(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 5, 2025 – On a lightning-fast track surface, Bill Taylor of Boltonville, Wis. was the fleetest in the MMW Industrial Supply Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Car field in claiming the second main event triumph of his MSA career in the 25-lap headliner at Eagle River Speedway in Eagle River, Wis. on Saturday, July 5.

Starting from the pole, Taylor bested outside front row starter Brady Portschy of Plymouth to gain the initial advantage on the drop of the green flag in the ninth MSA A main of the 2025 campaign. While Taylor quickly pulled away to a sizable lead, third starter Brandon Berth of Cascade engaged in a duel with Portschy for second.

Taylor caught the back of the pack on lap 10, but he still maintained a solid cushion over Portschy. Five laps later, Portschy pulled into the infield with mechanical issues.

One lap later, Ryan Sawusch brought out the first caution of the event when the left rear tire of his machine dislodged and came to a rest in turn two of the third-mile D-shaped clay oval. Shortly after the restart, the second and final caution flag of the race was displayed when rookie Cole Stella of Minocqua stopped along the front stretch on lap 16.

Following the final restart, two-time and defending MSA champion Ben Schmidt of Plymouth, who started sixth, slipped past Kevin Karnitz of West Bend to claim fourth.

As the laps wound down, Taylor extended his lead on the way to his second career MSA A-main victory and first win since 2019. With the victory, Taylor became the seventh different driver to notch an MSA triumph during the 2025 season.

Berth wound up second, seventh starter Joseph Hintz of Burnett finished third, Schmidt was fourth and Karnitz rounded out the top five in a race contested in a light drizzle.

“The track was really fast,” Taylor said in victory lane. “I had a lot of fun tonight. We were a little tight in the heat race and we made an adjustment to put in more gear. Wow. She was fast. I appreciate all the work the track crew did to get the show in tonight and I thank the fans for coming out to support us.”

Afternoon rain showers produced an exceedingly tacky track surface, which helped T.J. Smith of Greenville establish a new Eagle River Speedway track record in qualifying with a fast lap of 12.018 seconds.

Next up for the MMW Industrial Supply MSA Sprint Car Series is a doubleheader weekend starting Saturday, July 12 for Wall of Fame Induction Night at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis.

Spectator gates open at 4:30 p.m. with qualifying at 5:30 p.m. and racing at 6 p.m.

The following night, the MSA will head to Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis. for its second and final appearance of the 2025 campaign at the historic facility on Sunday, July 13.

Spectator gates open at 4 p.m. with hot laps/qualifying at 5 p.m. and racing at 6 p.m.

Arenz grabs mixed bag in IRA Bloomington, Butler jaunt

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 2, 2025 – It was a tale of two nights for Travis Arenz and the Travis Arenz Motorsports team during a doubleheader weekend of Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series action at Bloomington Speedway in Indiana on Friday, June 27 and Butler Motor Speedway in Michigan on Saturday, June 28.

Arenz’s first visit to the quarter-mile high-banked Bloomington Speedway red clay oval in Bloomington, Ind. was one to forget. After struggling to muster the 28th fastest lap in the 29-car field, the 18th-year racer moved from 10th to seventh in the first eight-lap heat race to finish one spot out of an A-main transfer spot.

He then placed third in the IRA B main to gain the 24th starting position in the 30-lap A main. However, Arenz pulled off early on, resulting in a 24th-place showing.

“I thought Bloomington was a neat place,” Arenz said. “I would be curious to see how things would have gone if the track didn’t get as much rain and the surface wasn’t crap. With having to start at the tail of the feature and already slicing two new tires, we decided to be smart, save our equipment and keep a few laps off our motor. Considering those factors, I chose to pull off in the early laps of the feature.”

One night later, at Butler Motor Speedway in Quincy, Mich., proved to be an improvement as Arenz opened the night by securing fast qualifier honors in the 37-car field with a lap of 13.382 seconds around the three-eighths-mile high-banked dirt oval.

After placing second in the first heat race and third in IRA Dash 1, the Sheboygan Falls, Wis. driver started the 30-lap main event from the fifth starting position.

He wavered between fourth and seventh place throughout the event before coming home with a strong fifth-place showing to mark his fifth top-five finish of the 2025 campaign.

“I liked racing at Butler,” Arenz said. “It was sort of a combination of a few tracks we run frequently. I enjoy competing at new tracks to test my skills.”

With the IRA off until the end of July, Arenz is unsure if he will enter any races in the coming weeks.

The IRA season will resume with a tripleheader weekend starting Friday, July 26 at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., moving on to Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wis. on Saturday, July 27 and ending up at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis. on Sunday, July 28.

“As for the plans in the next few weeks, it’s up in the air as of now,” Arenz said. “If I can, I would like to race a time or two to keep my skills sharp.”

Pokorski posts PDTR 360 top 10 No. 4

Alex Pokorski steered the Akright Auto Racing Team car to a ninth-place showing in Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car competition at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, June 28. – JW’s Car and Raccing Photos

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 1, 2025 – Alex Pokorski kept his string of strong performances in Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car competition right on track by racking up another top-10 A-main showing behind the wheel of the No. 4 Akright Auto car at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, June 28.

Pokorski opened the evening with a bang by nailing down his fast qualifier award of the 2025 season with a top lap of 12.678 seconds.

From there, the West Bend, Wis. native put together an impressive run to second after starting fourth in the third eight-lap PDTR 360 Sprint Car heat race.

The A-main provided some challenging and unlucky situations. After lining up fifth, the fifth-year Sprint Car competitor got shuffled back at the start and could never fully recover. Despite a valiant effort to move up to the front of the pack along the outside and later the inside groove of the third-mile semi-banked clay oval, Pokorski fell back four positions to post a ninth-place finish.

Following three consecutive podium finishes in his first three PDTR 360 Sprint Car starts, Pokorski racked up his fourth top-10 A-main showing of the 2025 campaign.

“The night started well, setting quick time,” Pokorski said. “I was actually a bit tight and felt we could’ve been even faster. We continued well into the heat race and got into the invert. Unfortunately, we started in the non-preferred groove on the top-dominant track. We were decently fast, just lost a few spots on both starts. Things got congested later and I couldn’t make the moves I wanted to.”

After taking the Fourth of July weekend off, Alex Pokorski-Akright Auto Racing Team is planning to make its fifth appearance of the 2025 campaign with the Akright Auto 360 Sprint Cars at The Plymouth Dirt Track on Saturday, July 12 for Plymouth Racing Wall of Fame Night.

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 28, 2025 – Taylor Scheffler of Waukesha executed a late pass to secure a $2,000 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing payday in the 30-lap Seubert Calf Ranches Super Six Late Model Series headliner presented by Sheboygan Rock’s Station 106.5 The Buzz at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, June 28.

In the 25-lap Akright Auto 360 Sprint Car main event, Brandon Berth of Cascade made his maiden visit to victory lane in 360 Sprint Car A-main competition at The Plymouth Dirt Track.

Jeff Steenbergen of Johnson Creek incorporated late heroics on the way to victory in the 25-lap Dirt Devil Grand National Series headliner presented by Oostburg Automotive.

Three-time PDTR Grand National champion Tim Warner of Malone posted the win in the 25-lap B Mod A main.

Polesitter Mitch McGrath of Waukesha grabbed the early lead in the 30-lap Super Six Late Model Series main event as six-time Brad Mueller of Random Lake, who started second, dueled with third starter Brett Swedberg of Shawano for the runner-up spot.

