(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 14, 2026 – Following a one-month break on the heels of a career-best 410 Sprint Car showing in their last outing, Austin Hartmann and the members of the 87A Hartmann Racing Team secured another career-best performance with the NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11.

With 33 cars checked in, Hartmann opened the weekend by qualifying 23rd with a time of 12.818 seconds before placing sixth in the third heat race. The sixth-year Sprint Car racer then rolled off fourth in the Last Chance Showdown (B Main) before advancing to second to wrap up the 22nd starting spot in the 35-lap main event.

Hartmann was running in the 22nd position when he pulled off the racing surface with seven laps remaining to end the night with a 22nd-place finish.

On Saturday, Hartmann qualified 24th in the 30-car field and placed seventh in the third heat race. After coming in fourth in the Last Chance Showdown, the Plymouth, Wis. driver rolled off 22nd in the 35-lap headliner.

Hartmann proved to be smooth and steady throughout the event, dodging incidents and avoiding issues, advancing up the scoreboard en route to a World of Outlaws Series career-best 12th-place finish in a field filled with touring professionals and regional standouts.

“We never quit working on the car all weekend,” Hartmann said. “Between Eric [Bergschultz] and me, we know what I want for a feel behind the wheel, and Ozzie [Wesener] has tons of experience throughout the years with multiple drivers. I think we’ve hit on something on Saturday. Our qualifying performance wasn’t up to par, but we bounced later in the night.”

The 87A Hartmann Racing Team is set to hit the road for a Buffalo Wild Wings King of the Wings tripleheader weekend in Minnesota and North Dakota with the Midwest Sprint Touring Series (MSTS) and Northern Outlaw Sprint Association (NOSA).

The weekend kicks off Thursday, July 16, at Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minn., before heading to River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D., on Friday, July 17, and wrapping up the three-race swing at Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon, Minn., on Saturday, July 18.

“I’m super excited with the speed we have for a tripleheader weekend out west with the MSTS and NOSA series,” Hartmann said. “River Cities is my favorite race track, and after a two-year hiatus, I’m excited to get back there. I couldn’t do it without all the support of family and sponsors.”

Pokorski mixes well with Outlaws

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 14, 2026 – Accumulating experience against the top drivers and teams in the Winged Sprint Car Racing world has been a focus of the 2026 season for Alex Pokorski and GR8 Team.

Making a NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series A main was at the top of the season goal list. Pokorski and the GR8 Team successfully checked that box during a doubleheader weekend with the Outlaws at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11.

The weekend fired off on a tough note for Pokorski when he clipped the turn-two wall on the opening lap of his qualifying effort on Friday. After failing to record a qualifying time, the West Bend, Wis. native started at the rear of the first heat race.

A seventh-place heat race finish placed him in the sixth starting position for the Outlaws Last Chance Showdown (B Main). Pokorski ended up finishing sixth in the 12-lap event to miss out on advancing to the A main by two positions.

With a clean slate on Saturday, July 11, Pokorski and the GR8 crew hit their stride, qualifying 17th in the 30-car field with a lap of 12.831 seconds around the tricky three-eighths semi-banked clay oval.

After starting sixth in heat 2, Pokorski dueled with 10-time World of Outlaws champion Donny Schatz for the final A-main transfer spot during the 8-lap race. In the end, Pokorski got the best of the Sprint Car legend to earn a berth in his first career World of Outlaws main event.

Pokorski’s A-main effort was hampered by a wing issue after launching from the 17th starting spot in the 35-lap main event. After retreating to the work area to fix the problem, Pokorski returned to score a 21st-place finish in his World of Outlaws main event debut.

“The weekend got off to a quite frustrating start, after catching a rut and putting it in the wall Friday for qualifying,” Pokorski said. “We improved a lot with some extra help in the pits on Saturday. It was fun to race with [Donny] Schatz in the heat race for the feature transfer spot. Our A main started well. But, I had to go to the work area due to losing a bolt in the wing slider. Later on, I faded a bit. Overall, we improved a lot and made the feature, which was our goal entering the night.”

After taking the upcoming weekend off, Pokorski and the GR8 Team will head west with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association to Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., on Friday, July 24, before heading to Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., for the $10,000-to-win Jerry Richert Memorial on Saturday, July 25.

Pokorski recorded a 410 Sprint Car career-best second-place showing in last year’s Jerry Richert Memorial IRA event at Cedar Lake Speedway.

Both races will be streamed live on floracing.com

Kulow captures PDTR Scott Weiss Memorial Wall of Fame victory

Mueller, Smith, Green, Ostrowski claim A-main triumphs

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 11, 2026 – With a strong, enthusiastic, and celebratory Wall of Fame Induction Night crowd on hand, 2018 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing Grand National champion Tyler Kulow of Plymouth turned in a night to remember by claiming a first-place prize of $1,053 in the special 53-lap Dirt Devil Grand National Series Scott Weiss Memorial Grand National A main presented by Oostburg Automotive on Saturday, July 11 at The Plymouth Dirt Track.

In other main event action, six-time PDTR Late Model champ Brad Mueller of Random Lake led flag-to-flag en route to his first Plymouth victory in three years in the 30-lap Seubert Calf Ranches Super Six Late Model Series presented by Sheboygan’s Rock Station 106.5 The Buzz main event.

T.J. Smith of Greenville used a late charge to notch his second A-main triumph of the 2026 campaign in a 25-lap Akright Auto PDTR 360 Sprint Car feature event, which featured three different leaders.

After a few years’ absence, 2017 division champion Justin Green of Sheboygan Falls returned to victory lane for the first time in five years in the 25-lap Sheboygan Flooring B Mod A main.

On the fifth annual Plymouth Racing Wall of Fame Induction Night, four-time Eastern Wisconsin Stock Car Winged Super Modified champion and 2024 Wall of Fame inductee Pete Ostrowski of East Troy took home a trophy in the special Vintage Modified feature.

Three-time PDTR Grand National champion Brad Lubach of Kiel jumped into the lead on the opening lap of the 53-lap Scott Weiss Memorial Grand National headliner from the outside front row starting spot.

Behind the wheel of the 41k car normally driven by Katelyn Sohrweide, Lubach dominated the first half of the race, leading up to a scheduled stop on lap 24 to allow crews to add fuel for the extended-lap event.

When the green flag flew to commence the second half of the race, Kulow, who started 11th, wasted little time jumping to the outside groove to charge into second following the restart. On lap 25, Kulow bolted past Lubach to claim the lead in turn one.

