(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 18, 2024 – For just the second time in 2024, Randy Post tasted Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car A-main action and came away with an expanded array of notes to carry forward on Saturday, June 15 at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis.

Post opened up the night by qualifying 14th overall in the 27-car PDTR-Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Car field with a lap of 12.860 seconds. The third-year Sprint Car racer then started and finished fifth in the second PDTR-MSA eight-lap heat race to earn a transfer spot to the 25-lap A main.

“The car felt really good in qualifying and the heat race,” Post said. “I struggled a little in the very beginning of the heat race, which caused us to lose one or two spots right at the start. Due to the misfortune of the 09 car [Clayton Rossmann], we were able to finish in the final transfer spot in the heat, which took a lot of weight off my shoulders on not having to run a very stacked B main.”

The Oostburg, Wis. rolled off from the 11th starting spot in the 22-car PDTR-MSA 360 Sprint Car main event and held his own throughout the swift, caution-free race to come home with a solid 16th-place showing in a race won by Ben Schmidt.

“Our starting spot in the feature was very nice, but early on in the race one of our shocks went bad and my car would not handle,” Post said. “I went into the feature with the goal to hold my own and try to prove to myself that we can run with the big guys even if we aren’t supposed to. It helps greatly running with the top half of the field seeing how they are attacking each corner on the track and how aggressively they are driving each other. I know when I am comfortable, that’s how I can expect the racing to be.

“The A main was very clean and competitive and I would love to see all of our races go like that the rest of the season,” he said. “I am very excited to take what we have learned in our short three-feature season to the next level to see if we can consistently be a top-10 car. If the driver can read the track better, we may have a shot at doing that.”

The Randy Post Racing Team will next be in action with the Akright Auto PDTR-MSA 360 Sprint Cars at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, June 22, along with the Badger Midgets, Grand Nationals and B Mods.

Spectator gates will open at 4:30 p.m. with qualifying at 5:30 p.m. and racing at 6 p.m.