Following a pair of cautions, Mueller secured second on lap 5 with Taylor Scheffler moving into third from the seventh starting position. After the third and final caution flag of the race flew on lap 9, Scheffler used the high groove to steer around Mueller into second on the 10th circuit.

Scheffler continued to work the cushion to reel in McGrath as the laps ticked down. Finally, Sheffler swept into the lead with a high move in turn four on lap 24. Over the final six laps, Scheffler built up a commanding full-straightaway cushion on the way to his 10th career PDTR Late Model A-main victory.

Mueller was second, Swedberg wound up third, 11th starter Joe Bongiorno of Milwaukee placed fourth and Bill Edler of Howards Grove moved up five positions to round out the top five.

Second starter Brandon Berth outpowered polesitter Shane Wenninger of Kewaskum, who was in Chris Larson’s No 51 car, to gain the lead on the drop of the green flag in the 25-lap 360 Sprint Car main event.

Two-time and defending PDTR 360 Sprint Car champion Ben Schmidt of Plymouth quickly maneuvered his way into second from the fourth starting spot on the second go-around.

On lap five, Berth caught up to the tail of the field and began the process of slicing his way through slower traffic. The lone caution of the race appeared on lap 8.

When the race returned to green flag action, Berth again cruised away from Schmidt and worked lapped traffic to his advantage down the stretch on the way to his first career PDTR 360 Sprint Car A-main triumph and seventh overall Midwest Sprint Car Association A-main win.

Schmidt finished second, Wenninger wound up third, sixth starter Clayton Rossmann of Wadsworth, Ill. placed fourth and Greenville’s T.J. Smith advanced eight spots to place fifth.

Nick Schumacher of Eagle seized the early lead of the 25-lap Dirt Devil Grand National Series headliner from the pole while outside front row starter Mark Kuhfuss of Sheboygan Falls followed in second.

By lap 10, Schumacher had built his advantage to a full straightway over Kuhfuss.

As Kuhfuss began to close the gap on Schumacher on lap 16, Steenbergen advanced from his 11th starting spot to take over third. The first of two caution flags came out on lap 20 when Kuhfuss stopped with a mechanical issue.

One lap later, Steenbergen ducked under Schumacher to gain the top spot exiting turn four before two-time defending Grand National champ Will Sorce of Franksville, who started 13th, grabbed second on lap 24.

As the white flag flew, two-time seven-time Plymouth Dirt Track champion Brian Gilles of Plymouth spun in turn three to bring out the second and final caution flag of the event.

On the single-file green-white-checkered flag restart, Sorce worked the high line to pressure Steenbergen for the top spot. However, Steenbergen, who has five career A-main triumphs to his credit in the PDTR B Mod division, held strong to nail down his first career main event win in the PDTR Grand National ranks.

Sorce was second, Schumacher placed third, fourth starter Darryl Traber of Waterford finished fourth and sixth starter Chad Espen of West Bend wound up fifth.

Polesitter Kelan Wolfe of Oostburg led the opening lap of the PDTR B Mod headliner before three-time PDTR B Mod champ Tim Warner bolted his way into the lead on lap 2 from the seventh starting position.

By lap 6, Warner had established a substantial full straightaway cushion over third starter Tim Thrun of Horicon. After a pair of cautions appeared on lap 6 and lap 18, 2024 PDTR B Mod champion Travis Schmidt of Plymouth, who started 10th, dueled side-by-side with ninth starter Spencer Long of Sheboygan Falls for the runner-up spot.

Long spun into the infield in the closing laps as Warner cruised to his division-leading 13th career PDTR B Mod main event triumph.

Schmidt placed second, Logan Brass of Howard Grove charged up 15 spots from the 18th starting position to finish third, 12th starter Cole Thomas of Germantown was fourth and Rory Welch of Plymouth placed fifth from the sixth starting spot.

Two-time Plymouth track champion Dick Hed of Plymouth was victorious in the first 12-lap Grand National B main at 86 years of age. Jake Richards of Neshkoro took the win in the second 12-lap Grand National B main.

Elijah Koenig of Fox Lake earned the victory in the 12-lap B Mod B main.

Mike Mullen of Seymour secured the fastest qualifying time in the Super Six Late Model Series division with a lap of 13.582 seconds.

Alex Pokorski claimed fast qualifier honors in the PDTR 360 Sprint Car division with a lap of 12.678 seconds.

Fast start falls short for Arenz at Road America Challenge, IRA road trip on tap

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

After suffering a flat tire while racing for the lead, Travis Arenz wound up with a 15th-place finish in the annual Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association Road America Challenge at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, June 21. – RC Custom Design photo

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 25, 2025 – Still riding the wave of his remarkable upset victory in a High Limit Racing national tour series event at 141 Speedway on June 5, it was a matter of so close, yet so far away in the Road America Challenge Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car event at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, June 21.

The 18th-year racer enjoyed a great start to the night by qualifying a stout fourth in the 25-car field with a lap of 12.050 seconds around the third-mile semi-banked red clay oval.
After finishing second in the first eight-lap IRA heat race, Arenz advanced to his seventh IRA dash appearance in eight tries in 2025. After making a huge outside move on the opening lap of the first four-lap dash, Arenz advanced from fifth to second to earn the fourth starting position in the 30-lap Road America Challenge main event.

The 2021 and 2022 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing and Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Car champion got off to a strong start in A-main action before engaging in a battle for second with Jake Neuman. After moving past Neumann on Lap 17, the 2013 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing Outlaw Compact four-cylinder track champion tracked down leader Kelby Watt heading into the closing stages of the race.

Arenz surged ahead to lead lap 24 before Watt battled back along the outside groove. On lap 25, Watt attempted to squeeze past Arenz next to the backstretch wall. However, the two drivers made contact before Watt cut down the track in turn three to seize the lead.

Meanwhile, Arenz slowed to a stop on the following lap with a flat right rear tire resulting from the collision with Watt. After making a tire change in the work area, Arenz returned at the rear of the lead lap before moving up to secure a 15th-place showing at the finish line.

“I was very happy to be able to put down a good lap in qualifying,” Arenz said. “The heat race went well and I moved forward in the dash. Unfortunately, come feature time, there was a racing incident that caused a caution and cut down my right rear tire after taking over the lead position. We were able to get it changed and with five laps to go, and I was able to drive from the back of the field to get a few spots back.”

The team is preparing to head out on the road with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association Sprint Car Series this Friday, June 27 at Bloomington Speedway in Bloomington, Ind. and Saturday, June 28 at Butler Speedway in Quincy, Mich.

At Bloomington Speedway on Friday night, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars and Super Stocks are also on the card. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. with spectator gates opening at 5 p.m., hot laps at 6:30 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m. on the quarter-mile high-banked red clay oval.

On Saturday night at three-eighths high-banked Butler Motor Speedway dirt oval, UMP Modifieds and Four Cylinders will also be featured with pit gates opening at 3 p.m., followed by spectator gates at 4 p.m., hot laps at 6 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m.

The races will mark Arenz’s first career appearance at both tracks.

“I always like to take on new tracks,” Arenz said. “I see it as a challenge to test my knowledge and skill. We will do what we do every night – watch the track, watch other drivers on the track, make smart choices and be smooth and consistent.”