The third of four caution flags flew on lap 28 before the final caution was displayed on lap 29. Following a single-file restart, Kulow again blasted away from the field on the way to a half-lap margin of victory for his second A-main triumph of the 2026 season and 14th career PDTR Grand National main event win.

Kulow’s victory was worth $1,053 in a race contested in memory of the late Scott Weiss, a former racer and the father of current PDTR Grand National competitor Dustin Weiss, who passed away in May.

Lubach had to settle for second, 87-year-old Dick Hed of Plymouth started and finished third, Will Schumacher of Hartford raced up from the 17th starting position to place fourth, and fifth starter Jack Wiroll of Sheboygan rounded out the top five.

Brad Mueller seized the top spot on the opening lap of the Super Six Late Model Series main event from the pole before the first of two caution flags was thrown on lap 2 following contact between Paul Parker and Joel Bennett in turn four.

On the restart, Mueller pulled away while third starter Justin Ritchie of New London worked his way into second on lap 4. Following a pair of caution flags on lap 17, fifth starter Brett Swedberg of Shawano inched ahead of Ritchie to seize the runner-up spot on lap 18.

Meanwhile, Mueller controlled the pace before catching up to the rear of the field on the final circuit. While Mueller got hung up briefly by a lapped car, Swedberg closed significantly on Mueller in the closing lap. However, Mueller held on to secure his first Super Six Late Model Series A-main win at Plymouth since May 6, 2023, and the 25th main event victory of his PDTR Late Model career.

Swedberg was second, Ritchie placed third, five-time PDTR Late Model champ Justin Schmidt of Cleveland placed fourth after starting eighth, and ninth starter Turk Letizia of Milwaukee rounded out the top five.

For the second A main in a row at Plymouth, Katelyn Krebsbach of Johnsburg, who started second, grabbed the lead on the opening circuit of the 25-lap 360 Sprint Car main event.

On lap 3, a red flag appeared when Ryan Sawusch flipped and made hard contact with the fence in turn one. His car suffered heavy damage, but Sawusch was able to escape uninjured.

Following the restart, PDTR 360 Sprint Car rookie Ethon Stear of Hebron, Ill., who started on the pole, rode the high groove to pressure Krebsbach for the top spot. On lap 9, Stear pounced with a low move in turn three to come out with the lead.

However, Krebsbach battled back and regained the lead in turn two one lap later. While Stear stayed with the top side, fourth starter T.J. Smith went to work on the bottom of the speedway.

On lap 16, Smith gained second and, two laps later, he pulled ahead of the high-riding Krebsbach in turn four. After a caution flag flew on lap 19 for Tom Becker’s spin, defending PDTR 360 Sprint Car champion Kevin Karnitz of West Bend used the high line to vault his way from fourth to second on lap 20.

The cushion-pounding Karnitz nearly pulled even with the low-riding Smith, but he was unable to secure the pass. As the top groove faded, Krebsbach repassed Karnitz to regain second.

Justin Green of Sheboygan Falls collected his ninth career Sheboygan Flooring Plymouth Dirt Track Racing B Mod main event triumph at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, July 11. – RC Custom Design photo

Smith could not be denied as he cruised to his second victory of the 2026 campaign and fourth career PDTR 360 Sprint Car A-Main win. Krebsbach nailed down a career-best A-main finish with a strong runner-up showing, Karnitz placed third, PDTR 360 Sprint Car rookie Carter Chevalier of Andover, Minn., took fourth from the third starting spot, and Justin Erickson of Plymouth, who started seventh, rounded out the top five.

Outside front row starter Brad Buckman of Kiel led the opening laps of the 25-lap B Mod main event before Steve Lorier of Sheboygan brought out the first caution of the race after contacting the wall exiting turn two on lap 6.

When the race resumed, Justin Green powered up from the ninth starting position to assume second on lap 6. Three laps later, Green swept his way into the lead in turn four.

Another caution flag slowed the pace on lap 14, but it didn’t hinder Green as he pulled away to earn his first A-main victory since July 17, 2021, and his ninth career PDTR B Mod main event win.

After starting 11th, 2024 PDTR B Mod champion Travis Schmidt of Cascade placed second, Buckman was third, Vince Jung of Iron Ridge took fourth after starting fifth, and 2018 PDTR B Mod champ Tim Sheppard of Beaver Dam, who started 10th, rounded out the top five.

A last row starting spot was no problem for Plymouth Winged Super Modified legend Pete Ostrowski, who raced his familiar red No. 7 car to a dominating win in the Vintage Modified main event.

Rookie Hayden Schmuhl of Beaver Dam earned his first-ever PDTR 360 Sprint Car race victory in the 12-lap B Main.

Matt Urban of Milwaukee was victorious in the 12-lap PDTR Grand National B main.

Brett Swedberg earned overall fast qualifier honors in the Super Six Late Model Series with a lap of 14.768 seconds.

Bill Taylor of Boltonville was the fastest qualifier overall in the PDTR 360 Sprint Car division with a lap of 13.903 seconds.

Thiel takes Eagle River MSA triumph

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

Scotty Thiel, pictured with car owner Randy Sippel, claimed his 16th career MMW Industrial Supply Midwest Sprint Car Association A-main victory in the series’ fourth annual visit to Eagle River Speedway in Eagle River, Wis. on Saturday, July 4. – MSA Sprints photo

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 4, 2026 – In his first MMW Industrial Supply Midwest Sprint Car Association start of the 2026 season, Scotty Thiel of Sheboygan, Wis., drove to a convincing victory in the caution-free 25-lap main event to highlight the MSA’s fourth annual appearance at Eagle River Speedway in Eagle River, Wis., on Saturday, July 4.

After rolling off from the outside of the front row, Thiel dueled side by side with polesitter Katelyn Krebsbach of Johnsburg, Wis., on the opening circuit before inching ahead to lead the opening lap.

Krebsbach battled back along the low groove, entering turn one on lap 2, but the high-riding Thiel seized control of the top spot exiting turn two. Thiel wasted little time in building up a solid cushion over Krebsbach before catching up to the rear of the field on lap 7.

Thiel, who began his Sprint Car racing career with the MSA in 2008, didn’t allow lapped traffic to hinder his pace as he sliced his way through the back of the pack with precision to build a full straightaway advantage just past the halfway point.

On lap 15, 2025 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion Kevin Karnitz of West Bend, who started third, slipped past Krebsbach to take over second amongst thick lapped traffic.

