(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) August 17, 2021 – An impressive second season of 360 Sprint Car competition continued to provide key learning experiences for Alex Pokorski in Plymouth Dirt Track Racing action at The Plymouth Dirt Track at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, Aug. 14 as he steered the Pokorski Motorsports machine to another strong heat race performance before facing some adversity and a mixed bag result in the main event.

After earning a career-best fifth-place A-main showing in his last outing at The Plymouth Dirt Track on July 31, Pokorski was among 32 PDTR 360 Sprint Car drivers to sign in for the 15th night of competition for the 2021 season at Plymouth.

Pokorski took advantage of a good pill draw to line up on the pole of the fourth 10-lap PDTR 360 Sprint Car heat race.

Pokorski outpowered outside front row starter Preston Ruh to pace the first lap and then proceeded to pull away from the second and third place cars of Travis Arenz and Ben Schmidt over the final nine laps en route to his third career PDTR 360 Sprint Car heat race victory.

After the passing points inversion draw, Pokorski rolled off sixth in the 25-lap PDTR 360 Sprint Car headliner. However, things did not go Pokorski’s way as he dropped to the rear of the field in the opening laps as he struggled to find competitive speed and traction on the smooth and multi-groove racing surface.

After falling to 22nd in the running order prior to the lone caution flag of the event on lap 9 for a spin involving Adam Miller, Pokorski gradually worked his way up as he maneuvered around Anthony Knierim, Josh Teunissen and Tyler Brabant over the final 16 laps to record a 19th-place finish in a race won by Brandon McMullen.

“The heat race went very smoothly,” Pokorski said. “The car was a little tight, but I was able to get out front and use the whole track to combat that. The feature was more my fault than the car’s. I wasn’t using the cushion right and I almost spun in the middle of turns one and two early on. I was lucky to avoid getting hit, but I was able to finish the race.”

Although his A-main result was not quite what he was hoping for, Pokorski is looking forward to another opportunity to wheel the No. 4 Pokorski Motorsport car this Saturday, Aug. 21 at Plymouth.

“On the night overall, I would say it was decent,” Pokorski said. “It felt good to win the heat race, which was packed with fast cars. However, I was hoping to do better in the feature. The engine will go to the engine builder this week to get checked out and we will be back on Saturday to race.”

The Pokorski Motorsports team is set to return to action at The Plymouth Dirt Track at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds for Plymouth Dirt Track Racing’s Autograph Night featuring free checkered flags and backpacks for the first 200 kids courtesy of Hopf Farms, which will run in conjunction with Kids Night featuring a coin drop and free glowsticks on Saturday, Aug. 21.

Spectator gates open at 4:30 p.m. with hot laps at 5:30 p.m. and racing at 6 p.m.