Hartmann shifts focus, eyes Cedar Lake Outlaws doubleheader

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 25, 2025 – A night that started with promise ended prematurely with more motor woes for Austin Hartmann and the members of the 87A Hartmann Racing Team at the Road America Challenge Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series event at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, June 21.

The fifth-year Sprint Car competitor fired off the evening with a solid seventh-place effort in the 25-car qualifying field with a lap of 12.158 seconds.

Following a fourth-place finish in the first eight-lap IRA heat race, Hartmann earned his third IRA dash appearance of the 2025 campaign. After rolling off third in the first dash, Hartmann placed fifth to earn the 10th starting spot in the 30-lap IRA headliner.

However, Hartmann’s A-main run proved to be short lived as he dropped out of the race on lap 3 with motor issues. He received credit for a 25th-place finish.

In a season-plagued by engine problems, Hartmann will veer off the IRA tour this weekend in favor of a different destination.

“It’s just been one of those years with all of the motor problems,” Hartmann said. “We have a fresh bullet going in for the doubleheader coming up this weekend with the Outlaws at Cedar Lake.”

The team is now set to head to Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis. for a two-night stand with the NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series on Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28.

Hot laps start at 6:30 with qualifying and racing to follow.

Both nights will be streamed live at dirtvision.com.

Paul Pokorski makes best of Plymouth IRA test

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

Paul Pokorski made a guest driving appearance for his son, Alex,, in the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association Road America Challenge Saturday, June 21 at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. – RC Custom Design photo

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 24, 2025 – Competing with the team’s 360 Sprint Car against a field of 410 Sprint Cars with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association, Paul Pokorski turned in a solid effort in a guest driving role during the Road America Challenge at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wi. on Saturday, June 21.

With his son, Alex, attending a wedding, Paul filled in behind the wheel of the No. 4 Alex Pokorski-Akright Auto Racing Team 360 Sprint Car in IRA competition to mark his 33rd consecutive season in the driver’s seat of an open-wheel race car.

Paul opened the night by qualifying 24th in the 25-car field with a lap of 13.629 seconds around the 75-year-old semi-banked third-mile clay oval.

The West Bend, Wis. competitor finished eighth in the third eight-lap IRA heat race to earn the 24th starting spot in the evening’s 30-lap main event.

The 2014 Midwest Sprint Car Association Masters Series champion drove a steady race and endured a pair of caution flags and one red flag period to advance five positions on the way to a 19th-place showing in the team’s eighth IRA event of the 2025 campaign.

“The goal for the night was to support the IRA, and have some fun,” Pokorski said. “I’d say we did that. The night went better than expected. The bonus was I got to get a feel for the car and what it feels like when it’s set up the way Alex likes to run it. I’d have to say it felt pretty good, but there are a few minor details that we will work on that I didn’t like. We will go over it in the shop this week. We’re looking forward to having Alex back next week at PDTR with the MSA.”

The Alex Pokorski-Akright Auto Racing Team is set to compete with the Akright Auto 360 Sprint Cars at The Plymouth Dirt Track on Saturday, June 28. Team sponsor Pedal Down Promotions will serve as the presenting trophy sponsor for the evening.

Late heroics lift Karnitz to PDTR 360 Sprint Car win

Watt claims IRA Sprint Car victory, Taylor bags Wingless triumph

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

Kevin Karnitz of West Bend racked up his seventh career Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car A-main win at the Road America Challenge on Saturday, June 21 at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. – JW’s Car and Raccing Photos

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 21, 2025 – With the air temperature pushing the century mark, Kevin Karnitz of West Bend fired up a final corner pass to nip Joseph Hintz of Burnett in a hotly contested 25-lap Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing A main during the Road America Challenge at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, June 21.

Kelby Watt of Adel, Iowa led every lap but one on the way to his first career Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car victory in the 30-lap Road America Challenge main event and Adam Taylor of Wheatfield, Ind. posted a commanding win in the 20-lap Autometer Wisconsin wingLESS Sprint Car A main.

Second-year driver Joseph Hintz jumped into the lead of the 25-lap PDTR 360 Sprint Car main event from his outside front row starting position as fourth starter Kevin Karnitz followed in second.

On lap 8, Hintz caught the rear of the field before a caution flag appeared for the slowing car of two-time and defending PDTR 360 Sprint Car champion Ben Schmidt of Plymouth.

When the race resumed, Hintz opened up a full straightaway lead over Karnitz. He retained command of the race until a red flag appeared on lap 23 when Kurt Davis of South Milwaukee flipped along the front stretch after colliding with Donny Goeden of Kewaskum near the flag stand.

After a single-file restart, the final two laps featured fireworks as Hintz and Karnitz engaged in a fierce duel for the win. On lap 24, Karnitz ripped off a slide job in turn four to clear Hintz and gain the top spot. However, the 15-year-old standout battled back to steal the lead back from Karnitz with a slide job of his own in turn two on the final circuit.

Karnitz had one more move left as he dove low in turn four to sneak ahead of the high-riding Hintz exiting turn four to claim the hard-earned win by a slim half-car length margin.

Karnitz’s first A-main triumph since July 16, 2023 marked his seventh career PDTR 360 Sprint Car win and ninth career Midwest Sprint Car Association A-main victory.

Hintz crossed the line a close second, fifth starter Brandon Berth of Cascade took third, PDTR 360 Sprint Car rookie Tristan Furseth of Cambridge finished fourth after starting sixth and Chris Clayton of Waldo advanced from the 11th starting spot to place fifth.

“I’ve been finishing second for quite some time now,” Karnitz said. “I had to leave it all out there, so I did. I slid him pretty good in three and fourth and he got right back around me. I knew he was going to do the defensive move, so I tried to plug the top. Just give me a chance coming off three and four. That’s what we did. It feels awesome.”

Kelby Watt grabbed the lead at the start of the IRA 410 Sprint Car A main as second starter Jake Neuman of New Berlin, Ill. dueled with two-time PDTR 360 Sprint Car champ Travis Arenz of Sheboygan Falls, who started third, for the runner-up spot.

By lap 5, Watt had built up a huge half-lap lead before he got bottled up in thick lapped traffic, which allowed Neuman to cut into the lead gap. A red flag appeared on lap 15 when Tyler Tischendorf of Waupaca flipped in turn two.

Following the restart, Arenz slid past Neuman to gain second on lap 17. With the leaders sticking with the high line of the multi-groove racing surface, Arenz gradually reeled in Watt. On lap 24, Arenz surged into the lead along the inside lane in turn one with Watt tucked close behind.

One lap later, Arenz and Watt made contact in turn three while dueling for the lead amid lapped traffic, which resulted in Watt regaining the top spot. Meanwhile, Arenz brought out a yellow flag on lap 26 when he slowed in turn four with a flat right rear tire.

Following another caution flag on lap 26, Watt flexed his muscle in the closing laps to bolt away from Neuman on the way to his first career IRA A-main triumph by a huge half-lap margin.

Neuman placed second, fifth starter Blake Nimee of Yorkville, Ill. took third, Danny Schlafer of Sussex finished fourth after starting sixth and Max Guilford of Auckland, New Zealand charged up from the 18th starting spot to round out the top five.

Outside front-row starter George Gaertner Jr. of Salem led the opening lap of the Wisconsin wingLESS main event before third starter Miles Doherty of Delmar, Iowa took over the lead on the second circuit.

