(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 26, 2017 – The up-and-down tempo of the 2017 racing season continued for Paul Pokorski and his Pokorski Motorsports team in Plymouth Dirt Track racing action at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds in Plymouth on Saturday, July 22.
With 26 PDTR Sprint Cars signed in for the night, Pokorski started eighth in the first Sprint Car heat race. Pokorski ran in the eighth spot for the first five laps before a caution flag was displayed for Al Schlafer, who spun in turn one on lap 6.
Pokorski restarted seventh and held the position at the finish to fall just short of an A-main transfer spot. He then started on the pole for the 12-lap B main and came home second to qualify for the A-main.
“The car felt great in hot laps, and it wasn’t bad in the heat race either,” Pokorski said. “Things in the heat race just didn’t shake out the way we needed them to. In the B main, we were lacking some side bite that we needed.”
After starting 18th in the Sprint Car A main, Pokorski’s car received minor damage in a three-car incident in turn 2 on lap 2 involving Doug Wondra, Nich Melis and Ryan Mayr.
The 2014 Midwest Sprint Car Association Masters Series champion was unable to make up much ground the rest of the way as he posted a 17th-place finish in the final rundown.
In the feature, we fixed some of the side bite issue from the B, and the car was better,” he said. “I’m not sure what we were doing wrong. We did get some damage in that early caution in turn 2, but I honestly can’t blame the poor performance on that. It’s just an extension of how our season has been going – very up and down. We’ll keep digging, try to correct some things and hope for good things next weekend both Saturday and Sunday night. I’m looking forward to going back to Angel Park since we didn’t get to race much the first time we were there this year.”
A doubleheader weekend for the Pokorski Motorsports team will begin this Saturday, July 29 at The Plymouth Dirt Track at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds. Racing is set to get under way at 6 p.m.
On Sunday, July 30, the team will head to the Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie for the second of three scheduled Midwest Sprint Car Association events at the historic third-mile clay oval. Hot laps start at 6 p.m. with racing to follow.

Pokorski Motorsports Sponsor Showcase – Acme Armature Works Inc.
Pokorski Motorsports will like to welcome Acme Armature Works Inc. of Sheboygan as a new sponsor for the 2017 racing season
Acme Armature Works Inc. debuted last September when Chad Bahrs purchased Sheboygan Armature Works. Located at 2727 North 21st St. in Sheboygan, Acme Armature Works specializes in electrical and servo motor repair and sales for industrial and commercial customers.
Bahrs, who resides in Elkhart Lake with his wife Jamie and three children, describes Acme Armature Works as a one-stop electrical apparatus service shop.
“We specialize in all types of electric motors, spindles, servo motors, and electro-mechanical devices for industrial, commercial and agricultural customers,” Bahrs said. “We are a factory-authorized warranty service center for a wide range of manufactures. We also offer value-added services such as an in-house machine shop, computerized precision dynamic balancing, vibration analysis, predictive/preventative maintenance, welding and light fabricating.”
When it comes to diagnosing problems, providing proper repair analysis and delivering top-notch service for servo motors, Acme’s repair team boasts over 100 years of combined experience working with a wide selection of complex motor systems.
“We specialize in fast, accurate repair, rewind and re-manufacture of all brands of servo motors,” Bahrs said. “During our repair process, every encoder or all feedback devices are checked for proper signals and alignment.”
Acme Armature Works is PDTA (Power Transmission Distributors Association) and EASA (Electrical Apparatus Service Association) certified. In addition, Acme recently earned the Recommended Practice for the Repair of Rotating Electrical Apparatus (ANSI/EASA AR100-2015) accreditation.
Bahrs says Acme’s ability to provide unique in-shop services sets it apart among its competition.
“I think the fact that we do balancing, machine work and welding in our shop sets us apart,” Bahrs said. “We have the ability to do blower wheel balancing, provide a wide range of machine work and weld cast iron, which you don’t see in every other shop.”
Acme Armature Works also sells many makes and models of electric and servo motors.
