(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) May 25, 2021 – One week after a mechanical issue in heat race action derailed Alex Pokorski’s goal of making The Plymouth Dirt Track Racing A-main field, the second-year driver’s luck continued to be on the sour side during a Midwest Sprint Car Association doubleheader weekend of action at The Plymouth Dirt Track at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, May 22 and the MSA’s return to Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis. following a one-year COVID-19-induced absence on Sunday, May 23.

Pokorski, who was among 31 PDTR 360 Sprint Car on hand for the fourth event of the 2021 season at The Plymouth Track at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds on Saturday, May 22, lined up sixth in the third 10-lap heat race.

After initially moving up two spots in turn two of the opening lap, Pokorski fell back to seventh in the running order in turn four of the first lap of the race. On lap 6, Pokorski worked his way around Katelyn Krebsbach to take over the sixth spot, which is where he finished.

Pokorski then lined up sixth in the 15-lap PDTR 360 Sprint Car B main in search of a top-six finish to claim a berth in the 25-lap A main. Caution flags slowed the pace twice in the early going with Pokorski maintaining the sixth spot.

On the lap 4 restart, Pokorski got bottled up behind two spinning cars in turn one, which prompted him to get hard on the brakes and loop his car to bring out the third caution flag of the race.

After restarting 10th, Pokorski was able to work his way around Katelyn Krebsbach to record a ninth-place finish in the 15-lap event.

“I felt a bit unlucky in the B main having to spin to avoid the cars getting together in front of me,” Pokorski said. “Hopefully, we can get into an A main soon at Plymouth.”

On Sunday, May 23, Pokorski made his debut appearance at the iconic Angell Park Speedway, which remained closed throughout the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Pokorski, who was among 22 MSA drivers on hand for the event, started fifth in the third 10-lap MSA heat race and fell to seventh on the opening lap on the narrow and fast track surface. Pokorski maintained the seventh spot at the finish.

Rain hit the track at the conclusion of heat race action to force the cancellation of the A main.

“Angell Park was fun to race at and was a nice change from Plymouth,” Pokorski said. “It has a unique shape, unlike anything else I’ve raced on.”

After skipping the next MSA series event at the Dodge County Fairgrounds in Beaver Dam, Wis. on Friday, May 28, the Pokorski Motorsports team will return to action on Saturday, May 29, at The Plymouth Dirt Track .at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds in Plymouth, Wis. with Alex Pokorski again slated to be behind the wheel.

Pit gates at Plymouth open at 2 p.m., the grandstand opens at 3:30 p.m. with hot laps at 4:30 p.m. and racing starting at 5 p.m.
