(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) August 9, 2022 – For the second week in a row, Alex Pokorski steered his No. 4 Akright Auto Racing Team machine to a 13^th-place showing in Plymouth Dirt Track Racing A-main competition at The Plymouth Dirt Track at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, Aug. 6.

With 30 PDTR 360 Sprint Cars checked in for the inaugural Plymouth Racing Wall of Fame Class of 2022 Induction Night racing program, Pokorski timed in 24^th overall with a lap of 13.907 seconds in 360 Sprint group qualifying.

The West Bend, Wis. driver then lined up seventh in the second 10-lap PDTR 360 Sprint Car heat race. After a false start, the initial start was negated when Mike Yurmanovich flipped hard into the front stretch wall on the drop of the green flag to bring out a red flag.

After moving up to fifth in the starting lineup, Pokorski fell back to sixth in the running order on the opening lap. On lap 7, the third-year 360 Sprint Car driver dove underneath Justin Erickson to move into fifth, which is where he finished the race.

Pokorski started the 25-lap 360 Sprint Car A main from the 14^th spot before falling back to 18^th in the early going. After a yellow flag on lap 12 and a red flag on the ensuing restart for a flip involving Tyler Brabant, Pokorski restarted 15^th.

When the race resumed, Pokorski dueled with Jason Johnson along the outside groove before moving into 13^th on with a high move on lap 16. As Pokorski worked primarily the high groove of the fast, but treacherous track surface, Bill Taylor ducked underneath Pokorski in the final stages of the race to move him back to 14^th.

As the leaders took the checkered flag, Tim Haddy spun along the backstretch, which ended the race with Pokorski scored 13^th for the second straight main event in a race won by Brandon McMullen. The 13^th-place finish marked Pokorski’s fourth top-15 finish in nine 2022 main events.

“I think qualifying could’ve been a bit better, if I could have been able to get a solid lap in,” Pokorski said. “The group I was with got a bit congested, but sometimes that happens.

“The track was fun at feature time and I think things went okay,” he said. “I’d like to have moved up into the top 10, but I needed to be sharper on the initial start and restarts. I think that could’ve made the difference. It’s something for me to work on this coming week.”

This Saturday, Aug. 13 is Kids Fan Appreciation Night sponsored by JDL Automotive and Detailing with several special prizes, giveaways and activities for kids 15 and under.

Spectator gates open at 4:30 p.m. with PDTR 360 Sprint Car group qualifying at 5:30 p.m. and racing at 6 p.m.