Three laps later, Chris Clayton of Waldo used his familiar low line to grab third. Clayton then pulled up to challenge Karnitz for second as the laps wound down, but he was unable to snag the spot.

Meanwhile, Thiel cruised to his 16th career MSA A-main victory in the non-stop contest. Karnitz came home second, Clayton was third, eighth starter T.J. Smith of Greenville took fourth, and Carter Chevalier of Andover, Minn., who started fourth, rounded out the top five.

In victory lane, Thiel credited his car owner, Randy Sippel, with whom he has enjoyed plenty of success in limited MSA starts.

“I’m having a lot of fun,” Thiel said. “It’s always a pleasure to drive Randy’s cars. This win means more than any other we’ve had together. He lost his dad this week. We made some changes before the feature, and the car felt great.”

T.J. Smith topped the 22-car MSA field to earn overall fast qualifier honors with a lap of 13.549 seconds around the third-mile semi-banked, D-shaped clay oval.

Katelyn Krebsbach won the six-lap MSA dash to earn the pole position for the main event.

The MMW Industrial Supply Midwest Sprint Car Association is set to return to action on Saturday, July 11, for Wall of Fame Induction Night at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis.

Pit gates open at 3 p.m. Spectator gates open at 4:30 p.m. with hot laps at 5:30 p.m. and racing at 6 p.m.

Buss rolls out ‘Road Map to Travel Sports’ book

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

David Buss has released his first book “Road Map to Travel Sports – From Someone Who Made a Few Wrong Turns” covering his personal experiences with the complicated world of youth travel sports.

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 1, 2026 – As the popularity of youth travel sports escalates, so do the challenges, complexities, and questions.

First-time author, David Buss, who has been down the youth travel sports road many times over, shares his experiences in the new book, “Road Map to Travel Sports – From Someone Who Made a Few Wrong Turns.”

Published through Pedal Down Promotions of Manitowoc, Wis., Buss’ first book offers guidance, perspective, and personal anecdotes about the youth travel sports culture.

“As a father, coach, mentor, and storyteller, I have spent more than a decade navigating the unpredictable highways of youth travel sports,” Buss said. “My experiences as a parent of multi-sport athletes, a coach, and someone deeply involved in the travel sports culture inspired me to write this book.

“Through countless miles on Midwest highways, early morning practices, late-night rides home, tournament weekends, and difficult conversations, I discovered that travel sports are about far more than wins and losses,” he said. “They are about family, growth, perspective, sacrifice, and learning how to support young athletes without losing sight of what matters most.”

“Road Map to Travel Sports – From Someone Who Made a Few Wrong Turns” author David Buss.

The Appleton, Wis. resident and financial advisor aims to assist parents, athletes and coaches who are navigating the travel sports landscape for the first time, as well as travel sports veterans seeking insight on fine tuning their approach.

“I like to share lessons learned not from perfection, but from experience – including the mistakes, missteps, and moments I wish I could do over,” Buss said. “I hope my writing encourages parents, coaches, and athletes to communicate better, align their voices, and remember that the journey matters as much as the destination.”

Copies of “Road Map to Travel Sports” are available for purchase online at www.amazon.com and barnesandnoble.com. To order a copy directly from the author, email davidjbuss@gmail.com.

Tumble truncates Pokorski’s Outlaws weekend, bounce back eyed

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

Alex Pokorski had his planned weekend with the NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series cut short after a hard crash on Friday, June 26 at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis. – JW’s Car and Raccing Photos

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 30, 2026 – Driven to compete against the best the sport has to offer, Alex Pokorski and the members of the GR8 Team headed west to take on the NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series for a planned doubleheader weekend at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., on Friday, June 26.

Pokorski entered the weekend with the good memories of recording his best career 410 Sprint Car finish at the renowned three-eighths-mile high-banked clay oval, with a second-place showing on the final night of the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association Jerry Richert Memorial last Sept. 6.

The West Bend, Wis. native opened the night by qualifying 25th in the 30-car field with a lap of 12.258 seconds. He placed ninth in the first World of Outlaws heat race, which placed him in the seventh starting spot for the 12-lap Last Chance Showdown.

Needing to place in the top six to advance to the main event, Pokorski was running in the eighth position on lap 4 when he got too high and went on a series of hard flips. He escaped the melee uninjured. However, his No. 4 machine was damaged beyond repair, forcing the team to scratch from the remainder of the weekend.

“I just kept driving a little harder until I drove it too hard,” Pokorski said. “I got frustrated and pushed it a bit too much. I’m doing well for the circumstances. The car is not. Most things are junk, so we had to withdraw from racing on Saturday.”

After taking the Fourth of July weekend off, Alex and the GR8 Team are tentatively scheduled to enter a NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series doubleheader at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11.

For updates on the team’s confirmed plans, visit the Pokorski Motorsports Facebook page.

Post gears up for big MSA holiday bash

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

Randy Post earned a 19th place showing in an Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car main event at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, June 27. – JW’s Car and Raccing Photos

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 30, 2026 – Randy Post’s fourth 2026 venture to The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis., provided a little bit of everything the fourth-year Akright Auto 360 Plymouth Dirt Track Sprint Car competitor on Saturday, June 27, as he tuned up for a highly anticipated special event this week.

After qualifying 17th overall in the 25-car field with a lap of 13.432 around the third-mile clay oval, the Oostburg, Wis. driver placed sixth in the second heat race to claim the 21st starting spot in the 25-lap PDTR 360 Sprint Car main event.

Post hovered close to a possible top-15 finish after moving up to 16th on lap 19. However, he got shuffled back to 19th on lap 23, which is where he ended up the race.

“The night was a lot of fun,” Post said. “Poor lane choice in qualifying did not do me well. I would just like to think that the heat race never happened. In the feature, I felt like I was making up a lot of ground, but everyone was fighting for the same space, so I got held up a little bit.”

Post is planning to compete in a special Fourth of July holiday MMW Industrial Supply Midwest Sprint Car Association event at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis., on Thursday, July 2, which will pay $1,776 to the A-main winner and $750 to the top finishing U.S. military veteran.

Anvelink, Schmidt, Urban, Lorier steal Plymouth spotlight

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

Nick Anvelink of Bonduel claimed his sixth career Sheboygan Rock Station 106.5 The Buzz Plymouth Dirt Track Racing Late Model A-main victory in a Seubert Calf Ranches Super Six Late Model main event at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, June 27. – JW’s Car and Raccing Photos

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 27, 2026 – On a night featuring intense, hard-nosed battles and spirited charges to the front of the pack, four drivers stood atop the podium in Plymouth Dirt Track A-main action Saturday, June 27 at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis.

