Brandon Berth of Cascade collected his ninth career MMW Industrial Supply Midwest Sprint Car Association main event victory in the 25-lap A-main at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis. on Saturday, Aug. 29.
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) August 29, 2026 – Brandon Berth of Cascade stormed to his first MMW Industrial Supply Midwest Sprint Car Association victory of the 2026 season in the 25-lap main event at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis. on Saturday, Aug. 29.
Berth jumped into the lead on the opening circuit from the pole with outside front row starter Tristan Furseth of Cambridge following in second. The first of two caution flags appeared on lap 2 when Ryan Sawusch spun in turn two.
When the race resumed, third starter Tyler Davis of Franklin slipped past Furseth to secure second while outside second row starter Eric Wilke of Genesee followed into third.
A bid for his first A-main victory ended for Davis on lap 6 when he spun into the infield. After inheriting second, Wilke went to work along the cushion of the lightning-fast track surface to cut the sizable lead gap.
Just as the leaders caught lapped traffic, the second and final caution flag came out on lap 10 for the stalled car of Kurt Davis.
Berth bolted away from Wilke on the restart, while three-time MSA champion Ben Schmidt of Plymouth, who started 16th, maneuvered into third. Berth caught the rear of the pack on lap 20, which allowed Wilke to reel in the leader.
However, the high-riding Berth skillfully sliced his way through slower traffic in the closing laps to earn his first MSA A-main victory of the 2026 campaign, second win at Wilmot Raceway, and ninth career MSA triumph.
Wilke finished an MSA career-best second, Schmidt’s inspired run through the field yielded a third-place showing, MSA rookie Chad Stouthamer of Big Bend placed a career-best fourth after starting sixth, and Furseth rounded out the top five.
With the victory, Berth became the ninth different driver to score an MSA A-main victory during the 2026 campaign.
Tyler Davis topped the MSA qualifying field with the fastest overall lap of 13.385 seconds around the historic three-eighths-mile semi-banked clay oval.
The 20th event of the 2026 MSA campaign attracted a field of 21 entrants.
The next event on the MSA schedule is the ninth annual Harry Neitzel Tribute Race at Dodge County Fairgrounds Speedway in Beaver Dam, Wis. on Friday, Sept. 4.
