(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 13, 2026 – Two-time Plymouth Dirt Track Racing Akright Auto 360 Sprint Car champion Ben Schmidt of Plymouth earned his third straight A-main victory to headline main event action at the venerable third-mile clay oval in Plymouth, Wis., on Saturday, June 13.

In the 25-lap Oostburg Automotive Grand National division, Matt Urban of Milwaukee steered the 53B car of Brad Weiss to his first career victory in the Grand National division.

Former track champion Tim Sheppard of Beaver Dam returned to victory lane for the first time in three years in the 25-lap Sheboygan Flooring main event.

R.J. Corson of Markham, Ill. earned his first career win at the Plymouth Dirt Track in the 25-lap Badger Midgets A main.

After a caution for Johnsburg’s Katelyn Krebsbach negated the initial start of the 360 Sprint Car main event, PDTR rookie Brok Clifcorn of Cottage Grove led the opening lap from the third starting position.

On lap 2, fourth starter Ben Schmidt dove low to steal the top spot away from the high-riding Clifcorn. Schmidt caught the rear of the field on lap 6 and went to work weaving his way through slower traffic.

Meanwhile, Clifcorn, fifth starter Tyler Davis of Franklin, 2008 PDTR 360 Sprint Car champion Lance Fassbender of Burnett, who started sixth, and eighth starter Josh Walter of Plymouth mounted a heated four-car duel for second.

On lap 13, Clifcorn caught Schmidt in traffic and briefly surged into the lead along the backstretch. However, Schmidt swiftly battled back to retain the top spot. Two laps later, Davis cleared Clifcorn to gain the runner-up position and quickly set his sights on the lead.

The second caution flag of the race appeared on lap 21 for a spin involving Bill Taylor of Boltonville, which set up a four-lap dash to the finish. Following a single-file restart, Davis dug hard along the high groove in an inspired attempt to pry the lead away from Schmidt.

On the final circuit, Davis uncorked a deep run into turn three to nearly pull even with Schmidt exiting turn four, but it was not enough as the 26-year veteran held on to seal his third consecutive PDTR 360 Sprint Car A-main triumph and fourth straight Midwest Sprint Car Association triumph. It was also Schmidt’s 31st career main event triumph in PDTR 360 Sprint Car competition and the 56th victory of his MSA career.

Davis had to settle for second, Clifcorn earned his best career PDTR 360 Sprint Car showing by placing third, Justin Erickson of Plymouth charged from the 14th starting spot to place fourth, and Walter rounded out the top five.

Polesitter Donny Kulow of Plymouth paced the Grand National A-main field on the drop of the green flag before the first of six caution flags flew on lap 3. After two more caution periods ensued before another official lap was completed, sixth starter Matt Urban charged in to take over the lead on lap 6 in the car normally driven by Brad Weiss.

A five-car incident on lap 9 brought out the fourth caution flag of the race, after which Urban bolted out to a solid lead. Two more caution flags followed, but they couldn’t deter Urban. He pulled away in the closing laps to earn his first career Grand National A-main win to go along with the three career PDTR B Mod main event victories.

Donny Kulow placed second, 2019 PDTR Grand National champion Tyler Kulow of Plymouth moved up from the ninth starting spot to take third, Jeff Muehlbauer of Elkhart Lake stormed from the 18th starting spot to finish fourth, and 11th starter Ryan Minister of Sheboygan placed fifth in his first Plymouth appearance of the 2026 campaign.

Kelan Wolfe of Oostburg led the opening lap of the B Mod main event from the outside of the front row. On lap 2, 2017 PDTR B Mod champion Justin Green of Sheboygan Falls, who started fifth, slipped past Wolfe to take the top spot.

A red flag stopped the race on lap 4 after an eight-car melee in turn two. Following the restart, ninth starter Tim Sheppard raced in to pressure Green for the lead. Sheppard then pulled off what proved to be the winning move to grab the point on lap 10.

He then skillfully worked his way through slower traffic over the final nine laps to earn his first PDTR B Mod A-main victory since May 13, 2023, and third career B Mod win at Plymouth.

Green placed second, Carsin Cullen of Chilton came up from the sixth starting position to finish third, Brandon Knepprath from Kewaskum charged from 21st at the start to come home fourth and seventh-starting Tim Thrun of Horicon wound up fifth.

Polesitter Derek Crane of Racine took the lead at the start of the Badger Midgets A main before 2016 PDTR Micro Sprint champion Zach Boden of Cambridge, who started fifth, moved to pressure Crane at the front.

On lap 10, Boden spun in turn one while pressuring Crane for the lead to bring out the lone caution flag of the race. Crane continued to set the pace following the restart, while eighth starter Brandon Waelti of Sun Prairie, Luke Wackerlin of Maple Park, Ill., who started seventh, and sixth starter R.J. Corson dueled three wide for second.

After surging into second at the halfway point, Corson bolted in to steal the lead away from Crane on lap 18. He held on the rest of the way to earn his first Badger Midget victory at the Plymouth Dirt Track and second career win with the series.

Crane wound up second, Waelti finished third, third starter Eric Blumer of Sun Prairie placed fourth, and Wackerlin rounded out the top five.

Carter Chevalier of Andover, Minn. won the 12-lap PDTR 360 Sprint Car B main.

Billy Kreutz of Kiel was the overall fastest qualifier in the PDTR 360 Sprint Car division with a lap of 12.553 seconds.

Brandon Waelti claimed fast qualifier honors in the Badger Midget ranks with a lap of 13.708 seconds.

The family of the late Joshua (Butch) Mavis, a former PDTR B Mod competitor, added to the payout for finishing positions 1st ($100), 3rd ($150), and 13th ($250) in the 360 Sprint, Grand National, and B-Mod A mains.

The sixth event of the 2026 PDTR campaign, sponsored by Butch and Janet Hafemann, drew a field of 87 entries, including 26 360 Sprint Cars, 22 B Mods, 21 Grand Nationals and 18 Badger Midgets.

Plymouth Dirt Track Racing will return to action on Saturday, June 20 with the Wisconsin wingLESS Sprint Cars serving as the guest division alongside the Akright Auto PDTR 360 Sprint Cars, Oostburg Automotive Grand Nationals and Sheboygan Flooring B Mods.

Spectator gates open at 4:30 p.m. with qualifying at 5:30 p.m. and racing at 6 p.m.