Nick Anvelink of Bonduel claimed a flag-to-flag win in the caution-free 30-lap Seubert Calf Ranches Super Six Late Model Series headliner presented by Sheboygan’s Rock Station 106.5 The Buzz A main.

Two-time Akright Auto 360 Sprint Car champion Ben Schmidt of Plymouth claimed his fourth A-main victory of the 2026 PDTR campaign in the 25-lap main event.

Matt Urban of Milwaukee emerged with his second victory in three outings behind the wheel of Brad Weiss’ 53B car in a wild 25-lap Oostburg Automotive Grand National main event.

Steve Lorier of Sheboygan racked up his first 25-lap Sheboygan Flooring B Mod A-main win of the year.

Polesitter Nick Anvelink jumped out to the lead on the opening lap of the 30-lap Super Six Late Model Series A main and wasted no time building a gap back to second starter Joel Bennett of Hortonville.

Anvelink got a first taste of lapped traffic on lap 6 before encountering slower traffic in earnest on lap 13. The multi-time Dirt Kings Late Model Tour champion slipped through the back of the field expertly to keep Bennett at bay throughout the contest.

On the final lap, Bennett dug deep to cut the gap significantly. However, he was unable to mount a serious challenge. Anvelink held on to secure his first Super Six Late Model Series win of the 2026 season, and sixth overall career PDTR Late Model main event win in the non-stop race.

Bennett was second, fourth starter Taylor Scheffler took third, Brett Swedberg of Shawano placed fourth after starting fifth, and six-time PDTR Late Model champ Brad Mueller of Random Lake charged up from the 11th starting spot to round out the top five.

Outside front row starter Katelyn Krebsbach of Johnsburg seized the lead on the first lap of the 25-lap 360 Sprint Car main event. While Krebsbach commanded the top spot in the early going, third starter Ben Schmidt began his march to the front by sliding past defending PDTR 360 Sprint Car champ Kevin Karnitz of West Bend to take third on lap 5.

On lap 11, Schmidt assumed second with a daring three-wide move, during which he split a lapped car and polesitter Tyler Davis of Franklin heading into turn one.

The first of four caution flags flew on lap 13 for the stalled car of Jake Zimmerman of Pewaukee. On the restart, Schmidt pulled off a slider to clear Krebsbach for the lead in turn two.

After three more cautions for single-car spins on laps 16, 18, and 19, Schmidt controlled each restart to pull away to his fourth A-main victory of the 2026 PDTR season, fifth 2026 Midwest Sprint Car Association win, 32nd career PDTR 360 Sprint Car victory, and 57th overall MSA triumph.

T.J. Smith of Greenville moved up from the fifth starting spot to take second, sixth starter Tristan Furseth of Cambridge was third, Karnitz wound up fourth, and Shane Wenninger of Kewaskum advanced six spots from 11th at the start to round out the top five in Bill Taylor’s No. 69 machine.

In the highly eventful 25-lap Grand National main event, 2022 PDTR Grand National champion Luke Scholten of Oostburg grabbed the lead from the fourth starting spot on the opening circuit.

Matt Urban of Milwaukee picked up his second career Oostburg Automotive Plymouth Dirt Track Racing A-main win at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, June 27. Also pictured is Jeff Pederson of trophy sponsor Pedal Down Promotions. – JW’s Car and Raccing Photos

The top four cars of Scholten, 87-year-old polesitter Dick Hed of Plymouth, fourth starter Nick Schumacher of Eagle, and Matt Urban, who started sixth, raced in close side-by-side quarters for four laps before Scholten re-established himself in the lead on lap 10.

On lap 15, Schumacher tracked Scholten down, and one lap later, he used a low move in turn one to gain the top spot.

However, disaster struck when Schumacher and Scholten were involved in a chain reaction crash involving a slower car on lap 24, which resulted in heavy damage to both cars and necessitated a red flag. After being transported to a hospital for burns, Schumacher later described his condition as otherwise okay via social media.

The ensuing restart sparked fireworks when Urban ducked very low under Hed, who had inherited the lead on the restart, with a bold move entering turn one of the final lap. The two made contact, which allowed fifth-starting Derek Kaat of Plymouth to take the lead in turn two briefly.

However, Urban recovered to sweep around Kaat in the final two corners and nail down his second career Grand National A-main victory in dramatic and controversial fashion.

Kaat placed second, Hed wound up third, 2018 PDTR Grand National champion Tyler Kulow of Plymouth moved up from the 11th starting position to take fourth, and 10th starter Will Schumacher of Hartford rounded out the top five.

Following the race, Hed visited victory lane to show his displeasure with the aggressive last-lap maneuver. Meanwhile, Urban was greeted with a wave of disapproval from a vocal collection of spectators as he exited his car to claim the win.

When the dust settled on the tempestuous race, Urban celebrated his second career Grand National A-main victory over the course of the last three races, filling the seat of the 53B car normally steered by Brad Weiss.

Steve Lorier of Sheboygan came away with his seventh career Sheboygan Flooring Plymouth Dirt Track Racing B Mod A-main victory at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, June 27. Also pictured is Jeff Pederson of trophy sponsor Pedal Down Promotions. – JW’s Car and Raccing Photos

After a multi-car incident on the opening lap, outside front row starter Jim Juneau of Brookfield grabbed the lead on lap 2. Juneau retained the top spot before Steve Lorier, who started sixth, charged to move past Juneau with a low move entering turn three on lap 6.

Three laps later, 2024 PDTR B Mod champ Travis Schmidt of Cascade moved up from the 12th starting position to take over second. However, Schmidt was unable to track down Lorier, who was stout up front, weaving his way through lapped traffic over the final 16 laps on the way to his first A-main victory of the 2026 campaign and seventh career PDTR B Mod main event win.

Schmidt placed second, 2017 PDTR B Mod champion Justin Green of Sheboygan Falls finished third after starting 13th, ninth starter Brendan Ostrowski of Milwaukee was fourth, and Matt Urban advanced from the 10th starting spot to finish fifth.

Taylor Scheffler of Waukesha claimed overall fast qualifier honors in the Super Six Late Model Series with a lap of 13.794 seconds.

