New Pedal Down Promotions book publication due out in early December
(Allouez, Wis.) November 2 – Retired corrections officer and author Joe Verdegan has announced that his new book “The Reformatory – Tales From Green Bay’s maximum-security prison” is now available for pre-order at his website joeverdegan.com.
Verdegan worked as a correctional for nearly 27 years and has penned a book detailing his experiences that he and fellow staff encountered at the 125-year-old Green Bay Correctional Institution in Allouez, Wisconsin.
Fans who pre-order the book up until the books expected launch date of December 5 will be guaranteed shipment in time for the holidays. Pre-ordered book sales will be mailed out beginning the week of December 7.

The book will be Verdegan’s third that has authored that will be published through Pedal Down Promotions in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
In 1993 Verdegan left his job as a news reporter at WOSH AM 1490 radio in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to embark upon a career with the state Department of Corrections. In his book Verdegan will take you from his start in the officer’s academy, through his short time working at Racine Correctional Institution and eventually winding up at GBCI, which was commonly referred to as “Gladiator School” because of the high number of inmate brawls staff had to respond to on almost a daily basis.
The book is written from his perspective and includes interviews and tales from more than 150 of his co-workers in his three decades inside the walls.
This will be Verdegan’s sixth book he has penned. His other five titles all documented local and regional stock car racing history in Wisconsin and Michigan.
An exact date and location of this book launch is expected to be released sometime in November.