Doherty maintained the point over the next 10 laps before sixth starter Adam Taylor swept past Doherty to assume the lead. Taylor built up a full straightaway lead over Doherty on the way to a commanding victory in the non-stop event.

Doherty placed second, polesitter Tyler Kuxhouse of Antioch, Ill. was third, Gaertner Jr. wound up fourth and Tim Cox of Park City, Ill., who started fourth, placed fifth.

Lance Fassbender of Burnett earned fast qualifier honors in the PDTR 360 Sprint Car division with a lap of 13.383 seconds.

Kyle Schuett of Philo, Ill. was the fastest qualifier in the PDTR 410 Sprint Car division in 11.916 seconds.

The seventh event of the 2025 PDTR campaign, sponsored by Road America, drew 65 total entries, including 25 IRA 410 Sprint Cars, 22 PDTR 360 Sprint Cars and 18 wingLess Sprint Cars.

Plymouth Dirt Track Racing returns to action on Saturday, June 28 with the Super Six Late Model Series, along with competition in the Akright Auto 360 Sprint Car, Oostburg Automotive Grand National and Sheboygan Flooring B Mod divisions.

Pokorski pushes to season-best Plymouth 360 runner-up

Alex Pokorski claimed a second-place showing in the 25-lap Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car A main at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, June 14. – JW’s Car and Raccing Photos

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 17, 2025 – For the third straight week, Alex Pokorski seized a place on the podium in Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car competition, only this time it was one step higher as he steered his No. 4 Akright Auto Racing Team machine to a second-place finish on Saturday, June 14 at The Plymouth Dirt Track.

The fifth-year Sprint Car driver opened the evening by registering the 10th fastest qualifying lap in the 26-car field in 13.484 seconds.

He then advanced one spot in the first PDTR 360 Sprint Car heat race by placing third from the fourth starting position to earn a berth in the evening’s 22-car main event.

After lining up 10th for the 25-lap A main, Pokorski got a huge run on the drop of the green flag to advance up to fifth on lap 3. Without a caution flag, the West Bend native made up ground in a hurry along the hooked-up high groove, moving past Lance Fassbender to take third on lap 15.

Four laps later, Pokorski swung around Tyler Davis to assume second in the running order behind Scotty Neitzel’s lead car. After the lone caution flag of the race appeared on lap 19, the 2023 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing Most Improved Driver Award winner lined up directly behind Neitzel with a clear shot at a possible win.

However, Neitzel proved too strong along the thick cushion as he pulled away from Pokorski over the final six laps on the way to victory. Pokorski came home with a 2025 season-best runner-up showing following a pair of recent third-place finishes in PDTR 360 Sprint Car action.

“The track had some character,” Pokorski said. “It had a big cushion, and it got slick in the middle. It made for good racing. I enjoy that type of surface. I’m happy to have gone 10th to second. I just wish we would have gotten up one more spot at the end!”

Pokorski will return to Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series action with a doubleheader weekend of competition, which kicks off at Outagamie Speedway in Seymour, Wis. on Friday, June 20.

Spectator gates open at 4:30 p.m. with racing starting at 6:30 p.m.

The following night the team will compete in the IRA’s annual Road America Challenge event at The Plymouth Dirt Track.

Spectator gates open at 4:30 p.m. with on-track action at 5:30 p.m.

Neitzel nets victory in rare PDTR 360 Sprint Car start

Richards, Spaulding, Wuesthoff shine

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 14, 2025 – One of the most successful Sprint Car drivers in and around the state of Wisconsin over the past 37 years, Scotty Neitzel of Beaver Dam, made a surprise appearance at The Plymouth Dirt Track pay off with a victory in the 25-lap Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car A main on Saturday, June 14 in Plymouth, Wis.

A pair of first-time winners found their way to victory lane as Jared Spaulding of Greenville posted a win in the 25-lap Sheboygan Flooring B Mod main event and Phillip Wuesthoff of Beaver Dam emerged from a thrilling three-way duel to capture the 25-lap Sheboygan’s Rock Station, 106.5 The Buzz Unified Street Stock A main.

In the 25-lap Oostburg Automotive Grand National headliner, Jake Richards of Neshkoro proved triumphant.

The start of the 360 Sprint Car main event saw second starter Tyler Davis of Franklin lead the opening lap before 2008 PDTR 360 Sprint Car champ Lance Fassbender of Burnett burst into the lead along the outside lane of the well-manicured, multi-groove racing surface.

Fassbender built up a solid cushion over Davis in the initial stages of the race before catching the back of the field on lap 6.

As the leaders weaved through slower traffic, Neitzel, who started on the pole, closed in to pressure Fassbender for the top spot. After dueling side by side over the next two circuits in thick lapped traffic, Neitzel used a low move to steal the lead from Fassbender heading into turn one on lap 10.

Neitzel, who is a two-time Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series champion, began to stretch his advantage in the ensuing laps as 10th starter Alex Pokorski of West Bend worked the cushion to take over third on lap 15.

Four laps later, Pokorski moved around Davis to gain the runner-up spot. On the following circuit, the lone caution flag of the race appeared when Fassbender stopped along the back stretch.

Neitzel, who earned the 1996 Beaver Dam Raceway Bandit 360 Sprint Car title, utilized the high groove to pull away from Pokorski over the final five laps on the way to his third career PDTR 360 Sprint Car A-main victory and 14th Midwest Sprint Car Association triumph in his first 360 Sprint Car appearance of the 2025 season at The Plymouth Dirt Track.

Pokorski placed second, two-time and defending PDTR 360 Sprint Car champ Ben Schmidt of Plymouth raced his way up from the 12th starting spot to place third, three-time PDTR 360 Sprint Car champion Donny Goeden of Kewaskum finished fourth after starting 13th and 11th starter Clayton Rossmann of Wadsworth, Ill. completed the top five.

Outside front row starter Jason Juech of Plymouth controlled the first 10 laps of the Grand National main event before Will Schumacher of Hartford maneuvered from the fourth starting spot to assume the lead in turn four on lap 11.

Meanwhile, Jake Richards was close behind mounting a stirring charge to the front from the 10th starting position. On lap 13, Richards vaulted into second and set his sights on Schumacher for the lead.

The first of three cautions came on lap 16 for a multi-car incident in turn four, which knocked two-time and defending Grand National champ Will Sorce of Franksville out of the race.

Following the restart, Richards catapulted his way into the lead with a low move past Schumacher in turn one.

After two more caution flags on lap 20 and lap 23, Richards cruised to his second PDTR Grand National A-main win of 2025 and third overall triumph in the division at The Plymouth Dirt Track.

Schumacher finished second, Jack Wiroll of Sheboygan Falls started and finished third, 2019 PDTR Grand National champion Tyler Kulow of Sheboygan placed fourth from the ninth starting position and fifth starter Derek Kaat of Plymouth rounded out the top five.

Polesitter Tim Thrun of Horicon built up a big lead in the first seven laps of the B Mod main event before a caution flag flew on lap 8 for a two-car incident in turn three.

On lap 13, Jared Spaulding, who started seventh, worked his way into the second spot and quickly moved in to pressure Thrun for the top spot. Spaulding slipped underneath Thrun to steal the lead three laps later.

As Spaulding ran away at the front, Thrun engaged in a battle for second with 2024 PDTR B Mod champion Travis Schmidt of Plymouth, who started 11th, in the closing laps.

Spaulding went on to claim his first career PDTR B Mod main event victory.

