(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 18, 2026 – Repeat winners, commanding performances, and a last-lap showstopper highlighted Plymouth Dirt Track Racing feature race action at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis., on Saturday, July 18.

Joel Bennett of Hortonville earned his second Seubert Calf Ranches Super Six Late Model Series presented by Sheboygan’s Rock Station 106.5 The Buzz A-main victory of the 2026 campaign in the 30-lap headliner.

Bill Taylor of Boltonville put together a dominating effort on the way to victory in the 25-lap Akright Auto PDTR 360 Sprint Car A feature.

Former division champion Luke Scholten of Oostburg earned his second A-main triumph of the season in the 25-lap Oostburg Automotive Grand National main event.

Past division champ Tim Sheppard of Beaver Dam pulled off a thrilling last corner pass en route to his second 2026 A-main win in the 25-lap Sheboygan Flooring B Mod A main.

Starting from the pole, Joel Bennett charged to the lead on the drop of the green flag in the Super Six Late Model Series main event, followed closely by outside front row starter Turk Letizia of Milwaukee.

Letizia briefly pressured Bennett for the top spot along the high groove on lap 3. However, Bennett pulled away and was never challenged the rest of the way.

Bennett went on to post his second Super Six Late Model A-main victory of the 2026 season and second career triumph at The Plymouth Dirt Track in the caution-free race.

Last year’s Super Six Late Model Series champion, Taylor Scheffler of Waukesha, placed second after starting fourth, six-time PDTR Late Model champ Brad Mueller of Random Lake placed third from the seventh starting position, Letizia finished fourth, and five-time PDTR Late Model champion Justin Schmidt of Cleveland took fifth after starting third.

Bill Taylor, who started on the pole, got the jump on the start to grab the lead in the 360 Sprint Car main event as defending division champion Kevin Karnitz of West Bend bolted into second from the fifth starting spot.

On lap 9, the leaders began working their way through slower traffic before the lone caution flag of the race appeared on lap 12 when Eric Wilke stopped along the frontstretch.

Following the restart, seventh starter Tyler Davis of Franklin slipped past Karnitz to take over second and went to work trying to chase down Taylor. As the leaders wound their way through the back of the field in the closing laps, Davis cut into the lead gap.

Davis mounted a spirited bid for the lead in the final circuits, but it was not quite enough as Taylor claimed his second career PDTR 360 Sprint Car A main victory and third overall Midwest Sprint Car Association main event win.

Davis had to settle for second, Karnitz was third, fourth starter T.J. Smith of Greenville placed fourth, and Waldo’s Chris Clayton rode the low line from the 14th starting spot to round out the top five.

Outside front row starter Jason Juech of Plymouth seized the lead at the start of the Grand National A main with fourth starter Greg Goschey of Slinger in pursuit in the early going.

Juech built up a big early lead before the first of four caution flags flew on lap 8 for a multi-car incident in turn four. Following the restart, Luke Scholten, who started fifth, moved up to take second on lap 9.

One lap later, Scholten swung past Juech to seize the lead with a low move in turn three. After three more caution flags appeared in rapid succession, Scholten held strong at the point while 2018 PDTR Grand National champion and last week’s Scott Weiss Memorial race winner Tyler Kulow of Plymouth moved up from his 12th starting position to break into the top three as the laps wound down.

Scholten held strong to collect his 20th career PDTR Grand National A-main victory and pull within four of all-time division wins leader Brad Lubach.

Kulow slipped underneath Juech, heading to the checkered flag to grab a runner-up finish. Juech was third, Jeff Muehlbauer of Elkhart Lake placed fourth from the seventh starting spot, and ninth starter Justin Miller of Plymouth was fifth.

Polesitter Travis Kleindl of Beaver Dam paced the opening laps before the first of three caution flags was displayed on lap 3. When the race resumed, third starter Rory Welch of Plymouth powered in to assume the top spot on laps 6 and 7. However, Kleindl battled back along the outside groove to retake the lead in turn four on lap 8.

On lap 11, Sheppard, who claimed the 2018 PDTR B Mod title, advanced from his ninth starting position to take second. After another caution period, Sheppard stalked Kleindl to mount a challenge along the low line.

After the third and final caution, Sheppard applied heavy pressure for the lead before finally pulling off the winning move with a nifty high-to-low maneuver exiting four to nip Kleindl at the finish line by a scant .141 of a second.

Sheppard’s thrilling victory was his second of the 2026 season and fourth of his PDTR B Mod career.

Kleindl placed second, 2017 PDTR B Mod champion Justin Green of Sheboygan Falls took third from the 11th starting position, 2024 division champ Travis Schmidt of Cascade charged up from the 12th starting spot to take fourth, and 17th starter Steve Lorier of Sheboygan rounded out the top five.

All four A-main winners earned an extra $100 and second-place finishers claimed an additional $25 courtesy of Larry Dietz of Next Step Consulting and Business Solutions.

Brok Clifcorn of Cottage Grove won the 12-lap PDTR 360 Sprint Car B Main.

Taylor Scheffler of Waukesha claimed overall fast qualifier honors in the Super Six Late Model Series with a lap of 13.277 seconds.

Tyler Davis earned fastest overall qualifier honors in the PDTR 360 Sprint Car division with a lap of 12.237 seconds.

The 10th event of the 2026 PDTR campaign, sponsored by Next Step Insurance, featured 77 total cars, including 27 360 Sprint Cars, 19 Grand Nationals, 18 B Mods, and 13 Late Models.

Plymouth Dirt Track Racing returns to action this Saturday, July 25, for the annual Christmas in July event featuring the third and final appearance of the 2026 season for the Badger Midgets presented by Sheboygan’s Rock Station 106.5 The Buzz.

The Akright Auto 360 Sprint Cars, Oostburg Automotive Grand Nationals, and Sheboygan Flooring B Mods will also be in competition.

As part of Christmas in July, kids are invited to the PDTR merchandise table under the grandstand between 4:30 and 6 p.m. to decorate their own Christmas stocking filled with an assortment of goodies while supplies last.

Spectator gates open at 4:30 p.m. with qualifying at 5:30 p.m. and opening ceremonies at 6 p.m.