Billy Kreutz of Kiel was the overall fastest qualifier in the PDTR 360 Sprint Car division with a lap of 12.860 seconds.

The eighth event of the 2026 PDTR campaign, sponsored by Pedal Down Promotions, attracted a field of 82 entries, including 25 360 Sprint Cars, 21 B Mods, 19 Grand Nationals, and 17 Late Models.

The next event on the 2026 calendar at The Plymouth Dirt Track is the Independence 30 on Thursday, July 2, featuring Dirt Late Models racing for $3,000 to win, as well as MMW Industrial Supply Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Cars, Wisconsin wingLESS Sprint Cars, A Modified, and Street Stocks each competing for a top prize of $1,776.

Spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 5:45 p.m. and racing at 6:45 p.m.

After taking the Fourth of July off, PDTR will host the fifth annual Plymouth Racing Wall of Fame Induction Night event on Saturday, July 11, during which five drivers (John Born, Brian Gilles, Terry Marten, Lanny Schirmer, Gib Wiser), four track workers (Dale Baumann, Kim Baumann, Dave Bohrmueller, Brian Triphan), and one racing family (Sippel) will be inducted into the Wall of Fame during intermission.

The Seubert Calf Ranches Super Six Late Model Series presented by Sheboygan’s Rock Station 106.5 The Buzz will be in action, along with the Akright Auto PDTR 360 Sprint Cars, and Oostburg Automotive Dirt Devil Grand Nationals. Sheboygan Flooring B Mods, and Vintage Modifieds.

Arenz earns Butler runner-up, preps to head south

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 24, 2026 – For the second time in 2026, Travis Arenz came home second in Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series competition, just short of his first victory of the season at Butler Motor Speedway in Quincy, Mich. on Saturday, June 20.

The doubleheader weekend in the state of Michigan fired off with the Travis Arenz Motorsport Team’s debut at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Mich. on Friday, June 19. Arenz opened the night by qualifying ninth in the 28-car field with a lap of 13.901 seconds around the 4/10-mile semi-banked dirt oval.

After placing third in the third heat race, Arenz finished third in IRA dash 1 to claim the fifth starting spot in the 25-lap main event. The Sheboygan Falls, Wis. driver fell back to 10th on lap 18 before moving up to finish ninth when the checkered flag fell.

One night later, Arenz ventured to Butler Motor Speedway where he turned in the 10th fastest qualifying lap among the 34 cars on hand, negotiating the 3/8-mile high-banked dirt oval in 13.547 seconds.

After lining up second in the second heat race, the two-time Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion earned his third heat race triumph of the 2026 campaign to qualify for his 10th IRA dash of the season.

Following a third-place showing in dash 1, Arenz rolled off fifth in the 30-lap A main. He advanced to third on lap 10 before moving to second behind eventual race winner Brock Hallett on lap 12.

The 18th-year competitor held over the final 18 laps to secure his second runner-up finish and third podium showing of the 2026 campaign.

“Our trip to Michigan was pretty good,” Arenz said. “I felt like I struggled at I-96 for the first few laps but then got it figured out decently. When racing at a track we don’t see often, I watch other races and drivers a lot closer to see how track conditions change through the night.

“At Butler, I feel like if I would have gone to the high side sooner, we could have maybe been in the run for the lead,” he said. “During the last few laps, the car got very tight, which made it a touch harder. The points standings are extremely close right now, so being fast and consistent is crucial.”

Arenz is now set to head south with the IRA to Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Ill. on Friday, June 26 before making his first appearance at I-55 Federated Auto Parts Raceway Park in Pevely, Mo. on Saturday, June 27.

Both events will be streamed live on floracing.com.

Karnitz, Schumacher, Schmidt, Johnson tally Plymouth Mid-Season triumphs

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

Defending Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion Kevin Karnitz of West Bend earned his second A-main victory of the 2026 season during the PDTR Mid-Season Night racing program at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, June 20. – JW’s Car and Raccing Photos

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 20, 2026 – Defending Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion Kevin Karnitz of West Bend halted two-time track champion Ben Schmidt’s Plymouth winning streak at three in claiming his second A-main victory of the 2026 PDTR campaign on Mid-Season Night at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis., on Saturday, June 20.

In the 25-lap Oostburg Automotive Grand National division, Nick Schumacher of Eagle racked up his initial A-main win of the season.

Former track champion Travis Schmidt of Cascade racked up his first 25-lap Sheboygan Flooring B Mod main event triumph of the year.

Seth Johnson of Hartland led flag to flag en route to his first career 20-lap A-main victory in the AutoMeter Powered by Gandrud Performance Wisconsin wingLESS Sprint Car Series presented by PDTR guest division sponsor Sheboygan’s Rock Station 106.5 The Buzz.

After lining up on the outside of the front row, Kevin Karnitz outpowered polesitter Brandon Berth of Cascade to take the lead on the opening lap of the 25-lap PDTR 360 Sprint Car main event.

Riding the high and wide cushion, Karnitz caught up the back of the field on lap 6 and went to work slicing his way through thick slower traffic. As the leaders worked their way through a continual swarm of cars, Berth pulled even with Karnitz with a slide job on lap 8.

However, Karnitz fended off Berth’s spirited challenge for the lead. On lap 10, Berth exchanged sliders with fourth starter T.J. Smith of Greenville in a heated duel for the runner-up spot.

Meanwhile, Karnitz weaved his way through slower traffic with some daring, but well-measured moves utilizing the bite of the preferred outside groove to extend his lead by lap 15.

Three laps later, Ben Schmidt of Plymouth charged up from the 10th starting spot to slip past Smith to secure second. As the laps wound down, Schmidt used the low line to gradually reel in the high-riding Karnitz.

However, Schmidt’s valiant bid for a fourth straight PDTR and fifth consecutive Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Car A-main win came up just short.

Karnitz secured his 10th career PDTR 360 Sprint Car victory and 12th career MSA main event win in the caution-free race, which came with a $1,000 first-place prize.

Schmidt was second, Berth wound up third, Smith finished fourth, and third starter Josh Walter of Plymouth rounded out the top five.

Polesitter Nick Schumacher grabbed the lead on the opening lap of the Grand National A main with 2018 PDTR 360 Sprint Car champion Justin Miller of Plymouth, who started third, following in second.

Schumacher wasted no time building up a solid lead before catching the back of the pack on lap 12, which allowed Miller and sixth starter Matt Urban of Milwaukee behind the wheel of Brad Weiss’ 53 car to close the gap.

