(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) May 27, 2026 – After piling up top-10 showings in the first three Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series events of the 2026 season, Travis Arenz pushed his Travis Arenz Motorsports 25T machine further forward in a Memorial Weekend doubleheader on Saturday, May 23, and Sunday, May 24.

With 35 cars checked in for the IRA Founders Night program at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., on Saturday, May 23, the 19th-year competitor qualified seventh with a lap of 12.908 seconds on the historic three-eighths-mile semi-banked clay oval.

A third-place finish in the third heat race gave Arenz a berth in the first IRA dash, during which he came home fourth to seal the seventh starting spot in the 30-lap main event.

The two-time Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion advanced steadily up the running order throughout the A-main on the way to a fourth-place showing to secure the team’s first top-five finish of the 2026 season.

On Sunday, May 24, at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek, Wis., Arenz qualified second in the 30-car field in 11.675 seconds.

Following a third-place finish in the second heat race, Arenz qualified for his fifth straight IRA dash of the 2026 campaign. The Sheboygan Falls, Wis. competitor pulled off a nifty low move in turn one of the opening lap to sweep into the lead of the second IRA dash on the way to his first dash win of the year.

After rolling off on the outside of the front row in the 30-lap IRA headliner, Arenz stalked polesitter Will Armitage in the early going before using lapped traffic to sweep into the lead on lap 9.

Arenz, who won an IRA race (Sept. 13) and a $26,000-to-win High Limit Racing Series event (June 5) at 141 Speedway last season, maintained the top spot over the ensuing 20 laps before Paul Nienhiser inched ahead as the leaders weaved through heavy lapped traffic on lap 29.

The second-place showing was Arenz’s season-best finish and first podium result of 2026.

“Overall, we had a good weekend,” Arenz said. “It was not ideal to lose the win at 141 on Sunday night. Sometimes, lapped traffic can make or break a win. I have really been focusing on consistency in the early parts of the night, and it has been helping set us up for a better starting position come feature time.”

Arenz is set to visit LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Ill., with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Cars this Saturday, May 30. Spectator gates open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 6 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m.

The following week, Arenz will return to his home track – The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. – for a NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Series event on Saturday, June 6. Spectator gates open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 6:30 p.m., and qualifying and racing to follow.

All IRA events are streamed live on floracing.com. World of Outlaws event at The Plymouth Dirt Track will be live-streamed on dirtvision.com