Schmidt nipped Thrun at the line to take second, Thrun was third, ninth starter Matt Urban of Milwaukee placed fourth and Steve Lorier of Sheboygan charged up from the 14th starting position to finish fifth.

The Unified Street Stock guest division featured a barn burner of a contest between second starter Phillip Wuesthoff, Derek Schrauth of Omro, who started fourth, and Dan Gracyalny of Greenville, who came from the 10th starting spot.

Wuesthoff seized the early race lead before Schrauth advanced to challenge for the point on lap 7. The two drivers dueled side by side over the next six laps before Wuesthoff finally fended off Schrauth to maintain the lead on lap 13.

Three laps later, Schrauth came back to assume the top spot as Gracyalny bolted up to make it a three-car duel at the front. The top three ran in lock-step formation as they weaved their way through lapped traffic in the closing laps.

Gracyalny swept into the lead on lap 23 and appeared headed to victory lane. However, contact with a lapped car coming to the checkered flag sent Gracyalny spinning into Wuesthoff, who was surging in the outside lane.

The collision between Gracyalny and Wuesthoff turned both cars sideways with Wuesthoff inching across the finish line as the victor of the well-contested, highly intriguing race.

It was Wuesthoff’s first career Street Stock A-main victory at The Plymouth Dirt Track. Gracyalny took second, Schrauth wound up third, Courtney Atkinson of Muskego raced up from the 15th starting spot to take fourth and Paul Diefenthaler of Two Rivers placed fifth after starting 11th.

Joseph Hintz of Burnett won the 12-lap 360 Sprint Car B main. Sheboygan’s Ryan Minister was victorious in the 12-lap Grand National B main. Vince Jung of Iron Ridge earned the win in the 12-lap B Mod B main and Brooke Diefenthaler of Manitowoc placed first in the 12-lap Unified Street Stock B main.

Scotty Neitzel earned fast qualifier honors in the PDTR 360 Sprint Car division with a lap of 13.015 seconds.

The sixth event of the 2025 PDTR campaign, sponsored by Vesta, drew 111 total entries, including 32 B Mods, 29 Unified Street Stocks, 26 360 Sprint Cars and 24 Grand Nationals.

Next up The Plymouth Dirt Track plays host to the annual Road America Challenge featuring the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series on Saturday, June 21.

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 11, 2025 – No matter how many victories he might secure or championship trophies he may lift during the remainder of his racing career, June 5, 2025, will most certainly be a date neither Travis Arenz nor a legion of Sprint Car fans near and far will ever forget.

Following a strong start to the 2025 Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series, Arenz checked into 141 Speedway aiming to gain experience against top-level competition in his first career entry in a Kubota High Limit Racing event for the series’ debut at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek, Wis. on Thursday, June 5.

The 18th-year competitor left the 141 Speedway facility as the shocking winner of the $26,000 Rayce Rudeen Foundation top prize with High Limit Racing, which boasts a strong contingent of the best 410 Winged Sprint Car racers in the world.

Arenz’s remarkable evening opened by drawing the No. 1 pill for qualifying, which turned out to be very advantageous for the Sheboygan Falls, Wis. driver. As the track began to dry out significantly during the qualifying session, Arenz’s early lap of 11.209 put him second in the final qualifying order among the 29-car field.

After placing fourth in the second High Limit heat race, Arenz advanced to the dash, which set the first three rows of starters for the 35-lap main event. Arenz placed fifth in the dash to roll off fifth in the first High Limit Racing A main to ever be contested at 141 Speedway.

The 2021 and 2022 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing and Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Car champion bided his time in the opening laps of the A main sticking primarily to the bottom groove of the third-mile semi-banked egg-shaped clay oval bullring.

On lap 12, Arenz snuck underneath Justin Peck to claim second. Following the third caution flag of the race on lap 15, Arenz dove low to power past leader Bill Balog and grab the top spot.

From there, Arenz successfully endured four more caution flags and pulled out to a half-lap lead over the second-place car of Tanner Thorson on the way to his first career High Limit Racing main event victory in his first-ever attempt.

The win also marked Arenz’s third career 410 Sprint Car victory and his 73rd overall A-main triumph spanning 4-cylinders, Sport Mods, 360 Sprint Cars and 410 Sprint Cars.

“It was a ride of emotions at 141,” Arenz said. “It was a night that made history and one we will never forget. The night started great with the pill draw going in our favor. I would have been ecstatic with a top-10 finish. Who would have thought we would go out and win? I like to take advantage of competing with other series when I can to gain more experience and challenge my knowledge and driving skills. How are you going to get better if you don’t challenge yourself?

“This is the biggest accomplishment to date in my racing career,” he said. “It’s been talked about lately how the drivers on national series drive race cars for a living. Most have a set-up guy and paid crew members. My crew and I work full-time jobs. I work 50-plus hours a week, do maintenance on the cars and equipment and then go race. I also make set-up decisions and read track conditions. So, to be able to be competitive with these top teams is very rewarding. It’s an honor to earn such a big win for my sponsors, crew and myself.”

After soaring to the highest of highs in the sport of Winged Sprint Car racing, Arenz endured some challenges during a pair of NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Series events on Friday, June 6 at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. and Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wis. on Saturday, June 7.

Arenz qualified 30th overall and 15th in qualifying group B in the 39-car field with a time of 12.112 seconds at The Plymouth Dirt Track. He then placed seventh in heat race three to miss out on an A-main transfer spot by two positions.

Arenz placed sixth in the 12-lap Last Chance Showdown to fall short of qualifying for the A main by a pair of spots.

On Saturday, June 7, the Travis Arenz Motorsports 25T team headed southwest to the Beaver Dam Raceway where Arenz turned in the 34th fastest qualifying lap in the 36-car field in 12.139 seconds.

He placed ninth in the second heat race and started 14th in the 12-lap Last Chance Showdown. After moving up to ninth on lap 6, Arenz got high in turn two and collided with the wall, which ended his night with a 14th-place showing.

“At Plymouth at Beaver Dam, our drawing skills for qualifying were terrible,” Arenz said. “I qualified almost last both nights and with the heavy competition, we didn’t move forward as much as we needed to. There were some set-up choices I should have made differently and, unfortunately, we didn’t make the features on Friday or Saturday. On Saturday, unfortunately, the wall in turn two ended our night early in the B main. I would have been interested to see what would have happened if I had been able to finish the B. In six laps I drove from 14th to 9th and the top four transferred to the A main. All in all, I learned so much during the weekend.”

Arenz will return to Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association competition on Friday, June 13 at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois and Saturday, June 14 at Federated Auto Parts I-55 Raceway Park in Pevely, Missouri.

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

After competing four consecutive nights with High Limit Racing and the World of Outlaws, Austin Hartmann will compete in a Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association Series doubleheader at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Ill. on Friday, June 13 and Federated Auto Parts I-55 Raceway Park in Pevely, Mo. on Saturday, June 14. – HW Designs photo

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 11, 2025 – It was a week unlike any other for Austin Hartmann and the members of the 87A Hartmann Racing team featuring four consecutive nights of competition with the top two Winged Sprint Car racing touring series in the nation starting Wednesday, June 4 and running through Saturday, June 7.

The grueling week of competition against the nation’s best drivers and teams kicked off with a Kubota High Limit Racing event on Wednesday, June 4 at Red Cedar Speedway in Menomonie, Wis.