The only caution flag of the event appeared on lap 20 when Tanner Lorenz spun in turn four. Following the restart, Urban moved past Miller to seize second. Over the final five laps, Urban dug hard and mounted a final bid for the lead with a low move exiting turn four of the final lap.

However, Schumacher held on to edge Urban by just half a car length (.102 of a second) at the finish line to score his fifth career PDTR Grand National A-main victory and $500 first-place paycheck.

Urban, who raced to victory in his first time behind the wheel of the 53 car on June 13, had to settle for a close second, Miller placed a Grand National career-best third, 2018 PDTR Grand National champion Tyler Kulow of Plymouth moved up from the 12th starting spot to take fourth, and fourth starter Donny Kulow of Plymouth rounded out the top five.

Outside front row starter Parker Glander of Sheboygan Falls outdueled Tim Thrun of Horicon, who started fourth, to pace the field in the early stages of the PDTR B Mod main event.

The first of four caution flags came out on lap 6 for Justin Blackburn’s spin in turn four. Following the restart, 2024 PDTR B Mod champion Travis Schmidt, who started eighth, powered in to seize second on lap 8 before shooting past Glander into the lead in turn three on lap 9.

The second caution flag came out on lap 12 for an incident involving Vince Jung and Tim Sheppard in turn three. After the restart, sixth starter Matt Urban advanced to second. By lap 19, Schmidt had built up a full-straightaway cushion over Urban.

After two more caution flags for single-car incidents involving Parker Glander and Steve Lorier on lap 23, Schmidt held strong on the way to his ninth career PDTR B Mod A-main win, which was worth $500.

Urban took second, Spencer Long of Sheboygan Falls bolted up from the 16th starting spot (last on the grid) to take third, newcomer Ryan Kuehn of Oconomowoc, who started ninth, finished fourth, and Trevor Maurer of De Pere placed fifth from the 12th starting spot in his first appearance at The Plymouth Dirt Track.

Seth Johnson, who started on the pole, jumped into the lead of the 20-lap Wisconsin wingLESS Sprint Car A main on the drop of the green flag. The lone caution of the event came out on lap 3 when Jordan Miklas spun in turn two.

Johnson utilized the preferred high line to control the lead after the restart with Wisconsin wingLESS rookie Colin Sivia of Winthrop Harbor, Ill., who started on the outside of the front row, following in second.

On lap 16, Johnson and Sivia were dueling in close quarters when Johnson came in contact with a slower car in turn two. However, Johnson recovered nicely to maintain the lead and pull away from Sivia over the final four laps on the way to his first career Wisconsin wingLESS Sprint Car Series A-main victory.

Sivia was second, third starter John Fahl of Brown Deer took third, Rusty Egan of Round Lake Heights, Ill. moved up from the eighth starting spot to place fourth, and Tim Cox of Park City, Ill. wound up fifth after starting sixth.

Weston Finke of Mayville won the 12-lap PDTR 360 Sprint Car B main.

Rookie Ethon Stear of Hebron, Ill. was the overall fastest qualifier in the PDTR 360 Sprint Car division with a lap of 12.480 seconds.

Rusty Egan earned fast qualifier honors in the Wisconsin wingLESS Sprint Car division with a lap of 13.771 seconds.

The seventh event of the 2026 PDTR campaign, sponsored by Vesta, drew a field of 82 entries, including 27 360 Sprint Cars, 21 Grand Nationals, 17 B Mods and 17 Wisconsin wingLESS Sprint Cars.

To help celebrate Mid-Season Night, PDTR added $3,000 to the purse for the 360 Sprint Car, Grand National and B Mod divisions ($1,000 each).

Arenz goes top-five at Seymour-Shawano

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 17, 2026 – Travis Arenz continued to stockpile results at the front of the pack with a pair of top-five showings with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series during a doubleheader weekend at Outagamie Speedway in Seymour, Wis., and Shawano Speedway in Shawano, Wis., on June 12-13.

The two-time Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion qualified eighth among 26 registered cars at Outagamie Speedway before winning his second heat race of the 2026 campaign.

The Sheboygan Falls, Wis. driver then took home his second dash victory of the year to earn the outside front row starting spot in the 30-lap A main. Arenz ran in the top five throughout the race before securing a fourth-place showing.

One night later, Arenz paid his first visit to the high-speed, half-mile Shawano Speedway facility, where he laid down the second-fastest qualifying time in the 20-car field in 17.415 seconds.

He went on to place third in the second heat race before finishing fourth in the second dash to roll off seventh in the 20-lap main event. Arenz drove a smooth race on the lightning-fast track surface to complete a successful weekend of IRA action with a podium third-place showing.

“Overall, I am happy with this past weekend at Seymour and Shawano,” Arenz said. “We had good results from the start of the night to the end. My goal is to have a podium finish at a minimum each night we race, which we were able to secure at Shawano. We had a few mechanical gremlins at Outagamie on Friday, coming home fourth. I am curious how the night could have ended if we didn’t have those.

Arenz is scheduled to follow the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association to I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Mich. on Friday, June 19 before moving on to Butler Speedway, Quincy, Mich. on Saturday, June 20.

Hartmann matches career best at Shawano

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 17, 2026 – The speed Austin Hartmann and the members of the 87A Hartmann Racing Team have displayed thus far during the 2026 season paid off in a big way with a career-best fourth-place showing with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series on Saturday, June 13 at Shawano Speedway in Shawano, Wis.

An IRA doubleheader weekend opened with a stellar runner-up qualifying effort in the 26-car field with a lap of 11.884 seconds at Outagamie Speedway in Seymour, Wis. on Friday, June 12.

The Plymouth, Wis. driver finished fifth in the second heat race before placing fourth in dash 1 to claim the seventh starting position in the 30-lap headliner.

Hartmann ran as high as seventh in the early going and held the 14th position before dropping back in the closing laps to finish 21st.

“Friday night at Seymour wasn’t meant to go our way late in that A main,” Hartmann said. “I messed up not reading the racetrack and ultimately put us behind.”

On Saturday, June 13, the team headed to Shawano Speedway for the first IRA appearance at the sprawling half-mile track in 17 years. After qualifying 11th in the 20-car field with a lap of 17.859 seconds, Hartmann finished second in heat race two.

Following an outside fifth-row start in the 20-lap main event, he advanced from ninth in the early going to move up five spots to equal his previous career-best fourth-place showing at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D. on July 20, 2024.

