(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) September 13, 2017 – After rain washed out the previous two weekends of racing, Paul Pokorski and his Pokorski Motorsports team eagerly returned to action last Saturday, Sept. 9 at The Plymouth Dirt Track.
With a stout field of 29 PDTR 360 Sprint Cars signed in for the evening, Pokorski drew the sixth starting position in the third PDTR 360 Sprint Car heat race. Pokorski was strong from the start of the third heat race, working past three cars over the course of the 10-lap event to post a third-place showing and claim a spot in the 25-lap A-main event.
Following the invert, Pokorski lined up fourth in the 25-lap PDTR 360 Sprint Car A main. The 2014 Midwest Sprint Car Association Masters Series champion ran in the third position in the early going utilizing the high line of the smooth, slick, multi-groove racing surface.
As the race progressed, Pokorski struggled to find speed exiting the corners. He eventually placed eighth in the final running order in a race won by Justin Miller. It was Pokorski’s 11th top-10 finish of the 2017 season.
“The car felt really good all night,” Pokorski said. “I’m not sure what we were lacking in the feature, but we were getting beat on the corner exit.”
Just one race remains on the 2017 schedule for the Pokorski Motorsports team on Saturday, Sept. 30, at The Plymouth Dirt Track. The event will cap the 2017 point series for both the Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car division and Midwest Sprint Car Association.
Heading into the final race of the season, Pokorski sits 9th in the PDTR Sprint Car point standings and 7th in MSA points.
“I’m not ready for the season to be over yet, but it should be a great show on September 30th,” Pokorski said. “I’m a little disappointed with where we are sitting in the point standings, but we had an A-main win and some fun along the way this year. No matter what, we will be fired up to do it all again next year.”
Along with the PDTR/MSA 360 Sprint Cars, the final race of the 2017 season at The Plymouth Dirt Track on Saturday, Sept. 30 will also feature the Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Cars, Wisconsin Wingless Sprint Cars and Wisconsin-Illinois Mini Sprints. Hot laps are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