In his first appearance at the three-eighths-mile semi-banked clay oval, Hartmann opened the night by qualifying 20th in the 27-car field with a lap of 13.362 seconds.

After finishing eighth in the second heat race, advanced to the 30-lap A main with a fourth-place showing in the 12-lap B main.

Hartmann started 22nd and was running 21st when he retired from the race on lap 14 and wound up with a 22nd-place finish.

From there, Hartmann headed back to more familiar surroundings for the $26,000-to-win Kubota High Limit Racing Rayce Rudeen Foundation event at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek, Wis. on Thursday, June 5.

The Plymouth, Wis. competitor qualified 16th in the 29-car field with a lap of 11.713 seconds before placing seventh in the first High Limit heat race to miss A-main transfer spot by one position.

Hartmann lined up on the pole for the 12-lap B main with multi-discipline racing superstar Kyle Larson lining up on the outside of the front row. Hartmann exchanged slide jobs with Larson in the opening laps before falling back to end his night with a ninth-place finish.

Hartmann’s home track – The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. – was next up on Friday, June 6 as the team entered the first NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series event to be contested at the track in 20 years.

The 2020 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing and Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Car Rookie of the Year Award recipient qualified 37th overall in the 39-car field and 17th in qualifying group B with a lap of 12.297 seconds. He then placed ninth in the third 10-lap heat race and capped the night with a 13th-place finish in the 12-lap Last Chance Showdown.

Hartmann closed out the four-race swing with a NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Series event at Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wis. on Saturday, June 7.

After turning in the 35th fastest qualifying lap in the 37-car field with a tour of the third-mile high-banked clay oval in 12.286 seconds. Hartmann then placed ninth in the third heat race before pulling the curtain on the four-race run with a 12th-place showing in the Last Chance Showdown.

“It was a tough weekend all around for the team,” Hartmann said. “We’ll regroup and get ready for this weekend’s IRA races at Jacksonville and I-55.”

The team is set to compete with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association Sprint Car Series this Friday, June 13 at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois and Saturday, June 14 at Federated Auto Parts I-55 Raceway Park in Pevely, Missouri.

On Friday, June 6, Pokorski racked up his second consecutive podium showing behind the wheel of his Akright Auto-backed No. 4 machine in Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car action at The Plymouth Dirt Track.

Before a sellout crowd on hand to witness the return of the NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series to The Plymouth Dirt Track for the first time in 20 years, Pokorski opened the night by qualifying fourth in the 22-car PDTR 360 Sprint Car field with a lap of 13.068 seconds.

After placing fourth in the third PDTR 360 Sprint Car heat race, the fifth-year Sprint Car racer earned the 10th starting spot in the 25-lap main event.

The first 22 laps of the event included fourth caution flags, which left Pokorski fifth in the running order for the final restart of the race. The West Bend native used a strong restart to vault past Brandon Berth and Tristan Furseth along the high groove of the well-manicured racing surface.

Pokorski maintained the third spot in the final circuits to secure his second straight third-place run in PDTR 360 Sprint Car competition.

Pokorski will compete with the Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Cars again this Saturday, June 14, at The Plymouth Dirt Track.

Davis drives to PDTR Sprint Car win, Abreu shines before capacity crowd

Abreu fends off Kofoid to prevail in Outlaws return

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 6, 2025 – With a sellout crowd on hand to welcome the return of the NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series to The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. after a 20-year absence, 40-year racing veteran Kurt Davis of South Milwaukee scored a flag-to-flag victory in the 25-lap Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car A main on Friday, June 6.

In the 35-lap World of Outlaws Sprint Car headliner, Rico Abreu of St. Helena, Calif. turned back a spirited challenge from Penngrove, Calif. driver Buddy Kofoid in the closing laps to notch his second career A-main victory at The Plymouth Dirt Track.

Two-time PDTR 360 Sprint Car champion Kurt Davis seized the lead of the 25-lap PDTR 360 Sprint Car A main on the opening lap from the pole position with outside front row starter Clayton Rossmann of Wadsworth, Ill. giving chase. On lap 5, Rossmann closed to within striking distance along the far inside line of the well-manicured third-mile clay oval.

On lap 10, Davis caught the rear of the 22-car field and was slicing his way through slower traffic when the first of four caution flags flew on lap 15 after Joseph Hintz contacted the turn two wall.

Rossmann and third starter Chris Clayton of Waldo collided in turn two on the ensuing restart to bring out the second caution flag.

After one lap of green flag action, another caution flag appeared when Scott Grissom of Winthrop Harbor, Ill. spun in turn four.

Following the restart, ninth starter Kevin Karnitz of West Bend rode the outside groove to sweep past fourth starter Tyler Davis of Franklin into second on lap 17. Five laps later, the fourth and final caution flag was displayed when Tyler Davis and Will Gerrits of Waupun made contact in turn three to slow the pace on lap 22.

Following the last restart of the race, Alex Pokorski of West Bend, who started 10th, made a big charge along the cushion to grab third. Meanwhile, Karnitz ran down Davis in the closing laps in a bid to wrestle the lead away.

However, Davis held tight to the low line in the final circuits to secure his first main event victory of the 2025 campaign, 27th PDTR 360 Sprint Car A-main triumph and series-leading 66th Midwest Sprint Car Association main-event win in the non-points event.

The win vaulted Davis into a tie with two-time PDTR 360 Sprint Car Champion Ben Schmidt of Plymouth for second place on the all-time PDTR 360 Sprint Car A-main victory list.

“I have a lot of laps around this place,” Davis said. “I knew running the top of the track wasn’t fast enough to get it done because of the bite I had getting off the corners was too good.”

Karnitz trailed Davis to the finish line by a close two-car length margin. Pokorski wound up third, fifth starter Brandon Berth of Cascade came home fourth and PDTR 360 Sprint Car rookie Tristan Furseth of Cambridge placed fourth after starting seventh.

Rico Abreu, who started second, grabbed the lead from the start of the 35-lap World of Outlaws Sprint Car A-main to set up a short, but intense duel with three-time Knoxville Nationals winner and 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson of Elk Grove, Calif., who started on the pole.

On lap 6, Larson’s night came to an early end with a hard hit against the turn two fence after his machine suffered a broken axle. When the race resumed, 2024 World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year Award winner Buddy Kofoid, who started fourth slipped into second.

After the fifth and final caution flag appeared on lap 19, the rest of the race went clean and green as Abreu worked traffic to perfection to build up a full straightaway cushion over Kofoid.

Abreu caught the back of the field as the laps wound down, which allowed Kofoid to take a big bite out of the lead gap. With two laps to go, Kofoid attempted to duck under Abreu in turn three which resulted in slight contact between the two lead cars in turn four.

However, Abreu quickly gathered up his car and pulled away to secure his second career A-main victory at The Plymouth Dirt Track and first since his triumph in the Rayce Rudeen Foundation race with the All-Star Circuit of Champions in 2023.

The win was Abreu’s second of the 2025 World of Outlaws season and 19th overall in WoO competition, which moved him into 33rd on the series’ all-time victory list.

After scoring his eighth victory in his last 15 Sprint Car starts, Abreu, Abreu joined Tim Kaeding (2005) and Joey Saldana (2004) as World of Outlaws A-main winners at The Plymouth Dirt Track.