“Saturday at Shawano was a much better night,” Hartmann said. “I went out late for qualifying and put down a respectable lap. In the heat race, I didn’t get the start I needed as the top took off better. That put us starting seventh in the A-main on a tricky, rough, and slick racetrack. I got forward a bit and capitalized on some others’ misfortune, which ended up placing us fourth.

“I’m super proud of this team to put a bad night behind us and focus on Saturday,” he said. “I can’t thank all my partners enough and the team. Eric [Bergschultz] and Ozzie [Wesener] work their ass off. I’m glad I could put together a good run for them Saturday.”

The 87A Hartmann Racing Team is slated to take a month off before returning to competition with the NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series on Friday, July 10 and Saturday, July 11 at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis.

Gates open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 6:30 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m. on both nights.

For those unable to make it to the track, the event will be live-streamed on dirtvision.com

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 16, 2026 – A late decision to enter a Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series event at Outagamie Speedway in Seymour, Wis., proved fruitful for Alex Pokorski and the GR8 Team on Friday, June 12.

Pokorski opened the night strong by qualifying fifth in the 26-car field with a lap of 12.079 seconds around the progressive-banked third-mile clay oval. After placing fourth in the second IRA heat race, Pokorski started and finished fifth in his first dash appearance of the 2026 season.

The seventh-year Sprint Car competitor rolled off 10th in the 30-lap A main and was running 14th when he was involved in an incident in turn two on lap 10. After restarting 18th, Pokorski battled back to record a 14th-place showing.

“I could’ve been a bit better in the heat race, but we made some good strides on the car balance,” Pokorski said. “It was fun to race in the feature, even though we had to come from the back after an incident. I enjoyed having a lot of family and friends spend the night with us.”

After a week off, Alex and the GR8 Team will head to Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis. for a pair of NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series events on Friday, June 26 and Saturday, June 27.

Post enjoys ‘fun’ night at Plymouth

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 16, 2026 – Racing at a local dirt track is supposed to be fun for drivers, teams, and fans alike. That’s just what it was for fifth-year Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car competitor at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis., on Saturday, June 13.

In his third event of the 2026 campaign, Post opened the night by qualifying 22nd overall in the 26-car field. Following a fifth-place showing in the second heat race, the Oostburg, Wis. driver placed second in the B main to earn a berth in the 25-lap main event.

After starting 18th in the A main, the fourth-year 360 Sprint Car racer was running 20th on lap 20 before moving up three spots in the final five laps to record a 17th-place finish.

“If I had to sum up the night in one word, it would be ‘fun’; we had a blast,” Post said. “We made some huge adjustments to the car, and I believe I found something I have been battling for like five years. I was very happy with the way the car handled and the clean racing we saw from my point of view. The things I’d like to improve on aren’t really anything wrench-wise but just knowing how to drive the car now that it handles correctly. I have a lot of bad habits that now need to be broken and need to figure this thing out all over again.”

Post plans to compete at The Plymouth Dirt Track with the PDTR 360 Sprint Cars this Saturday, June 20.

Schmidt, Urban, Sheppard, Corson reign Plymouth supreme

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 13, 2026 – Two-time Plymouth Dirt Track Racing Akright Auto 360 Sprint Car champion Ben Schmidt of Plymouth earned his third straight A-main victory to headline main event action at the venerable third-mile clay oval in Plymouth, Wis., on Saturday, June 13.

In the 25-lap Oostburg Automotive Grand National division, Matt Urban of Milwaukee steered the 53B car of Brad Weiss to his first career victory in the Grand National division.

Former track champion Tim Sheppard of Beaver Dam returned to victory lane for the first time in three years in the 25-lap Sheboygan Flooring main event.

R.J. Corson of Markham, Ill. earned his first career win at the Plymouth Dirt Track in the 25-lap Badger Midgets A main.

After a caution for Johnsburg’s Katelyn Krebsbach negated the initial start of the 360 Sprint Car main event, PDTR rookie Brok Clifcorn of Cottage Grove led the opening lap from the third starting position.

On lap 2, fourth starter Ben Schmidt dove low to steal the top spot away from the high-riding Clifcorn. Schmidt caught the rear of the field on lap 6 and went to work weaving his way through slower traffic.

Meanwhile, Clifcorn, fifth starter Tyler Davis of Franklin, 2008 PDTR 360 Sprint Car champion Lance Fassbender of Burnett, who started sixth, and eighth starter Josh Walter of Plymouth mounted a heated four-car duel for second.

On lap 13, Clifcorn caught Schmidt in traffic and briefly surged into the lead along the backstretch. However, Schmidt swiftly battled back to retain the top spot. Two laps later, Davis cleared Clifcorn to gain the runner-up position and quickly set his sights on the lead.

The second caution flag of the race appeared on lap 21 for a spin involving Bill Taylor of Boltonville, which set up a four-lap dash to the finish. Following a single-file restart, Davis dug hard along the high groove in an inspired attempt to pry the lead away from Schmidt.

On the final circuit, Davis uncorked a deep run into turn three to nearly pull even with Schmidt exiting turn four, but it was not enough as the 26-year veteran held on to seal his third consecutive PDTR 360 Sprint Car A-main triumph and fourth straight Midwest Sprint Car Association triumph. It was also Schmidt’s 31st career main event triumph in PDTR 360 Sprint Car competition and the 56th victory of his MSA career.

Davis had to settle for second, Clifcorn earned his best career PDTR 360 Sprint Car showing by placing third, Justin Erickson of Plymouth charged from the 14th starting spot to place fourth, and Walter rounded out the top five.

Polesitter Donny Kulow of Plymouth paced the Grand National A-main field on the drop of the green flag before the first of six caution flags flew on lap 3. After two more caution periods ensued before another official lap was completed, sixth starter Matt Urban charged in to take over the lead on lap 6 in the car normally driven by Brad Weiss.

A five-car incident on lap 9 brought out the fourth caution flag of the race, after which Urban bolted out to a solid lead. Two more caution flags followed, but they couldn’t deter Urban. He pulled away in the closing laps to earn his first career Grand National A-main win to go along with the three career PDTR B Mod main event victories.

Donny Kulow placed second, 2019 PDTR Grand National champion Tyler Kulow of Plymouth moved up from the ninth starting spot to take third, Jeff Muehlbauer of Elkhart Lake stormed from the 18th starting spot to finish fourth, and 11th starter Ryan Minister of Sheboygan placed fifth in his first Plymouth appearance of the 2026 campaign.

