(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 6, 2026 – In front of a record crowd, two-time Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion Ben Schmidt of Plymouth raced to his third consecutive A-main victory of the 2026 season on Saturday, June 6, at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis.
Sheldon Haudenschild of Wooster, Ohio, utilized a late-race charge to earn his first victory at The Plymouth Dirt Track in the 35-lap NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series headliner, contested before the largest crowd in the 76-year history of The Plymouth Dirt Track.
Defending PDTR 360 Sprint Car champion Kevin Karnitz of West Bend seized the lead at the start of the 25-lap main event with third starter Joseph Hintz of Burnett following in second.
On lap 7, Karnitz caught the back of the field and began to slice his way through slower traffic, which allowed the lead gap to dwindle quickly. Meanwhile, Ben Schmidt, who started sixth, slipped into second on lap 8 before vaulting into the lead in turn three on lap 9.
Two laps later, Hintz charged in to steal the top spot away from Schmidt as the leaders weaved their way through lapped traffic.
Hintz maintained the top spot with Schmidt and Karnitz trailing close behind until the first of two caution flags appeared on lap 16 when Billy Kreutz of Kiel stopped in turn two.
On the restart, Schmidt used a strong move to power past Hintz and seize the top spot. The 26-year veteran quickly built up a full straightaway lead over Hintz before the second and final caution flag appeared on lap 23 when Chris Clayton of Waldo lost a right rear tire in turn three.
Following a single-file restart, Schmidt again commanded the lead over the final two laps on the way to his second straight A-main victory in PDTR 360 Sprint Car competition and third consecutive MMW Industrial Supply Midwest Sprint Car Association win of the 2026 campaign, 30th PDTR 360 Sprint Car triumph and 55th career MSA main event victory.
Hintz was second, outside front row starter T.J. Smith of Greenville placed third, Karnitz took fourth, and Tyler Davis of Franklin bolted up nine spots to place fifth, after starting 14th.
Two-time World of Outlaws Series champion David Gravel of Watertown, Conn. swept into the lead on the opening lap ahead of third-starter Buddy Kofoid of Penngrove, Calif.

The leaders were just about to catch the rear of the field when Travis Arenz of Sheboygan Falls flipped in turn two following contact with an infield tire to bring out a red flag on lap 9.
Gravel maintained the top spot with Kofoid giving chase on the ensuing restart before another red flag was displayed on lap 16 when Will Gerrits of Waupun flipped in turn two after contacting an infield tire.
After a caution flag came out on lap 23 for the slow car of Will Armitage of Athens, Ill. along the frontstretch, the action at the front of the field picked up considerably on the ensuing restart when Kofoid worked the high groove to sweep around Gravel and into the lead on lap 25.
Gravel battled back to regain the top spot on laps 26 and 27 after trading slide jobs with Kofoid. On lap 29, Gravel made hard contact with the turn four wall while battling with Kofoid for the lead. The incident drew a caution and forced Gravel to retire from the race with rear-end damage.
Following a single-file restart, Sheldon Haudenschild, who started fourth, bolted in to challenge Kofoid for the lead. On lap 31, Haudenschild pulled off the winning move by vaulting his way into the lead in turn two.
Haudenschild went on to earn his first A-main victory at The Plymouth Dirt Track and the 48th main event win of his World of Outlaws career.
Kofoid had to settle for second, Garett Williamson of Columbia, Mo. placed third after starting fifth, Cole Macedo of Lemoore, Calif. finished fourth from the seventh starting spot, and Carson Macedo of Lemoore, Calif. advanced from the 16th starting position to round out the top five.
Ben Schmidt collected the PDTR 360 Sprint Car overall fast qualifier award with a lap of 12.584 seconds.
David Gravel registered the fastest lap in World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series qualifying in 11.386 seconds.
The 12-lap World of Outlaws Last Chance Showdown win went to Joel Myers Jr. of Santa Rosa, Calif.
The fifth event of the 2026 PDTR campaign, sponsored by Hopf Farms, produced a field of 54 Sprint Cars, including 33 World of Outlaws Series 410 Sprint Cars and 21 PDTR 360 Sprint Cars.
Plymouth Dirt Track Racing will return to action on Saturday, June 13 with the Badger Midgets returning for the second time in 2026 along with the Akright Auto PDTR 360 Sprint Cars, Oostburg Automotive Grand Nationals and Sheboygan Flooring B Mods.