Kofoid had to settle for second, third starter Tyler Courtney of Indianapolis, Ind. placed third, Carson Macedo finished fourth from the eighth starting spot and five-time World of Outlaws champion Brad Sweet of Grass Valley, Calif placed fifth after starting fifth.

Clayton Rossmann picked up the PDTR 360 Sprint Car fast qualifier award with a lap of 12.924 seconds.

Rico Abreu turned in the fastest lap in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series qualifying in 11.385 seconds.

The 12-lap World of Outlaws Last Chance Showdown win went to Hunter Schuerenberg of Sikeston, Mo.

The fifth event of the 2025 PDTR campaign, sponsored by Hopf Farms, produced a field of 61 Sprint Cars, including 39 World of Outlaws Series 410 Sprint Cars and 22 PDTR 360 Sprint Cars.

The Plymouth Dirt Track will return to action on Saturday, June 14 with Street Stocks serving as the guest division courtesy of Sheboygan’s Rock Station 106.5 The Buzz.

The Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Cars, Oostburg Automotive Grand Nationals and Sheboygan Flooring B Mods will also be in action.

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 3, 2025 – After competing in seven consecutive Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series events to start the 2025 season, the Alex Pokorski-Akright Auto Racing Team returned to its roots to compete with the Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track and MMW Industrial Supply Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Cars for the first time this season at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, May 31.

The Alex Pokorski-Akright Auto Racing Team opened the program by qualifying ninth in the 28-car field with a lap of 12.957 around the venerable third-mile clay oval.

The fifth-year Sprint Car competitor then placed second from the third starting spot in the eight-lap PDTR-MSA heat race two to advance to A-main competition.

“It was a little bit of an odd feeling to drive into the corner for the first time during hot laps,” Pokorski said. “The 360 drives different than the 410, but it quickly became comfortable again.”

Following the passing points dice roll invert, the West Bend, Wis. native rolled off on the outside of the third row in the 25-lap PDTR-MSA main event. Pokorski exhibited patience in the early going as he searched for a comfortable groove to run.

Eventually, he hit his stride to work past Chris Larson, Brady Portschy and Clayton Rossmann to claim third in the running order on lap 14. As the leaders negotiated thick lapped traffic in the closing stages of the race, Pokorski began to reel in Karnitz, who was running second after starting third.

While outside front-row starter Ben Schmidt cruised away from the field to build up a half-way cushion as the last wound down, Pokorski went on to claim a season-best third-place finish in his 2025 PDTR-MSA 360 Sprint Car debut.

“We were fast in the feature,” he said. “I wish we would have had a caution to get a chance to race against the top two.”

Pokorski is set to compete with the Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing-MMW Industrial Supply Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Cars again this Friday, June 6 at The Plymouth Dirt Track in support of the NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, which will make its first appearance at The Plymouth Dirt Track since 2005.

Pit gates open at 2 p.m. Spectator gates open at 4 p.m. with hot laps/qualifying at 6:30 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m.

For those unable to attend, the event will be broadcast live on dirtvision.com.

Berth earns third straight MSA Angell Park triumph

By Jeff Pederson – Pedal Down Promotions

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 1, 2025 – Brandon Berth’s burgeoning relationship with Angell Park Speedway advanced to a whole new level on Sunday, June 1 as the Cascade, Wis. driver rolled to his third consecutive MMW Industrial Supply Midwest Sprint Car Association Series A-main victory at the historic third-mile clay oval in Sun Prairie, Wis.

Berth, who claimed his first career MSA main event victory on July 16, 2023 and added another win one year later on July 2, 2024, proved good things come in threes during the fifth MSA 360 Sprint Car Series event of the 2025 campaign.

MSA rookies Eric Wilke of Genesse and Tristan Furseth of Cambridge shared the front row of the 25-lap main event with Wilke seizing the lead on the opening lap from the pole position.

On lap 3, Furseth dove underneath Wilke in turn three to assume the top spot. Berth, who started fifth, began flexing his muscle by storming past two-time and defending MSA champion Ben Schmidt of Plymouth to take over fourth on lap 6.

Two laps later, Berth advanced to third after working past five-time MSA champ Kurt Davis of South Milwaukee.

As the leaders maneuvered through slower traffic, Berth swept around Wilke and Furseth to command the lead on lap 9. The lone caution flag of the race flew for Furseth’s slowing car along the back stretch one lap later.

When the race resumed, Davis, who started fourth, moved into second and two-time Interstate Racing Association champion and longtime occasional MSA competitor Scotty Neitzel of Beaver Dam advanced to third from the ninth starting position.

One lap later, Neitzel passed Davis to gain the runner-up spot before the leaders caught the rear of the field on lap 14, which allowed the 1996 Beaver Dam Raceway Bandit 360 Sprint Car division champion to carve into Berth’s lead

Neitzel used the low groove to pull within striking distance of Berth’s cushion-riding 22B machine on lap 19. However, the 2016 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing B Mod champ and seventh-year MSA 360 Sprint Car driver pulled away over the final circuits en route to his first A-main victory of the 2025 campaign, third MSA win in a row at Angell Park Speedway and sixth career MSA main event triumph.

Neitzel had to settle for second in his first race of the 2025 season behind the wheel of an MSA 360 Sprint Car, Schmidt placed third, Davis wound up fourth and 15-year-old Joseph Hintz of Burnett worked his way up from the 11th starting spot to place fifth.

“I don’t know what it is about this place that we’ve done so well here,” Berth said in victory lane. “I got my first win here a couple years ago. I had another last year when the track was really rough. Tonight, the track was smooth, dry and wide with multiple grooves. I love coming down here to race.”

Scotty Neitzel was the overall MSA fast qualifier with a top lap of 12.749 seconds.

The MSA’s first of two scheduled events at Angell Park Speedway during the 2025 season drew 20 cars.

The MSA is set to support the NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series at The Plymouth Dirt Track on Friday, June 6 with a non-points event. Pit gates open at 2 p.m., with grandstand gates opening at 4 p.m. Hot laps are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and racing is to commence at 7:30 p.m.

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) May 31, 2025 – From dramatic finishes to close contact to dominating performances, the Plymouth Dirt Track Racing program at the Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. provided a little bit of it all on Saturday, May 31.

In the 30-lap Seubert Calf Ranches Super Six Late Model presented by 106.5 The Buzz, Nick Anvelink of Bonduel held off a spirited challenge from Waukesha’s Taylor Scheffler in the closing laps to claim the victory.

Two-time and defending Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion Ben Schmidt of Plymouth impressively led flag-to-flag to claim victory in the 25-lap headliner.

Tyler Wilson of Little Suamico steered his IMCA Stock Car to victory lane against a strong field of Grand Nationals in the 25-lap Oostburg Automotive Grand National main event.

Last year’s PDTR B Mod champ Travis Schmidt of Plymouth put together a stellar performance on the way to victory in the 25-lap Sheboygan Flooring B Mod A main.

After starting on the outside of the front row, Nick Anvelink blasted his way into the lead along the cushion exiting turn four of the opening lap of the Late Model headliner as polesitter Taylor Scheffler of Waukesha dueled with third starter and six-time PDTR Late Model champ Brad Mueller of Random Lake for the runner-up spot.

With Anvelink continuing to hold the top spot, 2014 PDTR Late Model champ Mitch McGrath of Waukesha, who started fourth, slipped past Taylor Scheffler to take over second on lap 13. McGrath’s bid for victory drew to a quick halt on lap 21 when he pulled off the track with smoke billowing from his ailing machine.

