a solid cushion over Krebsbach before catching up to the rear of the field on lap 7.

Thiel, who began his Sprint Car racing career with the MSA in 2008, didn’t allow lapped traffic to hinder his pace as he sliced his way through the back of the pack with precision to build a full straightaway advantage just past the halfway point.

On lap 15, 2025 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion Kevin Karnitz of West Bend, who started third, slipped past Krebsbach to take over second amongst thick lapped traffic.

Three laps later, Chris Clayton of Waldo used his familiar low line to grab third. Clayton then pulled up to challenge Karnitz for second as the laps wound down, but he was unable to snag the spot.

Meanwhile, Thiel cruised to his 16th career MSA A-main victory in the non-stop contest. Karnitz came home second, Clayton was third, eighth starter T.J. Smith of Greenville took fourth, and Carter Chevalier of Andover, Minn., who started fourth, rounded out the top five.

In victory lane, Thiel credited his car owner, Randy Sippel, with whom he has enjoyed plenty of success in limited MSA starts.

“I’m having a lot of fun,” Thiel said. “It’s always a pleasure to drive Randy’s cars. This win means more than any other we’ve had together. He lost his dad this week. We made some changes before the feature, and the car felt great.”

T.J. Smith topped the 22-car MSA field to earn overall fast qualifier honors with a lap of 13.549 seconds around the third-mile semi-banked, D-shaped clay oval.

Katelyn Krebsbach won the six-lap MSA dash to earn the pole position for the main event.

The MMW Industrial Supply Midwest Sprint Car Association is set to return to action on Saturday, July 11, for Wall of Fame Induction Night at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis.

Pit gates open at 3 p.m. Spectator gates open at 4:30 p.m. with hot laps at 5:30 p.m. and racing at 6 p.m.