Kelan Wolfe of Oostburg led the opening lap of the B Mod main event from the outside of the front row. On lap 2, 2017 PDTR B Mod champion Justin Green of Sheboygan Falls, who started fifth, slipped past Wolfe to take the top spot.

A red flag stopped the race on lap 4 after an eight-car melee in turn two. Following the restart, ninth starter Tim Sheppard raced in to pressure Green for the lead. Sheppard then pulled off what proved to be the winning move to grab the point on lap 10.

He then skillfully worked his way through slower traffic over the final nine laps to earn his first PDTR B Mod A-main victory since May 13, 2023, and third career B Mod win at Plymouth.

Green placed second, Carsin Cullen of Chilton came up from the sixth starting position to finish third, Brandon Knepprath from Kewaskum charged from 21st at the start to come home fourth and seventh-starting Tim Thrun of Horicon wound up fifth.

Polesitter Derek Crane of Racine took the lead at the start of the Badger Midgets A main before 2016 PDTR Micro Sprint champion Zach Boden of Cambridge, who started fifth, moved to pressure Crane at the front.

On lap 10, Boden spun in turn one while pressuring Crane for the lead to bring out the lone caution flag of the race. Crane continued to set the pace following the restart, while eighth starter Brandon Waelti of Sun Prairie, Luke Wackerlin of Maple Park, Ill., who started seventh, and sixth starter R.J. Corson dueled three wide for second.

After surging into second at the halfway point, Corson bolted in to steal the lead away from Crane on lap 18. He held on the rest of the way to earn his first Badger Midget victory at the Plymouth Dirt Track and second career win with the series.

Crane wound up second, Waelti finished third, third starter Eric Blumer of Sun Prairie placed fourth, and Wackerlin rounded out the top five.

Carter Chevalier of Andover, Minn. won the 12-lap PDTR 360 Sprint Car B main.

Billy Kreutz of Kiel was the overall fastest qualifier in the PDTR 360 Sprint Car division with a lap of 12.553 seconds.

Brandon Waelti claimed fast qualifier honors in the Badger Midget ranks with a lap of 13.708 seconds.

The family of the late Joshua (Butch) Mavis, a former PDTR B Mod competitor, added to the payout for finishing positions 1st ($100), 3rd ($150), and 13th ($250) in the 360 Sprint, Grand National, and B-Mod A mains.

The sixth event of the 2026 PDTR campaign, sponsored by Butch and Janet Hafemann, drew a field of 87 entries, including 26 360 Sprint Cars, 22 B Mods, 21 Grand Nationals and 18 Badger Midgets.

Plymouth Dirt Track Racing will return to action on Saturday, June 20 with the Wisconsin wingLESS Sprint Cars serving as the guest division alongside the Akright Auto PDTR 360 Sprint Cars, Oostburg Automotive Grand Nationals and Sheboygan Flooring B Mods.

Spectator gates open at 4:30 p.m. with qualifying at 5:30 p.m. and racing at 6 p.m.

The Sheboygan Falls, Wis. competitor started the evening off strong as he qualified 10th overall in the stout 33-car field with a lap of 11.567 seconds. After dropping from the third starting spot to finish sixth in heat race number two, the two-time Plymouth Dirt Track Racing and Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Car champ finished fourth in the Last Chance Showdown to gain a berth in the 35-lap World of Outlaws main event for the first time in his 19-season career.

After rolling off 24th, Arenz’s night came to an early end after contacting an infield tire and flipping in turn two to end with a 24th-place showing.

“We qualified well with World of Outlaws,” Arenz said. “I’ve been working on being more consistent with qualifying, and I’ve been pretty happy with the results. Unfortunately, I didn’t keep up with the car and track well enough later on in the night, and I made way too many mistakes in the heat and feature.

“There was a decent amount of damage from the accident, but we will get it back together for both Outagamie County and Shawano this coming weekend,” he said.

Arenz is scheduled to return to Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association action this Friday, June 12, at Outagamie Speedway in Seymour, Wis. On Saturday, June 13, the IRA is set to head to Shawano Speedway in Shawano, Wis.

Pokorski relishes first High Limit A run

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

Alex Pokorski competed in his first career Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing Sprint Car Series A main at Gondik Law Speedway in Superior, Wis. on Thursday, June 4. – JW’s Car and Raccing Photos

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 9, 2026 – Alex Pokorski and the GR8 Team got their first taste of national touring Sprint Car series competition as part of a three-race swing featuring events with the Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing and NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series last week in the northern and eastern parts of the state of Wisconsin.

Pokorski made his debut appearance with the High Limit Racing Series at Red Cedar Speedway in Menomonie, Wis. on Wednesday, June 3. With 32 cars checked in for the evening, the West Bend, Wis. native qualified 14th in qualifying group B with a lap of 13.908 seconds.

After placing seventh in the fourth heat race, Pokorski placed ninth in the B Main to miss out on transferring to the evening’s main event.

One night later, the team ventured to Gondik Law Speedway in Superior, Wis., where Pokorski qualified 21st in the 29-car field in 13.871 seconds. Pokorski then finished seventh in the third heat race before finishing fourth in the B Main to secure his first career High Limit Racing A-main start.

In the main event, Pokorski advanced five positions on the way to a 17th-place showing.

On Saturday, June 6, Pokorski and crew returned to their home track – The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. – to make the team’s NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series debut.

With 33 cars checked in, Pokorski qualified 25th overall with a lap of 11.867 seconds. After placing seventh in the first heat race, Pokorski started fifth in the Last Chance Showdown before dropping back to seventh and missing out on an A-main berth by three spots.

“The B main was a lot of fun in the High Limit event at Gondik Law in Superior,” Pokorski said. “We got the car more comfortable early in the night, but had to change a wing slider valve after hot laps and then didn’t have time to add fuel, so I was sputtering a bit in qualifying. These High Limit shows move quick, really quick. The High Limit staff was very impressive and kind. I’m looking forward to racing with them again.

“We started one position from an A-main transfer spot in the B with the Outlaws on Saturday at Plymouth,” he said. “However, I wasn’t able to find a comfortable line to move forward and ended up dropping back a couple spots. With our first few national events under our belt, I’m looking forward to racing with the Outlaws again at Cedar Lake in a few weeks.”

After a couple of weekends off, Alex and the GR8 Team will head to Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis. for a pair of NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series events on Friday, June 26 and Saturday, June 27.

World of Outlaws races are streamed live on dirtvision.com