After a pair of caution flags on lap 23 and lap 24, Scheffler and Mueler continued to engage in a heated duel for second in the running order. After sealing the second position, Scheffler bolted in to close the gap on Anvelink on lap 26.

Three laps later, Scheffler got a run on Anvelink along the high groove before dipping low to pull even in turn two. After Anvelink battled back to retain the lead in turns three and four, Scheffler ripped off a slide job in turn two on the final circuit.

Scheffler briefly cleared Anvelink before contact between the two cars pushed Sheffler sideways and allowed Anvelink to sneak past and Mueller to close the gap significantly.

The three competitors raced to the checkered flag under a thin blanket with Avelink prevailing by a mere .03 of a second for his fifth career PDTR Late Model victory.

Scheffler wound up a very close second with Mueller immediately behind in third. Sixth starter Brett Swedberg of Shawano placed fourth and Jayden Schmidt of Seymour worked his way up from the ninth starting position to round out the top five.

Outside front row starter Ben Schmidt outpowered polesitter Brady Portschy of Plymouth to surge into the top spot on the opening lap of the 360 Sprint Car main event with Clayton Rossman of Wadsworth, Ill., who started fourth, following in second.

Schmidt ran away to build up a significant lead before he caught the rear of the field on lap 7. Rossmann was able to close briefly on Schmidt before the veteran Sprint Car competitor found another gear to slice his way through slower traffic in clinical fashion.

As the leaders sliced their way through the rear of the field, third starter Kevin Karnitz of West Bend slipped past Rossmann to seal second on lap 12. Two laps later, sixth starter Alex Pokorski of West Bend assumed third by working past Rossmann.

With 10 laps to go, Schmidt had built up a huge half-lap, 6-second lead over Karnitz. Schmidt retained his sizable lead down the stretch to post his second A-main victory of the 2025 campaign and 27th career PDTR 360 Sprint A-main triumph in the caution-free event.

The victory moved Schmidt into sole possession of second place on the all-time PDTR 360 Sprint Car wins list. It was also Schmidt’s 48th career MMW Industrial Supply Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Car A-main win.

Karnitz finished second, Pokorski was third in his first appearance of the 2025 season in PDTR-MSA 360 Sprint Car action, three-time PDTR 360 Sprint Car champion Donny Goeden of Kewaskum placed fourth after starting seventh and Rossmann rounded out the top five.

Brad Weiss of Cascade blasted into the lead on the drop of the green flag from his outside front row starting spot in the 25-lap Grand National A main. On lap 5, seven-time Plymouth track champion in Grand National and Super Stock competition Brian Gilles of Plymouth pulled up to pressure Weiss for the top spot from the third starting position.

Meanwhile, sixth starter Tyler Wilson of Little Suamico pounded the cushion to seize third from the sixth starting position on lap 7.

With Wilson closing quickly along the outer edge of the racing surface, Weiss and Gilles raced three wide with Wilson on lap 22.

One lap later, Gilles unleashed a bid to take over the top spot from Weiss in turn two on lap 23. However, the two drivers made contact along the backstretch which allowed Wilson to bolt past both Weiss and Gilles and nail down the lead of the race.

Wilson went on to capture his first career Grand National A-main triumph in thrilling fashion behind the wheel of his IMCA Stock Car. Gilles recovered to place second, seventh starter Ryan Minster of Sheboygan placed third, Weiss held on to place fourth and 2019 PDTR Grand National champion Tyler Kulow of Plymouth moved up from the eighth starting to round out the top five.

Polesitter Brad Buckmann of Kiel assumed the lead in the 25-lap B Mod main event from the pole. On lap 2, outside front row starter and 2024 PDTR B Mod champ Travis Schmidt of Plymouth gained the top spot exiting turn four while third starter Travis Kleindl of Beaver Dam assumed second.

After enduring a string of four caution periods over the next 10 laps, three-time PDTR B Mod champion Tim Warner of Malone swept into third from the fifth starting position on lap 15.

Following the fifth and final caution flag on lap 19, Warner secured the runner-up spot. However, Schmidt held strong on the stretch as he rolled to his eighth career PDTR B Mod A-main victory.

Warner had to settle for second, Kleindl wound up third, sixth starter Spencer Long of Sheboygan Falls placed fourth and Steve Lorier of Sheboygan placed fifth after starting ninth.

B-main victories went to Steven Ruh of New Holstein (360 Sprint Car), Will Schumacher of Hartford (Grand National) and Jordan Gracyalny (B Mod).

Mitch McGrath claimed top qualifying honors in the Late Model division with a lap of 13.720 seconds.

Two-time Eastern Wisconsin Stock Car Winged Super Modified champ Billy Kreutz of Kiel earned his second fast qualifier award of the 2025 season in the 360 Sprint Car division with a lap of 12.721 seconds.

The fourth event of the 2025 PDTR campaign, sponsored by Josfro Electric, attracted a season-high 112 total entries, including 32 Grand Nationals, 31 B Mods, 28 360 Sprint Cars and 21 Super Six Late Model Series cars.

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) May 28, 2025 –Travis Arenz battled through a handful of challenges to pile up two more top-10 A-main showings during a doubleheader weekend of Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series action at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis. on Saturday, May 24 and 141 Speedway in Francis Creek, Wis. on Sunday, May 25.

The 2021 and 2022 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing and Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Car champ kicked off the Memorial Day Weekend twin bill by qualifying fifth in the 36-car field at Wilmot Raceway on May 24 with a lap of 12.409 seconds.

After starting on the pole of the second IRA heat race, Arenz cruised to his second heat race victory of the 2025 season to earn a dash position. However, mechanical gremlins prompted Arenz to withdraw from the first dash.

“Unfortunately, the engine’s coolant temp spiked,” Arenz said. “Without wanting to possibly cause more damage to the motor, we pulled the backup car down. I did well in qualifying and won my heat race. I was supposed to be in the dash, but decided it was smart to pull off and get the backup car ready before the feature.”

Despite encountering less-than-ideal track conditions for passing, Arenz remained undeterred as he blasted the cushion from the 23rd starting position to secure a solid eighth-place showing.

One night later, Arenz qualified 12th in the 30-car field at 141 Speedway. After starting on the pole, the Sheboygan Falls, Wis. driver earned his second heat race victory of the weekend to set himself up for his fifth dash appearance of the 2025 season.

After placing fourth in the first four-lap dash, Arenz rolled off from the seventh starting position for the 30-lap main event. Arenz held his own throughout the first half of the race before coming home seventh on a rubber-down one-lane racing surface.

“We got up early Sunday morning and swapped motors into my main car and did maintenance before heading to 141,” Arenz said. “The track conditions at 141 weren’t the most favorable. I started seventh in the feature and finished in the same spot. There wasn’t much passing during any race throughout the night due to track conditions, but we gave it our all.”

The IRA is off over the next two weeks. In the meantime, Arenz plans to enter the High Limit Racing Series event at 141 Speedway on Tuesday, June 3.

Check the Travis Arenz Motorsports Facebook and X (Twitter) pages for schedule announcements regarding the team’s potential entry in additional events during the World of Outlaws Series swing through Wisconsin June 6-8.

Arenz will return to IRA competition on Friday, June 13 at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois and Saturday, June 14 at I-55 Federated Auto Parts Raceway Park in Pevely, Missouri.
